Very cool truck Anio. I really like the color and refrigerator unit on top.

I love reading these, but for some reason, I cannot download this issue... Is it because it was just released?

Next CUUSOO set: 21103 Back to the Futureâ„¢ Time Machine
LEGO Guy Bri replied to Blakstone's topic in LEGO Licensed
Too bad for the Western Modulars, but I am a fan of BTTF, bigger fan of Christopher Lloyd in general. I really hope there is a redesign of the Delorean, though. I am looking forward to this license! -
Amazon/US only has 14 3677 Red Cargo Train's left, but at $250/pc! It's more expensive than the 10194 Emerald Night and 10219 Maersk Train!

I am more than excited about this new line, and I rarely stray from City! The engine and Gatling gun do it for me on the train, wish there was a coach car, but theres also an updated version of 6765 Gold City Junction (79109 Colby City Showdown) and 6761 Bandit's Secret Hideout (79110 Silver Mine Shoot Out), almost to a Tee. Seriously, it's comical to me... I've wanted the two old Western sets since the Forest Police/Fire sets came out (country/backwoods small town)!

Ah, but that one has four coaches, he had mentioned his original plan of three, which is what I based it on. Should he do like you, and go four, he'll definitely need more. I figured you'd need at least 12 straights for four cars... guess not. Seems like a lot to undertake if you don't already have a good track stockpile, especially if you pair it with that noisy flex track. Plus all the necessary pieces needed for a custom coach. Would you be able to measure the length of you E. Night, without the track?
-
I think 3 to four are ideal for aesthetics. For me, I envision my E. Night as one of those trains that run for special occasions or events, like some steamers do here in the U.S. More like a novelty train ride of years past. I haven't really thought about how I'm going about motorizing it yet either. Three coaches alone would take up almost 6 straight tracks. Based on the train car being 28 studs long, multiplied by 3 = 84 studs. Add another 6 studs for space between the cars and take that 90 S, divide by 16 (1 straight track) and you have 5.6 track pieces (round up to 6). The engine and tender about another 4. So, 10 just to have the train lined up straight. For the rest of the track, just plug in some numbers for a total length of one straight-a-way (multiply by 2 for the return side of the loop) and there you have it! The XL definitely has enough torque to keep it running. I'm sure even a L motor would.

Ordering from Minifiguresplus
LEGO Guy Bri replied to JeagerEX's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Personally, I would have kept the piece, let them know they made a mistake and try to work out a partial refund. That way you don't waste more money shipping it back, even if they refund you the original price and first round shipping. It's rare that ebay sellers pay for return shipping, but if you got that, kudos. I would probably give them another try, if they're feed back is high in positives (500+) with very few to no negative/neutral, (0-3/500) depending on what was negative about the incident and why they received it. I would thoroughly explain the piece I was after, especially with one that sounds possibly like an easy mistake. In any scenario, in which they properly aided you in the return and return price, I'd leave them positive feedback. I've used ebay, and have only had a mistake, where I got the wrong item by mistake, once. It will be up to you whether you want to try again or not. Hope this helps. -
LEGO Holiday Window Displays...
LEGO Guy Bri replied to LEGO Historian's topic in General LEGO Discussion
I can't wait to get this! I LOVE seeing store displays, whether it be Playmobile, MegaBloks, or, my favorite, LEGO! This will be a chapter I'll get stuck in... I think the guy in the isle of LEGO, with a long receipt and fan of money is very amusing... Nice to know flashing cash isn't as ghetto as it's portrayed! -
Experience; my old LEGO room is 18ft 9in x 5ft 6in with a roof, floor, and walls forming a right triangle. All those have been packed up, in the storage bins behind the unopened sets. It was too crowded to add more sets that would all one day need moving. I didn't want to keep my unopened sets or used sets, unable to be displayed, left in my cold/hot attic. Every set I own is stacked now in that closet.

Excellent truck design Dantm11! It dwarfs that old highway truck. Do you have a make and model names for your cars and trucks?
-
Awesome diner ER0L! Fantastic styling and great furniture designs, incorporating Disney's Cars and car parts as seats! I also really like the highway sign for it. Great job!

Around 103 sq.ft. (9.5 sq.m.) give or take. A very crowded, uncomfortable area...

ASK HERE How to clean your LEGO sets/parts?
LEGO Guy Bri replied to jngunsw's topic in General LEGO Discussion
gazumpty pretty much has the basics down. You can read through other ideas in this and this thread. This subject pops up a few times a year, but I've cleaned hundreds of second hand sets. For dusty or smelly LEGO, I soak in luke warm to hot water with dawn general purpose soap and a good splash of car wash soap for at least an hour. Like gaz said, for yellowed bricks, soak in hydrogen peroxide and Oxiclean, or similar product, and leave in direct sunlight for a few hours. Then wash off. Never use bleach, it may have "whitening" power, but can make your bricks brittle. Also, don't use very hot water on base plates, they are thin and may warp. Possibly not permanently, but best not risk it. -
Glad I'm not not the only one... I think I need to do a recount to add in this year, haven't counted since Oct. 2011. I wonder what 100+ sets equal in build time...

Neat fighters pluto7743. A suggestion, if I may, I would add landing gear to the rear of the SB-1, so it isn't landing on it's engines. Seems like a risky thing to land on. Keep up he good work.

That is really cool, even without wheels! Great job J4ke.

Very unique loco indeed Candia! Looks very tough and sleek, like a Bat- tering ram. Sorry for the lame joke, but great work!

Little off topic, but lt referenced it... that song drove me crazy! Few people know, but I can play it, in full, with nails and a chalkboard Keep up the great work, I'ma keep watchin'!

i... can't... wait..! Will those gray portholes be available? I'll be damned if I'll pay $35 per window... That SoBin' B-Unit expensive enough to piece together!

MOC : 4 stud wide vehicles using 2012 Lego Shell Polybag parts
LEGO Guy Bri replied to paanjang16's topic in LEGO Town
Pretty neat use of those parts! When I first saw those sets released, I too, thought about how they'd look as 4W city vehicles. Nice job on the builds. -
Those 8x16 plates add up, don't they? For a radio station, I was thinking back to one like in the movie "O Brother, Where art Thou?", it was very small and on the edge of nowhere.
