  1. The most glorious thing is stepping into a store, buying LEGO with hard earned money. That's awesome man. We're all rootin' here for you.
  2. Boba Fett at last? With sand green shells and green cape? Be still my heart.. I'm hardly breathing.
  3. They ought to make it a Creator Expert 2 in 1. Main model includes locomotive and tender. The alternate model makes the 2 different passenger wagons. It will sell like hotcakes. I am super excited... We haven't had one of these expert trains since Horizon Express.
  4. Word. There shouldn't be a set rule. Those pins and axles sure inflate parts count so there's actually more technic than you think. Not everything is vanilla as Ogrums. 10% technic is actually very low. Don't think you can have shells on both side of torso in this case, or weapons. Can't wait for my Grievous to arrive from Amazon. It will be amazing.
  5. I wholeheartedly agree. 2015 felt more of a parts pack with lots of nice shells, basic build yet awesome. 2016 has a bit more technic in it bringing out some cool different shapes like Umarak's legs. Colour wise, 2015 is better. But I modified them all. Don't understand why people complain about builds when it's LEGO and you can change whatever you don't like. I added waist swivel from Umarak to First Order Stormtrooper because stormie was not so poseable. Lewa had too little green so I broke Chi Cragger and replaced a few shells, added the olive green bones. That would be quite backward. You can't get nice shapes.
  6. Awesome. Official sets miss out on small but iconic scenes like this. So poignant yet overlooked. Is that roof sand green? With parts from Imperial Hotel?
  7. It will be expensive.. it's a solid set but I shudder when I think of the potential cost.
  8. Why do you need to be the first to comment, makes no sense. And yep, looks like it. Trans orange and black instead of trans green and black.
  9. Wow the passion is real. I have never seen an organised group so indignant over being overlooked.. I feel you. How the heck did you guys still manage to stay on. Everything was well described. Yet Bionicle was given 2 lines of text. SW wasn't mentioned at all. It feels like I'm an outsider, looking in instead of being part of you guys. Maybe because I never had G1 sets in my childhood. I can never understand but I feel for you.
  10. Darking, I'm sure you just read the first few lines of my post. I mean no offense to anyone. Like you said, you would gladly buy them all. I offered some advice on how to make some side income to subsidise your purchases while enjoying the hobby. I'm new to the action figures community, don't know a lot unlike you old timers, so I find lots of things strange. Merely sharing some experience. If it makes you better, I didn't get the whole wave myself. Only Lewa, Uxar and Umarak. I'm a sucker for green, brown and tan bricks. And I live for new moulds and colours. I don't know why it offends you but it's the way I like it. Insane amounts of new moulds got me interested in ccbs in the first place. You know how long it takes for a system set to get new non minifig moulds? Like the inverted 1*3*3 curved slope from Ferris wheel, to the 1*2 brick with scroll detail from Heartlake hotel/ Mia's tourist kiosk? Had to wait for ages. And more so, to get them bulk. I live in a place without Bricks and Pieces service, unlike you lucky folks. But I plan to get them all eventually. Knowing they cost less than a modular makes me feel better about my purchases.
  11. Just buy all. I don't understand ccbs people. People throw so much money into creator exclusives without blinking an eye, Ferris Wheel, Brick Bank, Detective's Office etc costs same or more than all the 12 sets of the wave. Yet they don't cherry pick, feel guilt or overthink. They even buy multiples "for the parts". Let's do some basic analysis. Ccbs has a horrible price per part ratio. But it's inherently expensive to produce. It's a non licensed theme, which means they don't give cuts to Disney, unlike SW constraction. They are as cheap as they can get. They get new mask moulds everytime, and they never come back, ever. Which means you own an important piece of history. Hell, even basic armour parts, like the Hero shields are discontinued. I understand if one would overthink when getting system sets, but doing so for limited ccbs moulds is weird, even. If you're short of money but have lots of time, there's always the option of scalping. It's bad, but hey it works. I rarely do it, but I know bricklink sellers do it all the time. They're not saints, they're money grubbers. Hit your department stores, buy up the rare collectible minifigures. Shark suit guy is a good bet. You can sell them for higher online, try craigslist or something. Or look up brickpicker, usps shipping, packing guides if you want to go all in. Thing is, you consume out of your lifetime earning, not what you are drawing monthly now. If you like it, and it has an extremely short lifeline of 1 year, why not just buy it? Hope I have nudged you in the direction you wish to go. Just do it.
  12. Beasts strangely reminds me of HF Brain Attack villains. With horror from the deep masks. Ekimu is a must get. Umarak the destroyer though.. hello there, Rocka XL.
  13. I read it all. Very interesting and humourous view.. haha. Burn the torso pistons!!
  14. Got my Umarak, Lewa and Uxar. Built them too fast, before I could do a proper review. Is it usually this hard to separate the 2 pieces for the turnable waist?
  15. Hehe comache camp. I like the baby blue armour, where does it come from?
  16. Oh my word.. epic use of the gold flame pieces. Those legs are double the thickness, how do you do that sorcery?
  17. Those seed parts are so rare.. I like the underside of the piano it looks good. The legs are a little weird though.
  18. Interesting.. with system sets I never bothered sticking stickers or putting capes/ string/ rubber bands. But with constraction it seems that the cape is the final touch, without it everything looks bony.
  19. I do not understand, reviewers bring forth their own viewpoint to help consumers make a more informed decision. You think it is cynical, just read/ watch more reviews and gather your final opinion, of whether to buy the set or not. Wait till I get my hands on mine..
  20. I like the rawness of bionicle of the old.. must be hard to make everything come together perfectly curvy and connected. There's a certain order in the disorder of parts.. and it all comes together nicely. The old mask.. the sword with the perfectly positioned hilt with the 3 pronged connector.. everything is breathtaking.
  21. This is amazing.. I love the symmetry where the torso meets the tail. That curved piece.. what is it?
  22. Jabba is olive green.. the colour of Parisian Restaurant.
  23. Even master Yoda doesn't have a midi chlorian count that high!
  24. Thanks for sharing, so much custom.. forearms.. shoulders.. will be picking up this one and the Jungle creature for sure. I like the picture with the clean forearm shot.
  25. Thank you both.. good analysis for a newbie like me. So glad to learn from you all. I've only started with it last week with this year's Lewa, protector or jungle and protector of stone. Somehow it's like buying system sets for me.. I only go for colours I enjoy.. but they all look so good..
