Excellent build @evancelt, The build really captures the 'prim and proper' look of Corrington, and is a great scene. I am enjoying the continuation of your story, and can't wait to see where it goes!

Excellent build, and I love the idea you went with for this. The build is very neat, and the masonry bricks are used quite well. All in all the build is great, and I liked what you did with the figures. Great Job! -

Sounds good, and I probably overstepped my bounds by telling you that. I would stand by my point though, large licenses are decently lucrative compared to small one offs. Another fun thing in the BoBS world is the AMCRA, which allows you to step away from the 'day to day' of EGS, and tell stories with more consequence, and potential impact. Terraversa started as several AMCRAs, and they can be fun ways to explore character backstories, or work on the worldbuilding end of BoBs. Good to hear your family is doing ok, and you have time to build lego! (And the moment I get quarantined I'm probably going to do the same thing. ) -
[BTV1-TER] Donations for the War Effort

Thanks for the feedback everyone! Thanks! I'm glad it looks decent. While I am slightly interested in doing the defense build for King's Port, this shouldn't be it. Bregir explains it well below. Thanks Blackbird! I can neither confirm nor deny the presence of Teapot based explosives. Thanks Bregir! I really think the best move I've made as a builder is using on every 'smooth' flat surface, I think it really has helped. Glad to still be here, 3+ years on, and I hope I'm improving with every build! And I'm glad you liked the premise as well. Thank you! -

Neat build, and I really like the use of that windmill. I don't know why, it kinda just calls to me. the scene is well set, and I like how the swords hang, and the posing. Great job, but I'm going to prod you here, this (updated as of the 23rd of october) is your tenth build this month. They're generally pretty flexible about the rules when you're new, but to quote: So while it is great to see so many builds from a new player, but you're getting up there. Sometimes if you're a productive builder, it's better to build bigger than multiple small builds. Again, not a comment on anything you've done, but just a good thing to remember. -
The Second Terraversan War - Submissions Thread
Mesabi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Here's the first of mine. -
Location: Westface, Terraversa Type: MCRA TER Terraversa had been hit hard by Oleon, and resources had been running low. Fortunately, donations were being shipped in from across the Brick Seas by those who didn't want to see the island taken by the Bluecoats. The City had been reinforced in preparation for Oleon's forces. Windows were boarded and barricades erected. While some rested in between shifts, crates of 'Genuine Giraffe Jerky' and Muskets were unloaded onto the wharf. Terraversa would not go down without a fight... FIN Thanks for viewing my. build, and my support for an independent Terraversa. The build is pretty straightforward, maybe a bit simple, but I don't think it needed much else. The Terraversan officer uses Cedric Diggory's body from the HP CMFs.

Excellent scene and troop column @CapOnBOBS! I love the attention to detail, and the scene and story are excellent. All of the figures are well put together. (Though is the guy with the Quigon head holding a lightsaber in photo 2? ) I've enjoyed seeing your builds on here, and you certainly are an asset to Oleon. Great build! -

Excellent factory @CapOnBOBS! I can see you put a lot of work into making the build look neat and well put together. It reminds me of my royal factory of Mesabi Landing, but is certainly more neat and put together. Great job! -
So I'm noticing a few settlements and players with negative bank accounts. will this be doing anything to the MCRA rules? like, if a settlement is broke, would it's fort fight worse, or would ships refuse to sail, troops not be able to attack?

Great scene Merc. The battle is well put together, and really shows a good example of minifig posing. My only comment is, I'd like for something to break up the grass a little more. Maybe some boulders, or some different coloured strands for the next one. All around, great build though!

[COR - FB1] The Brickleton Family Sword
Mesabi replied to evancelt's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Excellent build, @evancelt. The build really well put together and quite formal. I love the printed tiles, and they're used quite well in the build. My only critique of the build is that the bookcases in the office are quite large. Not that it distracts from the scene, but they are proportionately massive compared to a minifig. As for the photography/story: While the photography is excellent, the thread has more photos than it needs. (And I know I asked for more photos in the last build! ) Like, it takes me a good 30 seconds to scroll through the first post, to get to the first comment. Sometimes, less photos are more. . Additionally, if you want to have more photos of the build, a spoiler tag is helpful as well to show things off after the main story is over. For the story, I would like to see more from you. While we do have quite a few 'quieter' builders who let their builds speak for themselves, I think your build could have a more concrete story. Like, how does Captain Brickleton feel about the sword? nervous/scared? excited? angry? Additionally, I'd recommend prefacing each shot with a short summary of the contents of the image. It helps to add flavour to the build. While you don't need dialog, it does help set the scene, and allow your character far more definition. I always enjoy writing the dialog for my characters, and I do think it helps bring them to life with 'noodle incidents' or story call backs. Either way, I enjoyed your build, and I'm glad we have another great member of Corrington. (Now tell us where you got the printed tiles or else! )- 7 replies

Excellent build and great render! the build looks very well put together, and the theme is hilarious. Only comment I'd make is, could use a drunken sailor or two in the shot!

