Well, I'll wait for @Bregir to announce our faction's standing, but I'm quite excited to plunge the WTC into the chaos. How about, "The Newspaper Formerly known as the King's Port Advertiser and Ship List" ?

Personally, I've always taken the Isle of Tam to be Corrington's analogue to Ireland. however, from what little players have done with the island (mostly a few 1 off characters) I've seen a bit of a Scottish and Irish Influence. From what little actual Lore Exists: But I'd say my personal opinion is technically non-canon.

Location: Mesabi Landing Type: Troop Raising "Halt! This is a restricted area!" Said the WTC marine to the Commander The Agent of the crown looked taken aback. Only the WTC would have the gall to openly disrespect a high ranking commodore of Corrington! "Listen here, sonny!" Spouted the Commander. "I happen to be a veteran of the Juniper Wars, a Commander of a Class 5 ship, and an authorized agent of the Crown on a mission to make sure that the WTC has properly complied with all forms, regulations, and documentation of troops raised in the settlement. "Access is Denied, Mr. Commander." Said the WTC Marine. "Grrrr, you will let me through into this office!" Yelled the Commander. "Uh, Sir? I'm just making sure no one goes into the flooded toilet. The Office is down the other hall..." "Oh." FIN And back. Only took 2 years. . I built this in 2018 to test some floor tile ideas, and it's sat around since as it didn't really fit with anything. It's too small to be a small build, but I needed something for a troop raising and it doesn't look half bad.

Hi, I've been doing a lot of analysis for BoBs lately, and I think something is messing with the paste function. I used to be able to highlight cells in a .xlsx file, copy them, and paste them as a table in Eurobricks. Now, it refuses to paste as rich text, unless I paste from a .docx file, and even then the results are sub-optimal. Did something change with the forum? or am I being an idiot, and broke a setting or something?

@Bregir Thanks for the update! I am excited for these new changes. Question: For my AMCRA, do I still use the last GM turn, or do I continue in my own direction?

The Continuing Adventures of Count Mesabi! Location: Astrapi Acropolis Type: Small Cultural (Prison is a Government building, government is cultural. Also commentary on Oleon's culture ) Deaaaaaaaarrrrr Wifeee, So, today, on my long and winding voyage back to Mesabi Landing, I stopped in Astrapi Acropolis to talk to Padrè François, cause you know, I was kinda bored. Anyways, after breaking into a highly secure Oleander prison, I found his cell. He was just hanging out, so I walk up, and I'm like, 'Yo, how many times have you dropped the soap in here?' And he's like 'YOU?!?' And I'm like 'Yeah?' And he's like 'I've burned heretics in fires.... blah blah blah blah... I should purge... blah blah." and anyways after like a few minutes of this, I'm like 'Oh yeah, while I've burned churches and abbeys and monasteries, and convents...' Well, then some idiot guard walks in, apparently he heard us yelling or whatever, and he's like 'Freeze!' And I'm like 'You don't control my temperature!' And then I used my awesome fight skills to incapacitate him peacefully. Anyways, then I just grabbed his chamber pot and and threw it in his bed and left. So, anyways, I'd say it went over well. A victory for interfaith dialogues! Oh, and for plausible deniability, "Or maybe it was a dream." Love, Count Mesabi Thanks for viewing my build. Also thanks to @Ross Fisher for letting me use his character. I kinda overbuilt on this one, I was originally going to have the Count escape through the window, but changed my mind. I also made it as simple as neat and spartan as possible, reflecting Oleon's culture because it's a prison. As this is somewhat of a bizarre build, and Mesabi is a somewhat unreliable narrator, I wouldn't think to hard about how canon this is.

José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
Mesabi replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Minnesnowta Man, university students have opinions on Everything! They purposely only had abstract abstract art so no one could get offended at my old university. Try being offended by a giant steel support beam wrapped around a circle. I went to the beach in march on lake superior once. Got to walk out on the ice XD. -

Ross, your builds continue to be excellent. Keep up the great work! So, it's snowing here in my corner of the Midwest. It won't stick, but how's the weather for everyone else? -
Yay! Another Task Complete! Thank you! I remember this being really fun, and difficult to build. I used Mixel Joints to allow me to get the bow and stern to look the way they did, which took a lot of trial and error. I picked up This book for some inspiration and help on a massive project that did not survive storage. Hopefully I can get some inspiration from it. I'll license her as a class 4. Thank you for Thanks Wolf! I did go for a more artistic approach than a real one, but I like how she turned out. Thanks lol. Thanks Bodi!

