  1. Why would they make hundreds of prototypes? None of the parts or prints involve new techniques, so it shouldn't take this much testing. At this point, I don't see how they can be some kind of internally used prototype. They've got to be either weirdly bad real figures, or knockoffs that are trading on the mystery and rumors. I'm leaning heavily towards the latter.
  2. Autorazr, those are all amazing! I'm particularly fond of your Misty Knight! I also love your She-Hulk, she's great. Have you tested green arms and/or legs on her? Do you know if they would look better or worse?
  3. The Red Hood in that album is excellent and instantly recognizable!
  4. You're pretty sure they'll go with a red and dark blue color scheme for her, then? I agree it's the best, most accurate, and most likely, but they could go red/blue or dark red/dark blue. Unless a catalogue possessing person confirm her colors?
  5. I think one of the things with molds is that it's uncertain beforehand how much usage a particular part will get. With a Black Panther mask, though, Lego can be confident it'll continue to be useful for at least the next four years, with his film and Infinity War coming up. It's far from a sure thing, but I can totally see Lego making a mold for him. Also, Kevkipo, that sketch of the helmet is gorgeous.
  6. I'm looking forward to those unprinted dark blue/red dual molded legs. Those have quite a bit of applicability outside BvS, going all the way back to the Spider-Man 2 figure in my icon!
  7. Quicksilver has a chance at appearing in a comic suit, particularly if he appears in the Avengers Assemble television show. I assume that if he appears, he'll have his AoU suit, but Lego has displayed a willingness to change the appearance of characters in the AA based sets, so they might be able to give him a comic suit. It's a possibility I hadn't thought about. Other than that, I think it's highly unlikely to get any of those characters. Marvel hasn't exactly been generous lately when merchandising Fox characters, so I don't think Lego can independently decide to make X-Men things, regardless of potential profits. I mean, Deadpool was a major and popular part of Lego Marvel, but they don't seem to be using him at all in Lego Avengers!
  8. Interesting! So we'll be getting the two Avengers Assemble based sets in January, but everything else in Spring? Edit: Did you hear whether the Juniors set is part of the January or Spring release?
  9. Huh... so Science Adventures might compete with Research Institute? But the Research Institute sold out unusually quickly, and many people, myself included, never got it. I doubt Lego is doing another production run of RI, so do they think nobody wants a science vignette set? Because I know I sure do!
  10. Agreed on the value of source material. I don't particularly care about Space Batman or Scuba Batman, but I like the 1989, Nolan, and comic suits, and if I were to get the Batman Beyond suit, I'd be very happy.
  11. Wow, thanks, agoodfella77, I didn't realize that was the same image. Guys, having compared the pictures, it's not a new suit. It's a weirdly photoshopped image of promo art for his already revealed suit. The scales were photoshopped on and they don't match the contours of Cap's chest. The currently known suit definitely does not have scale armor, and we have the set photos to prove it. This seriously makes me question the legitimacy of this photo, because the promo looks fine without mail, and I can't imagine Marvel saying to a licensee, "Oh yeah, spoil the fact that he gets a costume change, but do it just by photoshopping the picture we gave you". Anyway, if it is official, the only problems I had were the scale shape and placement, but because those are suspect, I have no grounds to complain. The shiny things are shield straps, which I love, but already knew existed. Let's hope that if there's any actual mail, it looks even better and the resulting minifigure is amazing. Good points! Assuming he does have multiple outfits, I agree; that strategy matches what TLG has done in the past with IM Mk 6 and 7 or Mk 43 and 45. I also think that the suit seen in set photos can still be represented by the AoU minifigure, minor red piping aside. However, the AoU head's flesh printing is pretty bad; I'm hoping they'll finally give us a cowl piece with a flesh head, just like agoodfella77 has done in his profile pic. If they do, it could make even the mostly reused figure new and exciting! If there is no second suit, I think they'll just update the AoU torso print, because its straight reuse might feel repetitive (AoU*3 and CW*2 would make 5 uses of the torso).
