Is there a version of Flash with yellow sleeves or gloves? I'm curious what you're trying to represent with the Bart arms.

While black would be great, I agree with Ultron that it works in dark brown. At the very least, it's a major, major step up from what the figure came with.

What weapons and accessories don't exist - but should?

Uh, Amperzand explicitly credited your post as the reason for making this thread in the first place. They even linked your post in the first word of their first comment. They were wondering what other parts fall into the same boat as your cane. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
N_Cat replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
I've ordered five or six times, and my experience (I live in the Western USA) is 2 to 3 weeks from hitting submit to the parts showing up in the mailbox. However, I've been told some people get them sooner than that. -

How well do these parts fit together?
N_Cat replied to oo7's topic in Minifig Customisation Workshop
The Medusa hair doesn't work at all with the medium short beard, just tested it. -
Looking at the Justice League Action version of Reverse Flash, I could see Lego using Bricklink's "Bright Light Yellow" as his base color rather than the classic Lego yellow.

I also live half an hour away from most of the stores that get Lego sets early/on time, and I've been in your situation in the past. Whether a customer can persuade an employee to let them buy an unusual product feels random, but the stores are too far away and it represents too much time and effort for me to just hope that it'll work. Trial and error has resulted in a method of calling ahead that (for me, at least) either works or saves me the trip. Call ahead, and be certain you speak to a manager. Ask them if they've got the product(s), and if you can buy it. Let them know that you live far away, and you're only going to make the trip to their store if they can guarantee that you'll be able to buy it. If they say no, thank them; you've saved a trip to that store! If they say yes, get explicit permission that you can buy the product(s), and write down that manager's name. Ask them to put the set(s) on hold at the Customer Service counter. Then go to the store and pick up the product(s). If the purchase doesn't ring up properly, tell the employee that you received permission from the manager you spoke to earlier. The employee may call over a manager, but there's always someone in the store who can make the purchase go through. Because the person you speak to has decision making power, because they have full knowledge of the situation, because they promise to do something simple for you, because the retail environment is devoted to making customers happy, and because people don't enjoy breaking promises, this method hasn't let me down yet.

Obviously Lego has come quite a ways since 2013, but Lego and DC managed to wrangle three sets out of Man of Steel. And those sets seemed to be straining to fill the character slots- all three sets included Superman and Zod!

What I would try is actually reversing the wings; at least to me, the details on the "ventral" side in the movies look more like anti-studs and other bottoms of parts more than smooth tiles. I haven't tried anything myself, though, because I don't have the set. Are the instructions available on service.lego.com yet?

That's a fantastic Scarlet Witch effect you got going there!

Technically, we have gotten (at least) one battle damaged variant of another MCU figure; Nebula's GotG vol. 2 Lego figure has the same outfit as her GotG figure, but with damage added from the Battle of Xandar. And Thor is getting two figures in the same line where one fig is identical to the other but with a stripe of paint added, which isn't "battle damage" but is kinda close in principle.

Yeah, this current Flash cowl doesn't work for MCU Cap. As for why someone might want a helmet for Cap, I've got a few reasons: Lego figures are coded to look bald without a hair/hat/helmet piece. For characters that are basically bald (Vision) or whose outfits are tight enough to their heads (Spider-Man), that's fine, because the characters kinda do look bald. So figures like the Avengers Assemble cartoon Cap, the Mighty Micros Cap, the NYTF Bucky!Cap, and the SDCC ANAD Cap seem fine to me, because those are representations of looks that resemble a bald head. But nearly all* of his MCU outfits have a distinct helmet, and within Lego's style, that's usually represented with a separate helmet piece. From a play and display perspective, a removable helmet adds another layer of customizability. Unlike Flash's and Batman's cowls, Cap's helmet is a completely separate component of his outfit. Having a removable helmet would mean they wouldn't have to print on a dark blue head, solving the coloring problem. *Cap's only had two MCU figs, and one of those was for The Avengers, which is the exception to the rule. That cowl is tighter to his head and continues its coloration onto the chin and neck. That means only one of Cap's several existing minifigures really would be improved by a helmet. However, I presume they'll continue using the helmet in future MCU films, so I'd like the piece anyway.

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
N_Cat replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Dang it! I spent an hour picking out parts, and when I went to checkout, there was an error. When I tried again, immediately afterward, the Mr. T hair was sold out! There's still a bunch of licensed stuff. Just no more Mr. T hair. In addition to the above mentioned parts, I found a few pieces I hadn't seen on B&P before: the torso from the Fantastic Beasts female lead (Tina, maybe?), E.T.'s number pad, the Lego Batman Movie Robin torso, TLBM Batgirl's face, and TLBM Catwoman's torso. There's also still stuff that's been available for a long time, like Finn's jacket or Mighty Micros Wonder Woman's torso. Han Solo's new hair is probably the most interesting piece I was able to snag; I really liked Luke's recent hairpiece, so I'm curious to see if Han's affords the same types of opportunities. -
Huh. I assumed that Goliath wasn't official because of the simple print. It's a figure I don't care about– Goliath is probably the worst of Hank Pym's identities, well behind Yellowjacket and Ant-Man, and a brick built version of the character would be more relevant anyway, as Hank was trapped in his giant form when he wore that costume. What I'm saying is, if it turns out to be an exclusive figure, I'm happy because I can afford to miss it. On the other hand, if it turns out that he's from a set, then I'd be extremely excited. We haven't really gotten any classic, old-school Marvel stuff before. The closest we've gotten have been the Hulk Lab Smash and the Blackbird set, which were kind of ambiguous in the time period they were based on. So basically, even though I don't want the figure, I'm glad if it is official.