Location: Stormhaven Type: Small Artisan? Task: Mangrove Madness, No. 12 Corrington's mail system allows for speedy communication through the colonies. A post marshall ensures that letters are kept confidential, and that the proper amount of postage is added to each letter. Even the mighty, WTC obeyed the rules of the post office, it was far too risky to risk losing canned Horse Meat orders. Fin Thanks for viewing my first build in like forever. I thought I'd do something stormhaven related to warm up, and I hope that this works too get my skills back. C&C appreciated. Prepare for shenanigans.

[COR - FB] Smugglers innovative power
Mesabi replied to Wellesley's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
@Wellesley, Excellent build. I love the concept, and it's very well executed. It's fitting for the WTC, and I appreciate mentioning us in a build. ...as these actions were not ordered by the WTC however, and there is no "legitimate proof" that these are not stolen uniforms the WTC is not liable for any and all underwater tunnels in these settlements. Just wanted to mention a bit of etiquette here, and feel free to ignore me. the title is [your faction-FB] so while this does involve Sea Rats (I guess? The WTC is definitely not Sea Rats!) You would still put [COR]. Additionally, and while this is optional, we do try to use specific settlements in our builds, as it allows us to build on each other's work, and build up settlement values. Like, okay, you did this great build with underwater tunnels. If you set it in a specific settlement, since I like the idea, now I could use it later. If you have any questions, let us know, and we're here for you. Also, as a side note, I am totally okay with anyone using WTC marines in their stories, just know that the company may or may not approve of their actions. -
Very nice, very clean build. It really turned out excellent in real terrain.

2 separate incidents. The front one got hit by gravel in construction. The back one went when I was trying to close the door and my hand went through it. Thankfully both were covered by insurance, and they were able to get them both fixed today. -

José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
Mesabi replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
I have openly talked about my want for more religion to be in BoBS, mainly because it was such a factor in soooo many things in the Age of sail. Like, let's face it, Church of England, Reformation, the spread of Islam, etc. all happen during the age of sail. Additionally, it was such a big part of why nations went to the seas, to go spread religion (pilgrims, catholic missionaries) and the wealth they brought back usually fueled the religious wars that were being fought. So, I see BoBS as wholly lacking without the religious history being involved. However, I do understand the reasons we don't really get into it in BoBS, (though if you're going to question my realism with ships and technology.... ) and I respect them. I do like having my band of religious ninja-warrior-assassins to rough up people who get a little to into the faith though. Ha! "Cold" New England!?! try visiting the midwest around february or march! Oh wait, you can't! the highways and airports will be snowed in! I know what you mean, and I think the best way of understanding other's beliefs is to simply have conversations with people of different faiths. I had an Islamic coworker who I talked to at length about this, and I am far richer from the experience. Same would go for my Judaic, and Baptist friends. Man, that's awesome! Have you ever performed a wedding before? -
José's Inn - Ye Olde BoBS Drinking Hole
Mesabi replied to Darnok's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
So... I drink black coffee by the pot. Some days I drink over a gallon a day... I may have a problem.... I mean quite honestly, most of what Count Mesabi does is stuff I find humorous. A lot of that is real world stuff, but not always. I do try to veer from too many political jokes in my builds, (we live in such polarized times that it just seems like a better idea than not.) And other than stealing like campaign slogans, most of any BoBS politics I make fun of is just for me to tease someone / someone's nation. That being said, I love to lampoon the STATE of the world, with corporations and such, and I consider history fair game as well. And, a slight update, I'm moving on monday, so expect me back soonish™ -

