  1. Figured I'd embed it in case people were too lazy to click the link multiple times. Agree to disagree. I have the red one, and I'm definitely going to keep an eye out for this one. The blue fits Nightwing so much better- it's been his color scheme for 90% of his history. I won't pay full price, but when there's a deal, I'm going to buy it. Edit: Which blue color is the logo? I want to know if they've made arms in that shade before.
  2. Also, Kraven's hair doesn't quite fit, but that's easily rectified. His hair is virtually always slicked back and close to the scalp, and the black Malfoy/Zod/Killian hairpiece is common.
  3. With the helmet, glow-in-the-dark head, the great armor piece, and incredibly detailed print, Armored Batman is a very impressive figure. But with all the insane detail put into its torso print, I just wish it accurately represented the suit from the movie (a la Silver Centurion), or barring that, I wish it was at least generic enough to be used outside Batman.
  4. If anyone is curious, here's what we see of the Desert Bat in the trailer (it's pretty much nothing): You can click on it to see it bigger. It looks like it's got the version 2, long-eared cowl in black, and either gray or dark gray legs. Not real helpful, and that might not even be what we get.
  5. Those cheekbones don't match that head, do they? Am I just hallucinating?
  6. I think you did get to the bottom of it: Sheng Yuan has a decent mold for that ray-gun parts, OP somehow got it in his set, he's not too fussed about getting replacements or too worried about it happening to others, and nobody wanted to belabor the point, so some people talked about bad experiences that were actually Lego's fault.
  7. So, I've not read Green Lantern that much. Are any of the other figures supposed to represent specific characters? If so, i'd be curious which ones. If not, good imagination!
  8. Cool. We only see things from 2-3 stories of the building in the film, so trying to replicate the interior at all would mean making it wider. Do you have any other photos?
  9. That's good! It's a very, very weird shape to replicate, and you've done a fairly accurate job. The scale and color (simple though it is) also seem spot on to me. Did you do the underside? The Bat has rotors at funky angles.
  10. Oooh! I have the red Nightwing, but I always prefer the classic look for him! Definitely going to be getting that figure!
  11. The article you linked to said that he definitely considers them the same figure in the conclusion. Not great evidence.
  12. The game was finally ported for Mac! I'll still wait until it drops in price a bit, but I'm very excited!
  13. The print looks better with a red base, and the new suit's torso is nearly entirely red, at least on the front, which is the most visible part. Isn't that reason enough?
  14. Because I’ve seen this discussion before: scale armor is a real thing, and distinct from chainmail. Some artists draw Captain America wearing chainmail under cloth, but just as often, it's been scale armor. Also, the outfit in question has only been seen in one (heavily re-used) piece of promo-art, so it is theoretically possible it’s an unused design that accidentally got signed off on for promotional usage. Unlikely, I know, but I don’t like either the scale or chainmail looks for Cap, so I’m hoping. Actually, the Hank Pym figure is also based on an unused concept. In the design phase, a suggestion was made that the suit had a “stealth” mode when in the dark, where the silver parts of the outfit became black and the red parts glowed. Obviously, this isn't actually very stealthy, and it was scrapped. Both in planning and in the final film, there was only ever one Ant-Man suit in universe. I think Lego and Marvel just had some crossed wires in communication. Our Cap has an outdated torso, but Iron Man has an accurate torso, so Lego’s clearly not updating across the board here. For comparison: “-A movie-accurate Iron Man would be kind of pointless without a movie-accurate Captain America to fight against…"
  15. This is a great idea! The Lego Giant-Man might be one of my favorite builds of all time, so making your own versions is fantastic! Also, the Batsignal is at the perfect scale for this usage! The room for improvement I can see for these figures are the heads, which currently seem slightly oversized. One of the best things about the Lego version was that it had near perfect minifigure proportions, but I suppose that might be difficult when building your own figures, though.
  16. Most of these smiles are subtle, but the figure's smile is small, too: -He smiled many times in CA:TFA, when he still had fond memories -He smiled at least twice in CA:TWS, once in the flashback, and once while he was starting to recover his memories of Cap -He smiles in the CA:CW trailer, when he's remembering his and Cap's childhood. The common thread is that as he regains memory, he's more willing to smile. When the trailer is specifically selling him recovering childhood memories, I don't think him smiling is going to be wholly inaccurate. It'll probably still be subtle, but I'm confident you'll see an upturned corner of his mouth at some of the jokes.
  17. This sounds reasonable. I'd guess: 3 Guardians 3 Spider-Man 1 Thor 2 AA And maybe a UCS/D2C?
  18. Where are people getting this? I keep up with Marvel news quite a bit, and I've never seen anything to this effect. Marvel has controlled Spider-Man's merchandising rights since 2012, even though Sony was making competing Spider-Man films. That's why we've gotten Spider-Man Lego sets, up to and including the SDCC Figure and the Electro polybag. I honestly think this is just a new marketing strategy for Marvel: "Some fans got annoyed that Age of Ultron and ASM2 put out 30 trailers and gave everything away. Let's not do that this time." However, if there is a statement or leak that says Spider-Man's absence is contractual (and whether the contract is about advertising or merchandising), I'd be very interested to read it.
  19. I wish they looked more like Lego figures- the eyes in particular look more like customs than official Lego figures in other lines.
  20. Weirdly, the rights are with Marvel Studios, but there are some private contractual obligations that are making it difficult to put him in a film. The details aren't public.
  21. Nice job! I like all of those figures. Honestly, my only suggestion would've been to try gray (or another color) legs on Zatanna, to show that she's wearing tights. But it sounds like you knew exactly what you wanted on her and went all out to get those parts, so I can't say that yours is wrong. Again, nice job all around!
  22. If you want a set at Target, one thing you can try is to call them, ask if they have it and if you can buy it, and if so, have them hold it at Guest Services. The Guest Services personnel are trained to be very agreeable with customers, so they should sell it to you. If they cite street date, just let them know that the person on the phone said you could buy it, and they'll sell it. This way, you don't make any unnecessary trips, and you even get in and out of the store faster. Also, don't get adversarial- it never makes them want to help you. In general, though, Target's Guest Services people are pretty nice; they let me get a discount on a damaged box even when there were non-damaged boxes available. Most stores don't do that. Edit: Yeah, as CM4Sci says below, you can/should use the DPCI number, too. Forgot to mention that.
  23. But Lego keeps the designs, right? Bane in the Dimensions pack is from 2013. We're getting Loki and Mark 7 again, and they were a year older! There's no way they lost the War Machine files when they knew he would appear again! Is it just that much cheaper to print 10,000 copies of one head (Cyborg for Dimensions and Civil War) than to switch the printer halfway through and print 5,000 copies of two distinct heads?
  24. Ha, that's completely fair. This was just a first effort with what I had on hand, and a demo to show that it can be done given the physical underlying build. I have no illusions that it's perfect. Agreed. Lego doesn't have any appropriate prints, so I might try some brick solutions. Now, discussing the official build, it's pretty great. They've used SNOT on top of other SNOT, and the end result—especially in the head—is seriously impressive. The legs are a bit loose, and there are exposed anti-studs on the back, but it doesn't bother me overmuch. Whichever designer at Lego came up with this, I have to give them a round of applause.
  25. BEHOLD! The Great Unstickered Giant-Man walks the earth! There was indeed a bed of studs beneath, so you can modify it with pretty much whichever parts you want.
