I so want to save money and buy this thing, but at the same time I dont wanna be part of the group that, to TLG, are going to throw money at fancy sets no matter how expensive they are, because that would only drive TLG to drive the prices of future sets higher

Just tell her you choose to abstain from daily coffee (or whatever that costs the amount of 42100's MSRP/365) for a year

Why the laugh though? M motors are not strong enough, and XL motors are too big. Besides, to utilize the economy of scale, limiting to 1 type of motor makes sense. In 2007, only M and XL motors were introduced in the Bulldozer. From 2008 to 2011, only those two are used. It was not until 2012 that the remaning two (L and Servo) were introduced.

So I understand that there's a new RC hub with 8 port, is that right? I've just thought about how common this new hub will be in future sets. Not every set is RC, and not even if it's RC not every RC is going to utilize 7 motors. So there should be another smaller hub for the 4x4 SUV. And this CONTROL+ technology is gonna appear in RC sets only. Maybe we'll get a new kind of battery box for the new motors that are gonna be used in non RC motorized set.

The Unimog B model isn't really a B model... The same goes for the Class B model, the Mercedes Benz B model... If there is a B model for the Liebherr, I'd say it's still the same R9800 with a backhoe attachment (that's how Liebherr call the variation with the traditional inward bucket arm). The arm in the main model is called face shovel attachment.

So which set is the flagship for 2019 then? At 230 EUR the 42099 SUV clearly hits the price point for the annual flagship. But there is also 42100. Maybe co-flagships, both with flap boxes? Or maybe 42099 is the flap flagship, and the 42100 comes in a premium box like the Chiron / a bulk box like the Millennium Falcon.

I think this set is gonna have modular subassemblies, and they are attached together in the same order as the real machine. And what else can help assembling this gargantuar beast other than last year flagship RTC 42082? I wouldn't be surprised if TLG releases a promo video in which 42082 hoists several modules of 42100, through the new yellow pin with pin hole part.

According to my calculation it does. 450 EUR / 365 days = 1.23 EUR/day, which is comparable to a cup of coffee in my country.

I'm seriously considering cutting a daily cup of coffee to set aside money for this beast.

Notice the setup with the pulley wheel running on the large quadrant gear racks. I think this is Markus's creation.

@jrx Thanks a lot for the info. - What wheels does the SUV truck have? Like, Unimog wheels, 9398 wheels, or Claas wheels? - What wheels does the Car Transporter have? - What color is the spider crane, the car transporter, and the SUV in? - What are the SUV's functions? 4 motors mean steer, drive, and 2 more, isnt it? - Does the spider crane looks like this or like this - Does the spider crane use the Arocs telescopic gear racks?
