21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)
Murdoch17 replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Licensed
Or Across the Universe. That would be even better in my opinion. Back On topic: This is a day one purchase for me, and Brickset seems to be getting a review together right now. the pictures are on Flickr: Brickset's flickr stream -
I have a problem saving pictures into posts and new topics: I can get one picture to load, then the rest just hang once the upload button is pressed. It seems like I have to type a post then upload the pictures via editing the post after the I push the publish button. Is that just me, because it's been going on since the upgrade...

Edited 10/20/16: restructured and revised entire main post and edited the topic title. The topic now includes my GG-1 and passenger train plus a color swap for the steam loco. I hope it looks better now, and I'm sorry for the bump.

The coaches are inspired by train sets 7715 / 7718 from the 4.5 Volt era in the early to mid 1980's. The Lego Land Railway runs the train from World City to Heartlake City with stops at Classic Town, Paradisia Coast, Duplo-Ville, Ninjago City, (where the electric loco is replaced by a steamer or vise versa for the rest of the trip) Fabu-Land, Technic Town, Fort Legoredo and the Castle Realm. (with extensions into the Forest of Failed Themes and the Outer Dimension of Galidor at certain times of the year.) As both sides are the same (even for the headlamp color), I decided to take only one picture of the ends of the loco. This model was inspired by both a 1999 version of the engine built by Flickr user legosteveb user and a couple of digital-only designs by @Sunder. The pantographs on top are inspired by set 10277. (Crocodile locomotive) Unfortunately, this is as low as they go because I built them from pictures and didn't do it right. (Oh well!) Fictional history: This electric engine (number 9028) was originally designed as a un-streamlined freight workhorse for use in the mountains of the Western half of the North American continent on the electrified section of the Lego-Land Rail-Road mainline back in 1925. The engine uses a 2-C+C-2 arrangement, which means single frame (really, it's split in two in the middle, as the curves were too tight to do one single piece, but that's just too technical.) mounted upon a set of two axles unpowered (the "2") and three axles powered (the "C") hinged with the ball and socket to another frame of the same design (the +). The unpowered "2" axles are at either end of the locomotive. As you can see, the three axles in the middle two sections are connected by drive rods. After serving dutifully for around seven years as a freight loco, the engine was upgraded to a fully streamline-shrouded passenger unit after another of it's eight-strong class was written off after a accident with a stuck Shell tanker truck blocking a road crossing. (Thankfully, the steeple-cab design protected the crew, who survived!) The 9028 was also given a higher gear ratio in it's trucks, to allow for the higher speeds that the passenger schedule called for. The engine's class has a reputation as a tough hauler, taking care of almost anything thrown at it in freight service, and plowing through the most impossible schedules as passenger engines. There have been times, however, when they have been helpless: In January 1952 engine 9030 and of the premier Lego-Land Rail-Road trains (The City of Heartlake) got stuck in the Rocky Mountains due to a large snowdrift on the tracks and 100-MPH winds in blizzard conditions. They got boxed in, and were stuck there for six days before rescue crews could reach them. (This actually happened to the real world City of San Francisco train in the Sierra Nevada's in January, 1952. The rotary snowplows froze to the rails trying to get through!) (picture coming soon) The engine features moving panto-graphs for picking up (imaginary) electricity from the overhead wires. They are both in the lowered position here, though normally the one closest to the train it was hauling would be used. The exception to this was if the rear panto-graph was knocked off or damaged by overhanging debris, which the engine would then have it's lead panto-graph raised in order to limp to the repair shop. This baggage / passenger car is called a combine which is short for "combination". All the doors can open on this train, even the sliding ones shown here. The three 1980's-style coaches are identical in every way. The observation car, the rear-most coach on the train, features a platform for sight seeing. Comments, questions, and complaints are always welcome! EDIT 12/17/19: Added revised real life pictures. Comments, questions and suggestions are always welcome!

I decided to turn Arkham Asylum (set 10937) into my town's police station by adding a back half to the building and a bunch more regular City stuff, not just Super-hero related items. It features a police car (inspired by the Taxi in set 76057: Ultimate Bridge Battle) and two modular-style floors full of normal police station stuff, from detective desks and the commissioner's desk on the second floor and dispatching center and jails cells on the first floor. Even a coffee machine is included in the break room! The top floor is supposed to feature a clock with this print where the blank 4 x 4 dish is: clock 4 x 4 dish link while the front of of the station is supposed to say POLICE PRECINCT in printed 1 x 1 tile letters above the front door. The rear of the station features the chimney flue for the fireplaces on each floor. The bottom floor features a waiting room with secretary desk in the middle of the room, with jail cell on the right. The left features a dispatching center and equipment locker. Also, next to the stairs is a "most wanted" board. The upper floor features the detectives desks with their computers (and coffee cups!) while the middle of the layout features the break room with coffee machine and table + chairs. The far left of the floor features a private office for the police chief. This car is inspired by the Taxi in set 76057: Ultimate Bridge Battle. The 80's style patrol car features a light bar on top and can seat one figure as the driver. The rear of the car features some pretty cool SNOT work for the trunk and rear brake-lights. I will be building this eventually if I can keep the costs down. Until then, here is the LDD file for the car and station: LDD file link I grouped everything separately in the file, so it should be easy to modify.