Brethren of the Brick Seas (BoBS) Intro Thread, Era II
Mesabi replied to Bregir's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Hi Ya'll, I'd like to take a moment to let you all know that I will be taking a major step back from the Brick Seas for the foreseeable future. Unfortunately, I simply do not have room, or time pursue lego as a hobby. I wish circumstances were different, but I'm entering a new chapter of my life, and I need to be real about things. Don't worry, this has nothing to do with any of the kerfuffles I've had with leadership, or other players. Simply put, I don't have room in my parent's basement for 3+ brick built ships (or the quantity I actually have...), nor will I have space, probably until I own a house. I do hope to be able to return to the Brick Seas one day, and if I ever find the time, I might try out LDD. For now, Count Mesabi has returned home to the Grand City of Mesabi Landing, and will quietly direct repairs from there. If you need me for anything, just PM me, it will show up in my email, or contact @Drunknok, as the two of us are good friends off of the Brick Seas. Take care everyone, and I hope this game is going strong in a few years. Thank you especially to @Bregir, @Ayrlego, @Capt Wolf, @Professor Thaum, in particular, for helping guide my builds, and steering my stories. Regards, -Mesabi -
I would like to request an extension for my AMCRA, throne of Gonda. I have everything built, I just need to get it photographed. I am choosing the intel option, but I have some other things I'm doing as well with it, so I will get that up asap.

Hi, I'm currently working on a larger ship project for BoBS. (The WTC NEEEEEEDS a class 10 ) My question is, does anyone who's built large ships have suggestions for the masts? My scale is a bit smaller than @LM71Blackbird's LDD ship, and he uses stacks of 6222s, but that's a little economically unfeasible, and I'm not sure how structurally sound it would be out of LDD. The largest ship build I've seen is the USS Poseidon and it looks like it uses stacks of 6222s, and 80781s but I'd love to know what @shiplover used to make it sturdy. My thought is to use stacks of 85941 rotated 90º on top of each other, with a core of regular bricks, and 6222s at regular intervals. Any thoughts on this, or ideas for how to make large, sturdy ship masts? I'll also add some pictures of how the ship is looking as well tomorrow.

@Maxim I The Three Ships continued their voyage across the southern tip of Halos, passing by ships from Banersbi and the Gerlo empire. But these ships simply passed by, as the voyage continued. Soon, they were far, far from home, and in the waters of the Dranomonto Empire, and it's puppet state, Monomonto. Drano appeared on the horizon, and the local authorities guided the ship into port. Drano was a massive city, the size of Belson, or Londa. Above the city, a great castle where Shogun Zankoku and Emperor Tokiyoshi VII ruled. Below, the city was busy, as goods flowed from their colony of Monomonto, and into the rest of the peninsula. All was watched by the eyes of the Samurai, who kept the city in order. Lord Damaximus observed the city from his captain's cabin. Decisions had to be made. Options: Drano's Streets Dranomonto is generally suspicious of foreign influence, and does not allow foreigners to own property without explicit approval. So maybe it is time to explore? Perhaps someone will know of the Alleenriders... 1 build required showing the streets of Drano. The Great Palace of Drano Half Palace, half fortress, a messenger has left you a summon to meet with the leaders of Drano, as they wish to know more about the Madrician Peninsula. Shogun Zankoku A bitter, and embattled ruler, he has had to maintain peace amongst the clans of Drano for almost 30 years. 1 build required, showing your meeting with this ruler. This may be a way get permission to establish a MAESTRO presence and you may learn other things. Emperor Tokiyoshi VII The Emperor is more figurehead than ruler, but he has seen much in his long rule. 2 builds required. One a microbuild of the Great Palace and one showing your meeting with this ruler. This may give you information about the Alleenriders, and Tarashala, and perhaps other rewards. Shima Wahdor Wahdor is a tiny island (Shima) off the coast of the southernmost Isle of Dranomonto. As Dranomonto prefers to keep outsider's ships confined to Drano proper, you are required to take a ferry. 1 build required showing some part of Wahdor. Press on! We already know our destination, and Tarashala and the Alleenrider history awaits. 1 (micro) build required showing the fleet entering the Pontorian ocean. Only one option can be taken this turn.

Thanks Blackbird! I fixed it, although it's one of the usual mistakes I make, along with not knowing if it's Kings harbor, King's Harbor, King's Harbour, or Kings Harbor...
