So, I still would prefer a helmet to the weird Darth Maul-esque crown on Black Panther, but the rest of his design is stellar. The printing on the front and back is great, and is designed in such a way that the absence of leg printing isn't distracting or eye-catching.

I hope it brings down the price of the cowl on the secondary market, at least. I'd like to buy a bunch and try messing around with them, but at $3 a piece, it's not quite worth it.

Hey, that Luke is great! I also like the Rebels characters!

Hah, guess the Ra's set has a horse. Only hose related Batman thing I know is Dark Knight Returns, and there's no way they'd do that.

Believe me, as soon as they could give them away, I called all the Gamestops within two hours driving distance. None of them had any left over, and they told me that not even everyone who pre-ordered got the fig.

The average price will remain high, but at some point, one might pop up for cheap. I've decided that, barring such a miracle, I won't be getting it at all- it's good, but there will always be some better Lego to buy for $40.

Cool, found the additional pictures. I found myself especially admiring the river and riverbank. That thing looks amazing! One of the most realistic bodies of water I've ever seen in Lego.

That's... amazingly impressive! It looks just like the films, and I like the minifigure posing as well. My only criticism? Not enough photos! If you have the opportunity to take any more pictures, (especially of details or structural work, and at a higher resolution), I hope you take it! By the way, your other models are also spectacular. I especially liked the tiny skyline, decrepit temple, and theatre.

Here’s part of my Super Hero collection: I’m at college, so I only brought the Civil War part of my collection. Thanos and Captain Marvel are thrown in because they arrived via bricklink. I think I have roughly an additional 50 Superhero figures at home, including comic Marvel, extra MCU figs, and a dozen DC characters.
-
That would be amazing. I think that's literally the best X-Men set I can imagine. Obviously Mystique would have to be comics based, though I wouldn't be that broken up about that.

That's a silly thing to say; the database is already just for fun! He laid out his rules, which excluded any form of voice-over, but nobody's stopping you from making your own spreadsheet with your own policies. If you do, please share it, I'm interested.

I'd send you a personal message, but I doubt you can get them yet. Have you checked out the Purist Superhero Figures thread in the Customization Forum here on eurobricks? It's got tons of characters, including Kingpin.

Very cool, but also not purist. Take away the jacket and cigarette, and I'd have a hard time ID'ing him as John.

It's irrational, but I really dislike the caramel-colored hair for Cap, both in the Helicarrier and the upcoming Black Panther Jet. Of TLG's present color library, my preferred color is their dark tan. I'm currently using the Chase McCain hair for my unmasked Cap, but I didn't have a replacement for the future Superman hair mold. I think the new Chris Hemsworth hairpiece (in the Ghostbusters set) is regular tan, but I'll still use it over the orange from the Panther Jet. When I'm being more level headed, I do acknowledge that both dark tan and "medium nougat" are accurate for Chris Evans, and it merely depends on the lighting conditions when deciding which it more closely resembles. I think it's just my attachment to his comics look that pushes me away from a red-headed Cap.

Are people that blatantly make up fake rumors banned?

Yeah, I'm calling heavy shenanigans on that post. It just throws tons of things into one set to answer common complaints on this thread and around the web without any regard for cohesiveness or marketability. The Ant-Man, Hawkeye, Spidey, and New Cap are all requests from this thread. Red Hulk and Masked Zemo are hopes from around the web, but both were refuted by the filmmakers. Play set without vehicles is clearly answering common complaints. Spidey is described as being a lighter red, but Spidey's always been the lightest and brightest red Lego uses. The Zemo and new Cap suit imply late in the film, but Spidey and Ant-Man imply the middle of the film. The set is also absurdly large without having a good draw; kids would all choose the Airport. Plus, this guy's a new member, so there's no proof he's actually got a source. I give this a 2% chance of being true. If it is, I apologize for being harsh.

Wait, are you talking about us discussing Katana's look that was just revealed? Because I don't think that's off-topic.

What are the opinions on the Katana figure having gray skin? I was hoping for flesh (or light flesh, they both work) colored skin to match the Suicide Squad, Arrow, Lego Batman and Superhero Girls versions of the character, but I was curious whether people were happy or wanted to commiserate with me. Also, why is her skin gray in the comics? I haven't read her in the New 52, and the online opinion seems to be split between makeup and the sword and/or mask draining her skin pigment. Is it made explicit somewhere?

The 2013 figure was Dark Bluish Gray with predominantly silver printing. The 2016 version will be Black plastic with silver printing on the faceplate but predominantly dark metallic gray printing on the body. Both seem to be accurate to the incarnations they were designed to represent: IM 2 had a black and silver War Machine IM 3 had a red, blue, and silver War Machine (Iron Patriot) IM 3 concept art, merchandising, and affiliated materials depicted a gray and silver War Machine, but he didn't appear in the film proper AoU basically replicated the version of War Machine designed for IM 3 CW will have a black and silver War Machine again for the first time since IM 2

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
N_Cat replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
The only pieces in new sets that I can find are Superman/Hyperion's head, BvS Batman's head, and Legolas/Kryptonite goon's head. -
Direct to Consumer, or D2C, is a specific method of distribution for Lego sets. Ultimate Collector Series, or UCS, is a branding for a certain line of Lego sets. They're typically highly detailed and larger versions of a given vehicle. Arkham isn't a large or detailed vehicle, it was just a minifig scale building. Same goes for the Classic Batcave. On the other hand, the Tumbler and the Helicarrier were both large, detailed vehicles that were part of the UCS line.

Note: I am not remotely an expert. I'm just parroting what I remember, and hoping for Cunningham's Law to do its thing. If someone comes in and gives actual advice, listen to them, not me. Paint would probably be the easiest. I've heard some people swear by dyeing parts (they say it keeps the original finish and better resembles official parts, and doesn't scrape off like paints do), but I don't think that would work with the black hair to green. Printing and stickers work better for applying designs to surfaces, not recoloring whole textured parts. Sharpie is the easiest customization technique for beginners, but it wouldn't allow you to lighten the color of the part, either. Paint will let you experiment more with a single part, it'll be cheaper while getting started, and it'll let you work until you get an even color. Different paints give different finishes that resemble Lego parts to varying degrees. You can also clear coat them at the end to make them slightly more shiny and slightly more durable, but not much.

I really don't think this is the right place to ask, but as a matter of etiquette, you should ask them first, wait for a positive response (most photographers will say yes, if you credit them), and then credit them in your video. If the first person you ask refuses, ask someone else; there were multiple photographers at this event.

I know this is kind of an old topic, but I have to say, your modifications look great! Most Power Jet Mods I've seen change it to either entirely light bluish gray or entirely dark bluish gray, but I feel this removes the visual appeal; yours maintains the look while instantly becoming significantly more serious. Great job!

So does Blue Beetle have a new piece specifically designed to fit around (Marvel) Beetle's wings? That's cool. I still can't really make out any details on Scarecrow or Batman, but I'm sure they look nice.