21306: The Beatles Yellow Submarine (LEGO Ideas)
Murdoch17 replied to Blondie-Wan's topic in LEGO Licensed
It's kinda ironic we discover it on John Lennon's 76th birthday. Oh, and if anyone is wonder what they are holding, it's from the end credits live-action scene: john's got the sub's telescope, Paul's got a little "LOVE", George has the motor that Jeremy fixes, and Ringo's got a hole in his pocket. As a big fan of the film, I can say this is accurate down to a T.... though it does need the person who found the Beatles and started them on their journey: Old Fred! Though you could make him with parts from the CMF S10 Sea Captain figure and this suit here. -
Neo Nexus Force - Odyssey II micro scale space station MOC
Murdoch17 replied to Murdoch17's topic in LEGO Sci-Fi
I updated the engine pods on the Odyssey II space station after seeing a older post by Flickr user Karf Oohlu (see it here: flickr link ) and recreating the pods in my own way, with slight mods here and there. Here is the older version for comparison purposes. LDD file and pictures updated for the first post! -
Okay, so I said the base was done. I didn't think about it at the time, but my my bigger space ship could really use a parking spot. Thus I decided I could add a landing pad for the Bright Hope to my base. What you see above is the basic outline using as many bricks I could find out of my own collection. Their will be more, but not now. Most likely in November I will buy the remaining bricks for the pad plus the Doctor Who parts I need to finish the TARDIS. These few parts are required for the landing pad. This is what it will look like (for the most part) when the landing pad is installed. Meanwhile, out in space...

I was a member from 2002-ish to when they stopped sending them around 2013. Apparently, when I turned 18 they stopped sending them. i remember Johnny Thunder, Alpha team, Knights kingdom, Mars Mission, Space Police III and the rest. Around 2008-2010 it became a glorified sale brochure with no fun left in it, sure there were activities, but no fun calendars like in the 2003 issue with the Johnny was on the cover as a kinda movie poster.

LDD 4.3.10 Update Released
Murdoch17 replied to gedren_y's topic in Digital LEGO: Tools, Techniques, and Projects
actually, those Minecraft Decorations were there before. No new decorations this time around. -
To start off this topic, I will say this: this is a WIP, and as such digital screenshots and real pictures will not match 100% as some part have not been ordered yet, and some parts are not in LDD anyway so i used the best parts I could. I was inspired to do 10's (played by David Tennant) console by this build by LEGOGallifrey as seen here: link to his Flickr As you can see, I modified the outside to be shorter in order to better fit with my figures. Here we see the folded open TARDIS exterior walls. The walls have been changed from the grays of the original LEGO model to reflect 10's TARDIS. Here we see the console as it was in 10's time as the Doctor. This is still a WIP, as the tan parts that go between the console sections haven't been ordered yet. I used as many parts from different eras and themes as possible, such as adding the Lone Ranger pocket-watch to one area as a stand-in for 10's watch, while using a Alpha Team print in another spot representing the hatch to the time vortex "heart of the TARDIS". I even added the TV remote from the Simpsons Dimensions set to a third spot as a part of the telephone. Of course, the big lever that makes the ship move is included as well. Here is the other side of the console with the heart of the TARDIS and big lever. The outside of the TARDIS has been shortened from the original model from set 21304 (on the right) to make it more to scale with mini-figures. (My smaller version is on the left.) The inside of the TARDIS still hook into the the exterior in the same way, so you can rotate them out for different era Doctors.(my version of 10's console is on the right, while the left version is the original from set 21304. I got the original 21304 model from Eurobricks user KamalYmafi at the "Official LEGO sets in LDD topic".) Here is the LDD file for ONLY 10's version of the TARDIS (both inside and out): 10's TARDIS As usual comments, questions, and complaints are always welcome. Thank you for reading! (sorry about the lack of pictures, they aren't working right now... the forum keeps having issues with the up-loader) How wierd: the pictures work after you post the topic, but not before!

I keep getting redirected from Eurobricks to another site that looks like a Charter company knockoff site. (read: very bad!) I don't know if it's me or what, but it only happens at Eurobricks and when three or more tabs are open and it has happened twice over the last two days. No viruses, malware or anything as I just checked twice after killing the program via task manager each time. Any ideas if it's me or not?

Here is my finished space fighters. LDD file for the above ships: LDD file link NOTE: the engines intakes rotate back and forth less than a couple millimeters in either direction. this is unavoidable, and the best I could do! and the finished (for now) space base. These pictures and more are being added to the main post as we speak. Any thoughts / ideas / complaints would be appreciated!