Duncan is right that you can't fit five of them side by side, but the actors in the promotional photo aren't quite standing side by side. It looks like the build is around 14 studs wide, so if you offset them a little, you can get something that kinda looks like the original:

Decent hair suggestion, and I own it. I actually like that Banner figure; it looks like his Avengers appearance. The only problem I have with it is that I think my custom (purist) fig actually looks just as much like the Avengers outfit. I totally agree on liking the Asgard set; I like Hela, Banner, and Thor's helmet, and I'm surprised but very pleased with Fenrir being included. The ship is meh; it looks more accurate, both in size and appearance than what I imagined we'd get, but it doesn't wow me. That Valkyrie hair really does look terrible, and I also think Rey's would look quite a bit better. Again, agreed all around.

I said it in the Marvel 2017 thread, but I'll say it again here: the pineapple piece looks just like Shocker's mask. The obvious problem with a better head for Shocker is that yellow minifigure parts usually equals non-licensed flesh tone, so it's rare to see Lego use that color for a mask or other clothing. You can peruse the Yellow heads section of Bricklink (I think there's 17 pages or so), and I'll let you know if I see anything on there myself. EDIT: Looked into it a bit more. I still think the Pineapple piece is the best option, but here are some alternatives if you're disinclined to search it yourself. Certain older heads had less detail, so if the rest of your collection is modern and licensed, you could easily imagine something like this is a mask. If you want to reimagine Shocker's mask as having a mouth hole, you can pretend more recent heads, like this one, are supposed to be masks. If you want to add detail to the pineapple head, you could add a helmet such as this one, this one (note this one doesn't come in yellow, so it would have to be representing the non-yellow portion of his face), or this one, and then throw on some compatible goggles to signify the eyes. If you want a full mask piece covering a head of your choice, there aren't many options, but you could use this Hero Factory helmet or this Ninjago head wrap.

That looks fantastic! I love pretty much everything. The Caesar Romero hair is great for the lighter hair color that Joker gets as he ages in that book, that particular combo of Bat-parts is perfect (I would've gone straight to the BvS costume since it's based on TDKR, and I don't think I ever would've realized there was an even better torso), and the funhouse background is appropriate. I think Joker's outfit is somewhat different in the original (I think it's a suit with a tie, not a tuxedo,) but this is a fitting substitute.

That's definitely the same outfit, just with different capes and different cape fasteners. Both have the same small chevron just below the neck, the same large, wide chevron at the waist, and the same construction of parallel dark leather strips going diagonally down the body. The knife-twirling scene has better lighting and is showing the actual colors of the outfit, but if Lego only got images of the costume in the arena, I don't blame them for thinking it was dark blue rather than black with dark green sleeves and trim. There is a second Asgardian costume we've seen him wearing in behind the scenes photos, though. It's a low cut dark green V-neck worn underneath the trench coat he wore in Avengers and The Dark World. The third costume we've seen him in is an Earth-style black two piece suit, with a black shirt and tie to match.

So, with the Thor: Ragnarok trailer out, I've seen a number of complaints in the Marvel 2017 thread over in the Licensed forum that Loki's torso is blue. His torso in the film appears to be striped black leather, with dark green sleeves. While sleeves are easy enough to replace, the torso isn't quite as easy. Torsos that I found while scrolling through Bricklink: Voldemort (2010) The Series 1 CMF Ninja Darth Maul (2011) Black Panther (front or back) and while it doesn't match that outfit, I thought Mordo's torso was reminiscent of Loki. Anyone got any better ideas? Any pictures from upcoming lines that I missed?
-
Agreed. Also, one thing that's really cool about this figure is that the hair kinda works both as a representation of the Age of Ultron-style shorter hair that Lego inaccurately continued to use on the latest minifigure, and the longer hairstyle she actually has in Civil War. That's largely in thanks to the 1x2 modified curved bricks the designer chose to use as the ends of her hair, which are really just the perfect piece to capture her look in this cartoony style. It's not something I would've thought of!
-
I know this is a common point of confusion for the first images shown, so I'm not fully confident, but I think her torso and boots are regular red, rather than the dark red used in the BvS figure.

That Zod is perfect! If I didn't know better, I would totally believe that was an official minifigure.