  12. Huh. Can you guys tell whether the reflective things on his shoulders are straps (like AoU and WS) or decoration (à la Avengers)? I'm not sure I'm feeling this design, but hopefully better pictures can bring me around. Also, why the heck are t-shirts being made complete with tags for a movie that's 6 months out? Is that normal?
  13. Why is that bad? I know people have criticized the Gandalf-for-Pym reuse (no beard or glasses), the Wayne-for-Loki one (too dour), and the Ezra-for-Lang one (too young), but I don't see what's wrong with that face for Captain Marvel. That face seems fairly accurate for most of her appearances to me.
  14. That there is my major worry, but I hope it's not what happens. On the positive, the school premise is promising; I don't think I've ever owned a Lego school set.
  15. I'm not opposed to minidolls in Friends; Friends occupies its own world, and maybe people just look different there- different in exactly the way that appeals to young girl play styles as determined in focus groups. If it gets them interested in Lego and building toys, awesome, even if I don't want them. On the other hand, DC is already a line, and if we get minidolls of, I don't know, Amanda Waller and Hawkgirl, it makes it less likely we'll get minifigures of them. Obviously Star Wars, DC, and Marvel are aimed towards boys, but there are some female fans. My sisters are primarily City and Creator fans, but getting female figures like Black Widow and Wonder Woman, have made the Superhero lines more interesting to girls like my sisters. I'm just worried that doing minidolls will segregate the two themes. Again, not bad for girls who want minidolls, but bad for my sisters who don't think they look as cute, and for people like me who want a consistent aesthetic for these characters. But hey, maybe I'm wrong. Maybe the number of female Superhero minifigures will stay stable, or even increase. That would be wonderful, and I guess there's no reason it can't happen.
  16. Alright guys, I've been trying to take your advice on my MCU Wasp. Here she is, updated: I used the Zod helmet, even though I don't love it, and I used a torso with both blue and gold. Thanks to Biggus_Brickus for the heads up on the torso- I didn't realize it existed.
  17. Is the roster in Amazingbricks' post assumed to be the final roster? Or will more characters be produced for the release version of the game? It just seems like a small roster compared to the last game (86 to 155).
  18. Just FYI, this thread is for rumors and discussion of rumors for Marvel 2016 sets. Talking about Lego games goes in the Lego Gaming sub-forum (there's a thread about Dimensions), or in a separate thread if it's that different from the discussion at hand. But to answer the question, no, they'll never go for it. It's because of Warner (DC) and Disney (Marvel) not wanting to conflate their brands, and because of Disney having just made Disney Infinity and not wanting to promote the competition.
  19. If you don't have the license to make the figures, you don't have IP rights over them, and can't pursue action against them. You could hope that Pixar will pursue action or try to bring it to their attention, but it's so small time I doubt that they will ever do anything about it. It is scummy, but I think legally what this person did is no more wrong than what Christo does, and I think morally it's no more wrong than what Decool does (not that it makes any of that okay).
  20. The Mark I. Like I said, it's made appearances in dozens of media. It's a unique look, and it symbolizes Tony Stark's ingenuity and his change of heart.
  21. My biggest wish at this point is the Mark I Iron Man suit. It's just so iconic, and it's been in virtually every version of Iron Man, from the comics, to the MCU, to EMH, to the Ultimates, to AA, I mean basically everything has used it.
  22. So, I'm kind of obsessed with purist MCU Falcons, mainly because it feels ridiculous that we don't already have one. I'm impressed with your torso choice; it's the right base color, it's clearly a jumpsuit and on top of that, it has red detailing! There's still no perfect solution for him, (and there won't be until we get the actual figure) but it's a great idea.
  23. Including multiple pairs of legs for every single figure in a line sounds highly unlikely to me, but I know a lot of people around here who would be very happy if it were the case.
  24. I still don't think the build is all that bad, but 100% agreed on the figures.
