  1. Noticing the similarities between my Purist Falcon and the recently released Civil War photos, I was inspired to try to make a version as close as possible to the upcoming figure. I don't like the gray pants or the gray arms, and I switched them back after the photo, but I do prefer the Finn hair. It looks way better than I thought it would.
  2. Something I realized while watching X2- the "Black Widow" hairpiece would actually work even better for the X2 version of Jean Grey.
  3. I really like the upper body, especially the black shirt, but the lower body seems off to me. The black pants make the whole thing look like a uniform, which makes sense, that's what Hux had, but it's not what Fury wears. Also, the bottom edge of the new jacket clearly is designed to represent cloth, not leather. On the whole, it's a quality substitution, but for now I'll stick with the original parts.
  4. Hi Falderal, if you've read the thread, I've answered this question twice already, once on page 2, and once on page 4. Hope you're able to get your parts eventually.
  5. Alright, I too now have my order. I ordered Dec 10, Lego cancelled my order that same day I called Lego on Dec 11, and they pushed it through, and confirmed that it would ship soon On Dec 18, I received the shipping confirmation email My parts arrived Dec 30 That makes 20 days between the initial order and the parts arriving, and 12 days between the confirmation email and the actual product arriving in the mail. The price for these licensed parts was unbeatable, so despite the headache, it was well worth it.
  6. Yes, that's exactly what I was trying to say. Lego doesn't need to create a sub-theme or provide show accurate replicas or anything, I just think it would be profitable for them to take advantage of the current popularity of the characters involved in the shows.
  7. Like I said, I'm sorry that you're upset about prices, and most of us can sympathize with desired Lego being outside of one's price range. But it's simply not always true that the US price is cheaper; Jokerland this past year was cheaper in Europe, as were the Ferris Wheel, Ferrari F40, Spaceport, and many of the other Technic, Chima and City sets, some of them significantly so. On the topic of the Summer Wave, I hope that Lego takes inspiration from the Flash TV show- it's fairly popular while still fitting the colorful, kid-friendly aesthetic typical of Lego.
  8. Wait, are you just talking exchange rates? If so, your math is off a bit, because €70=$76 USD. If instead you're suggesting that $80 will be the US MSRP, the US consumer catalogue for next year already shipped, and the Batwing (76046 Heroes of Justice: Sky High Battle) absolutely costs $59.99 USD. Lego's international prices vary. Often the US gets the better deal, but sometimes all countries get the same price rounded to the nearest price point, and sometimes, though infrequently, the US gets a worse deal. If France's Batwing costs €70, I'm sorry.
  9. No, that's horrifying and it will give me nightmares!
  10. Agreed. Lego has made specific versions of Batman and Robin to resemble various eras and artists, and you could theoretically analyze those to figure out what versions they represented, and whether it made sense. This isn't that- these figures are just supposed to be cute and stylized loose representations of the general characters. Kinda like the Star Wars micro fighter builds to me: cute and nice, but they don't satiate my desire for actual versions.
  11. I really liked the Robbie Reyes series because Robbie was such a sympathetic character, and I think he would fit seamlessly into the Spider-Man universe: he treads the same "hard knock teenage years" story as Peter, Miles and the rest. Despite that, I assume Lego will go with the Blaze character design, with the motorcycle, chain and flaming skull; that design is just more iconic. I think there's a portion of the general public that could name a picture of the Blaze version as being "Ghost Rider," while the same isn't really true for Robbie. The concept of a Ghost Rider Lego figure kind of boggles my mind, though. Lego won't even make Cathedrals or Mosques for the Architecture line, but they're going to make a figure of a satanic spirit? Okay.
  12. Hey, Super Goblin, if you're willing, I've got a couple questions: Did your order arrive today? And what day did you first get your shipping notification?
  13. Well, I think there's a spectrum even within there; if, for instance, Just2Good were to say *, "I can guarantee that we will get an MCU Spider-Man in a fourth Civil War set," then yeah, I consider that confirmation. But when someone says, "Spider-Man's a given," even if they've previously given us good information, I don't know whether they're commenting on Lego's overuse of the Spider-Man figure, or speculating, or if they have an actual source for that claim. *Please do this.
  14. Uh, nobody's saying you can't discuss this stuff. My initial reason for asking was that Winter Soldier has previously claimed that things were confirmed that most definitely were not confirmed. By all means, I want to discuss rumors; I just want to know which things are actually confirmed and which things are still just rumors.
  15. That's not an actual confirmation, though, is it?
  16. Noting those pieces is literally the entire purpose of this thread. The Vader helmet is literally the very first thing mentioned in this entire thread.
  17. Who "confirmed" Spider-Man would be in a set?
  18. Aww, that's too bad. I really like Captain Cutler, and I was hoping someone had made him. I don't own any of the parts, but I guess I'd suggest: -CMF Diver helmet (only diving helmet, right?) -plain blue head -reversed Shaggy's torso with matching arms and hands -Lasha's legs It's unimpressive, and I hope someone can improve upon it. Edit: We may not be cutting or painting the figures, but we are combining the figures in ways never explicitly intended by Lego, so I think it still falls under customization.
  19. Hi MrFishboy11, I answered this question on page 2: You can't use it right now, but you can sometime early next year.
  20. I know some people get lucky, but my last order took 15 days from the shipping notification to arrival.
  21. Same goes for you, Cheese, I'd like to see your Captain Cutler. Is it on your Flickr page?
  22. I hope not. He doesn't need another temporary name change.
  23. I'm a little confused, since I think this is the DC thread. But the answer is that the factories and molds that produce those objects have less precise tolerances, and those figures don't have any kind of connections with system building. If you're suggesting that they make a new large minifigure mold that is in system, they could have, but that would be an added cost. On top of that, this seems like more fun anyway, and it works better as part of the LEGO building experience.
  24. Also, his chest insignia should be a diamond, not an arrow, and his eyes should be blue, rather than violet. Every single one of those errors were retained from this piece of concept art, which means it's probably the only one LEGO got: The erroneous concept art in question: What Lego produced as a result: What Vision actually looks like: I'm a proud owner of the current figure, but he is desperately in need of an update just for movie accuracy.
  25. Kind of funny- the only figure in the entire wave that doesn't have a new or unique part is the Captain America from the Airport. It's his movie, and he's the only reused figure.
