  1. We didn't even get our first inmate until 1993 in 6398 Central Precinct HQ! At least I believe that was his first appearance... So that begs the question: who were all those police after for some 15 years? On the contrary, looking at todays sets, there seems to be much more playability: better designed/detailed escape routes, more elaborate traps etc. As for the new garage compared to the old one, you must remember, the cars are much bigger. They may still be 4W, but they are much longer. This poses a problem when designing a garage, while still trying to keep it affordable. It is a very expensive set and many will not get it for their kids. The road plate issue is also a bit bothersome. I have no clue why the went from 2 same plates for $6.99 to 2 different for $14... I thought I read somewhere about LEGO in regards to not including them in sets anymore, saying it restricted the design of the layout of the structure and to keep costs down, or something. I can't remember... actually a quick google and I found this discussion in EB's Embassy about why Roadplates are not in sets.
  2. Goodbye Maersk, ( ) but does anyone know why 3677 had such a short run?
  3. Thanks for the info! I'll have to get one to try and make this tractor. It gives it a real sporty look of todays tractors... brilliant!
  4. Those are some great designs monsinjor! So good, I'm going to save your Brickshelf link on my profile page. I really like the nose of the last blue tractor. What helmet is that from?
  5. Thanks GRogall for the new update. It looks really good, have to get me one! Looking through the new set numbers on Brickset, I noticed, as I'm sure many have, that they go 60000-60010, and 60016-60018... Something in there for 60011-60017? 2nd wave in the summer, maybe?
  6. How about the "Brick in the Wall"... LEGO and Pink Floyd are both pretty cool
  7. Bought one of those 5000281 Chase McCain minifigs for $2.25
  8. Cool lowboy Anio! I like the tilting cab feature. Keep up the great builds
  9. I love to have fleets of vehicles for my city. I think it adds a bit of realism to have 2 or 3 same dump trucks at a construction site or same kind of police car for a pursuit scene. Though, the bigger numbers of duplicates are held by my trains in quantity per individual set. Since LEGO isn't releasing individual rolling stock, and Ebay cars sell generally at premiums, I'd rather just buy a full set when I can. Love long trains!
  10. Awesome truck Anio! Much better than the current one out
  11. Yes, I ordered LEGO a couple months ago and finally used a bunch of my points. When I checked my online status it said the original amount before point deduction and my points gone. I waited for my arrival and checked the order slip. It said the same, not showing any deduction. I called customer service and the assured me I received the discount and that it does not show online or on the packing slip, but WILL on my bank statement. All was good
  12. Excellent truck Teazza! I love the look of the tractor and karts. I've thought of modernizing some of my classic trucks and this is a favorite. Too bad they don't make the mud guards in green... yet
  13. You could also look into UV protection sprays for added durability. I know they make them, but not familiar with them. I'm sure a call to your local Hobby shop could give you all the answers as far as that. The only problem with a paint or spray is if it would affect the traction, though I don't see that as much of a problem. It does seem to be a quite a task to maintain a garden railroad, but I really like the concept of garden railroads I watched everyone of those videos a month or two ago. Very interesting and a lot of detailed and HUGE layouts
  14. Would these be the same motor as the 9V motor? For instance, replacing a burnt out 9V with this for a new life on metal wheels? I see Lazarus asked the same question I am, though, also curious as to if this is a solution. I have no broken 9V's that I know of, so trying this is out of the question for now, but if it works, believe I will be buying a bunch of these
  15. Well, I have finally started a relative expensive, wait scratch that, expensive undertaking. I have begun compiling a few orders to build 10022 Santa Fe Observation Car and a B Unit, minus the friggin' $25/pc windows. It started two weeks ago with the sticker sheet for $10. Should have researched some of the parts though. I thought the train trucks and buffers would have been the bank busters until I found I need some 32 modified brick, slopes, for the roof... No clue those would be a so pricey. Have to get those later Wow, that is a really sh*tty thing to find, then again, it's Walmart some of the people in it. Glad everything worked out
  16. That is very impressive Sheepo! I can't believe how accurately detailed it is. I had to pick my jaw up when I saw the 18spd tranny and brakes function! This is too cool, excellent work
  17. Very nice build Steinkopf. Very detailed for a small shunter, I like the addition of the lift arm
  18. Beautiful work Cecilie! There is so much to look at! I don't know what I like best, the frozen waterfall, no the ski lift, NO the ski slope! It's all wonderful! Excellent job
  19. Nice work snaillad, I really like the look of the exteriors, simple but, very elegant. Great job
  20. Excellent modular Kristel! The exterior is wonderful and I love what you did inside. Keep up the great work
  21. Well done, very realistic maksavorst! A question: can it roll on on it's tracks? I've been wanting to make a much smaller dozer than the one LEGO released. Anyway, great job
  22. Very cool stage setup, love the chrome drum parts and lights!
  23. That is awesome! So detailed, I love the engine and suspension work, and the stickers on the fairing. Excellent job
  24. Very nice building snaillad! I like the design of the structure above running up the middle. It gives off kind of an illusion of ascending, inverted shingles. It's really neat
  25. I looks good, decent amount of space. I forget are you using both modern and classic sets with modulars, or just classic? Also, how are you carpenter skills? Whenever I can get to building my layout, I want terrain differences, including a partial underground system, as I said in your last post. To achieve this, I plan to build a wooden substructure (in sections, for ease) for the baseplates to rest on, and either cover them with bricks or paint. Have you thought about wooden substructures for a platform instead of trying to do it solely with LEGO? That way you can expand the city relatively easy If it were mine, I'd keep it as is. Especially since it's so clean! Edit: replaced megabloks with as... Not sure how or why that got in there
