Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion
gedren_y replied to SkaForHire's topic in Guilds of Historica
@ Adair: Welcome to Hisorica. Joining Kaliphlin at this moment is a good move. EB uses BBCode, which uses brackets. At the top left of post box is a light switch. It allows you to turn on and off the the BBCode input controls. Using this switch after you have used an input control allows you to view the code, and make edits to the code (for text links). -

For those who don't know who obsidianheart was referring to: Herbert West: Reanimator by H. P. Lovecraft The new one is likely an amalgam of various cartoon scientists. -
Travel happens a lot. I have two upcoming builds that are embassies, and there was an embassy challenge in Book I before I joined.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Bram Stoker's Dracula was actually closer to Irish vampiric lore than to Romanian. Mary Shelly's Frankenstein was steeped in a scientific culture that opposed the prohibition of experimenting on cadavers. Modern depictions of mummies fall far short of the beliefs of the people of Kemet (Egypt is the modern name for only part of the kingdom) of how their bodies would be if their Ka (one of the seven parts of their soul) returned to them. There is a lot more I could go over about accuracy to the history and lore, but popular culture images will win out when it comes to representations in Lego. -

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion

About rehashes in CMF; you have too consider the character source. Werewolf: The first CMF figure reused the CMF Elf hair with ears. He is a partial transformation. This new figure uses a fully transformed head (possibly a headgear mask), and given his wardrobe he is the Lumberjack either transformed or in costume. This harkens back to the Studios figure, but with considerable improvement. Monster: The first is supposed to be the classic movie version of Frankenstein's monster. This new one is supposed to be the Monster Mash parody, which is intended to be a musician in costume. Witch: The first is likely one of the Macbeth witches. This new one is obviously a Halloween costume. Mad Scientist: The first is obviously a nod to the villain of the Agents theme. The second is intended to be Jekyll/Hyde, a figure from literature (and many movies and TV shows). This new character is more of a whacky cartoon scientist, and could be a costume with a headgear piece. The seemingly zombified versions of existing CMFs aren't really the original characters zombified. Compare them carefully and you will see the differences. There is enough printing variation from the original CMF Zombie and the zombie businessman that they could be placed next to one another in a MOC and it would make sense that they are different people zombified. The rest are new characters to the CMF lineup. I see lots of potentially useful parts. -
Doesn't matter then, but my point still stands. UA is likely taking up the Space slot in production, and we will probably not see a proper Space theme until it ends.

Picking and Choosing (Challenge IV Prelude, Chapter 14)

Looks like both sides are warry of the Nestlands Clans, since Aturl Prndrn seems to have been excluded from these meetings. -
Apparently Ultra Agents is a future theme, like Space Police III except on Earth. I would call it a Future City action theme. The current Police theme seems to have gone the other direction with a rural/swamp environment.

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 14 Rumors and Discussion
gedren_y replied to Robert8's topic in Special LEGO Themes
It is rare for me to keep CMF figs exactly the way they are, nor am I an army builder. I also missed out on much of the early series and Monster Fighters. This theme promises lost of parts I can use in addition to the upcoming Scooby Doo theme. I will try to get the ones that interest me, ignore the ones that don't, and not complain (much) when Lego falls short of my expectations. -
Book II - Kaliphlin: Guild sign-up and Discussion

I made a quick build in response to the Preludes: Calling Home -
At the quarters for the Nestlands Minister of External Affairs in Petraea: Atrul Prndrn, Minister of External Affairs, had some time before the next council meeting, and had decided reporting to the Nestlands High Ministry would be most appropriate. He took out the speaking stone, enchanted by the new Ambassador to Mitgardia, and walked out to the balcony. Namses Setesh followed close behind, to defend the Minister against possible areal attack during his report. His report was detailed and concise. All the known players, their allies, and the potential for profit were outlined. "Many of the Mountain Mummy tribes have joined the Desert King," Aturl reported, "But Namses Setesh says that those who worship Horus will stand apart." "How can we be sure they will not be swayed by the power of the Desert King?' came the voice of the Nestlands High Minister, "We have seen some Mountain Mummies in the neighboring mountains become little more than zombies." "Namses says he has felt the Desert King's power wash over him," Aturl replied, "But the Horus mark under his bandages has kept it at bay." "Have you had contact with the others?" the High Minister asked. "Ambassadors Kend and Bloodmane haven't reported in," Aturl answered, "Sdair made a report about finding someone that has maps of the Drow tunnels, and then about a sandstorm that has delayed him. Shay reported to Sdair about a connection between the Book of Confusion and an elven sect that had preached reunification. I do not believe Lord Damaximus has received the speaking stone I sent him yet." "What does Namses Setesh think of Sdair's quest?" the High Minister inquired. "He is of the opinion that Horus and our Armored Eagle Goddess, are the male and female aspects of the same deity," Aturl responded carefully, "He was happy to see Sdair's fervent faith cause him to pursue the return of the Armored Eagle Goddess." "Right then," came the High Minister's voice in tone of import, "This is what you should do . . ." ------------------------------------------------------ Other shots: Above Back

And in some sets that used stickers instead of printing, like 10176-1 Royal King's Castle that used stickers of the KKI heraldries.

Marvel Superheroes 2015 Rumors & Discussion
gedren_y replied to CorneliusMurdock's topic in LEGO Licensed
The price point is just too much for the fotress parts, which is why I wanted the Hydra Fortress. I have no use for the Hulk. Quicksilver would be good to part out, but he will probably be exorbent in the bricklink market. I'll leave it. Hulkbuster is even less of a want. Avengers Tower might be worth the buy for the trans parts. The Quinjet is the only definite buy of the AoU sets for me. -
TLM2 was originally slated for a 2017 release. Production on at least two other movies seems to have caused this delay, according to postings on IMDb. Something with the Classic Space emblem seems to be where the design is headed. Versions of the power armor have already made their way into regular sets. When Space does make a return, I expect to see them used.

The sphere looks to be similar to the Christmas ornament sets. Not the exact same mold, but similar.

Thanks. It seems I have a knack for desert ruins. The campfire was intended to be lit from below, but I couldn't get the light source positioned well enough to register in the low angled night shots. The build kept falling from its tilt as well, so I had to forgo it. I added a link to Quest for the Egg Part I to the top of the thread.

To those who have been speculating/hoping for more Classic Space in TLM2, the release has been pushed back to 2018. Ultra Agents has a very sci-fi tech aesthetic, and this wave reminds me of Space Police III. It even has a robot dog. I think we will have for it end before we get a real Space theme.
