Lol, you're right, gross Made me wondering whether the hairpiece can hide the beard when it's at the back. But there's no indication of a second head anywhere.

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
Nequmodiva replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
No, like Maaboo35 said not new, here is the Bricklink link: http://www.bricklink.com/catalogItemIn.asp?P=32251&in=S (in 10 sets already) I checked that too, and no, they weren't black in the prelim images either. Compare it to the black liftarm below. Although I see why one could be fooled to think its lighter color is just the result of light reflection. So in 42061 there is: New 2017 worm gear New Pinhole with two axles connector Previously rare gear rack with housing New Bucket mold, so far exclusive in this set (?). At least in Technic. Correct me if I'm wrong. Mini Linear Actuator. The by far smallest set it has yet appeared in. As I guess 42061 will have less than 300 pieces. Next for that mini actuator was 8069 with 609 pieces. (As long as you don't count the excavator in 42023 as a separate set.) Axle with stop 5 in brown color (new color, in several 2017 sets) The aforementioned not so common 5x7 curved half beam lift arm Black rims, always good 2017 commemorative brick of course Wow! -

Even if they did a last minute redesign and release it in pink? -
The dinosaur set looks great. I also liked the bike when I saw the prelim pics, but now somethings not right ... they changed the colors. On the leaked pic it had none of the yellow parts (except for some bushes), even less orange. It looked way better then...

Technic 2017 Set Discussion
Nequmodiva replied to CM4Sci's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Yep, there has always been one set at a 10€ price point for years now. They were always quite nice, but nothing more. And thinking about it the last one I really bought was 8065 Mini Container Truck in 2011. But there's still hope 42061 wasn't cancelled. I guess I would prefer 42061 over 42062 Container Transport. The 3 interesting pieces are also in the smaller one (new worm screw, gear rack with housing, pin connector with two axles). But that might be just me, since unlike many here I don't care about the 5x7 frames, big straight panels or orange pieces -

We already had prices early in august. Don't know how reliable these are. But now we also have prices from swiss on BabyJoe.ch and can convert them. Seems to confirm the early prices. 42057 Helicopter - 14.99 € (199 pcs) 42058 Stunt Bike - 19.99 € (140 pcs) 42059 Stunt Truck - 19.99 € (142 pcs) 42060 Street Working Cars - 19.99 € (365 pcs) (42061 260 pcs?) 40262 Container Transport 49.99 € (631 pcs) 40263 BMW R 1200 GS Adventure Bike - 49.99 € (603 pcs) 42064 Searching Ship - 89.99 € (1327 pcs) 42065 RC Tracked Racer - 79.99 € (370 pcs) (42066 Air Race Jet with PF - 119.99 € (1151 pcs)) If that's correct, that seems a little steep for the container transport and quite good for the street working cars. And it really leaves a gap for 42061 to fill. -

Go to the source of the brickset images and you can see the B-models too! http://www.babyjoe.ch/index.php?searchparam=lego+technic&cl=search I guess Lego designers gave up and settled for "experimental" vehicles as B-model (42057 and 42063) , although latter one looks cool -
There is one thing that could make this helicopter interesting: looking at the picture there should be enough space inside to link the rotors with gears. Or am I just dreaming? This would be a novelty in the recent creator line.

[REVIEW] 42038 - Arctic Truck
Nequmodiva replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
You switched the sides for the panel with the unsymmetrical sticker. Otherwise you would see that the cut off part is where there's a beam in front of the panel. That's probably done because the beam could possibly damage the sticker, either while building or while placed against it for a long time. Or it's simply omitted because it wouldn't be (completely) visible -
The only City set I'm interested in is the 60092 sub, and look what I've found today: there's an offer this week in Germany at supermarket "real", it's 19.99€ instead of 29.99€

Alternate Models Challenge - 60061 Airport Fire Truck
Nequmodiva replied to Cecilie's topic in LEGO Town
I was the one from Rebrickable to receive this set. My alternate is an excavator: It can rotate its upper structure, and raise, lower, open or close the bucket. It's pretty fun to play around with. The rendered image: Link to the entry on Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Nequmodiva/60061-excavator- 7 replies

Thanks for all your comments! I can do that Haha, no need for that, you can already buy 9396 and than build this. You only need instructions... For the boat I've already uploaded a LDD-file, and I will make one for the submarine and the crab as well. Only drawback is that the step-by-step building instructions from LDD don't make really sense. But all other kinds of instructions are really a lot work to do. I've already done two step-by-step photographic building instructions for two other smaller alternates from other sets. So I suggest if someone really wants to rebuild this he'll have to work himself somehow through the LDD-model. The official B model is very good too! But there should be more of them! Well it seems we are getting a big boat as an official B model next year

Let me present my entry for the Triple Build Contest: "Deep Sea Exploration" There's a boat: It carries a submarine which can be lowered into the water: The submarine then dives to explore the deep sea, where it discovers a giant crab living on the bottom of the ocean: Since the crab is really big the submarine is probably just taking photos Here's the boat alone: Functions are raising/lowering and rotating the jib. The functions of the submarine are two rotating propellers and opening/closing the claw (using a mini LA). The crab has no functions besides movable claws. Here are all three models together: Since I wasn't sure about the part count of the boat I made an LDD model. It turned out to have 478 parts. There are 476 in the LDD file but the mini LA and the turntable are missing. You can find the LDD file along with bigger photos in my brickshelf folder once public: http://www.brickshel...ry.cgi?f=536498 Ah, I nearly forgot, this triple build is an alternate of the 9396 helicopter. Thanks for this nice contest! Update: I improved the LDD file of the boat and added the two other models. The files are in my brickshelf folder (http://www.brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=536498) and all together they are now also on Rebrickable: http://rebrickable.com/mocs/Nequmodiva/9396-deep-sea-exploration

News LEGO CREATOR 2014 News & Discussion
Nequmodiva replied to just2good's topic in Special LEGO Themes
If you look closely at the mountain of the Mountain Hut you can see two of those big rock pieces like in the mountain top of Rocky River Retreat. They are disguised with some other bricks around them but their shape is certainly there. Also in the right alternate model on the bottom you can vaguely see their shapes. I don't know, but to me it doesn't seem likely they came up with the same shape through a structure of basic bricks... Also what are the red and black things inside the cave? Lava, diamonds, bats? It looks like you can see the background through the cave so it's probably more like a tunnel. -
8804 LEGO Minifigures Series 4 Cheat Sheet
Nequmodiva replied to AchillesPDX's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Just want to share my thoughts on theses dot codes. In most cases spotting the dots on the package was easy for me. Still I couldn't make much use of it. I had downloaded all those different cheat sheets I found on the internet in advance. But most of them didn't match the dots I found in shops, because those who made the cheat sheets had bought packages from different production batches. Even I myself ended up with packages from 4 different production batches, although I only bought in 2 shops. Still I would always prefer the dot code method because feeling the packages is difficult for figures that come without distinctively shaped accessory. If only more people would share the dot codes they find, the online community could build up a database including dot codes for all production batches, and thus make cheating easier. Anyway here are the dot codes I found: -
engine
Nequmodiva replied to SNIPE's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I would suggest using two axles both with standard con-rods for the bottom engine. When I think about "custom con-rods" the only official technic set that comes to my mind is 8051 Motorbike. But this solution does not allow powering two opposing engine blocks. It's only for inline engines. Plus they might be too long for your construction. -
Harbour Crane

@JunkstyleGio Thanks for the photo. That's the first time I see something I built having been rebuilt by somebody else. Never thought this would make me as happy as it does.