Good to see you continuing your story, @Kai NRG, even if it's without the benefit of Bricks. I really wish I had done something with Count Mesabi in the meantime (instead of leaving @Darnok out to dry while I got super into adeptus mechanicus warhammer ) so it's good to see you continuing things in the meantime, so you won't have so much catching up to do later. I hope life finds you back at your bricks in the future, uncle has quite a few people to hang from trees! (And I greatly enjoy your stories and builds)

Looks excellent @CapOnBOBS! Excellent use of the sail, and great job packing all the minifigs into such a small space. The build turned out great, and I'm happy to see another great builder on the Brick Seas! -
[GOC-FB-COR] The Quinnsville University Library
Mesabi replied to Mesabi's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Thanks, I'm glad you think it turned out well. I keep getting complemented on these book cases, but they are in no way mine! They're from the Dr. Strange set, which I modified with different book colours, and made free standing. What I should have done, is torn up the tiling around the edges of the build, and put in more bookshelves. The flooring, and the layout of the build weren't very cohesive to scatter, so I figured the lesser of the two evils was to have a 'neater' appearance, with fewer bookshelves, then making it look like I had crammed in a ton of scatter and shelving. It wasn't intentional, I'm just glad the photography turned out ok! I'm glad it looks well though. I'm glad you liked both the build and story, thank you! Thanks Blackbird! I enjoyed building it, and I'm glad your university gave me a story hook. Thank you! I saw your comments on flickr, and I appreciate the feedback. Originally I was planning on doing 2 large banners down on the side, and a large window on a 3rd floor, but I think this looks better. Thank you NOD! I am always of the opinion, that every building should have some sort of interior. (perhaps my only critique of @Ayrlego ) So I build quite a few facade builds, as I've found it is quite hard to do a proportionally 'correct' build with an interior and exterior. That's a feature, not a bug. Do you know how hard it is to get rid of tenured professors? Thank you so much! I really have been trying to make sure that every build is the best it can be, and I'm glad that it shows. I agree with the comment on the interior, but I really had trouble making the scatter look decent in this build. I'm glad you like the story as well!- 12 replies

Looks excellent Khorne, I love the tension in the scene and the wear of the buildings. The use of bricks with built in holes really shows off the damage that Oleon's warmongering has done to an innocent nation of self defined peoples has happened in the battle so far. All in all the scene looks excellent, and is a fantastic contribution to the story at hand!

Location: Quinnsville Type: Medium Educational Quinnsville had grown quickly over the last few years, and with the establishment of the University of Quinnsville in 619, the students were already crowded on the campus. Fortunately, a grant by a mysterious benefactor had allowed them to build a new library to help ease some of the campus's crowding issues. Today however, someone had illegally parked a small horse drawn cart in front of the main entrance. As Campus security ticketed the cart, an official Corrish Messenger walked towards the library... "So after a party last year, I tell Mayor Brickwood that the library in the main building was too small. Like, you could barely haul kegs through some of the doors. Sure you could get them through the main doors, but like, into the library? It was just too tight a corridor." Said the Count to his loyal accountant Darby. "And I tell him that the WTC could fix the problem with a WTC-Brand hammer, and about 15 minutes. But apparently, the "construction" zoning "laws" in this 'town' prohibit it." Continued the Count, gesturing wildly. "Just please tell me why we're in Quinnsville." Said Darby, understandably exasperated. "Look over there." Said the Count, pointing to a carved sandstone head. "So I tell him that if we can't make the library doors bigger, than we just need a separate library to hold keg parties in." Said the Count. "And he gets annoyed, and starts going off about how that's not at all what university libraries are for." Continued the Count. "Anyways, I say, 'Sir,. You need a party library, I'll buy, do you want a red one or a grey one? He kinda scowls at me, but I took that as permission to fund the construction of a new, better, library with appropriate doors for moving large bottles through. Oh, and I picked grey." Darby looked at a small bust of an unidentifiable head. "They did get my hair wrong." Said the Count, no less enthused. "But true art resists interpretation." "Someone chipped the 'o' off on your title, Count" said Darby, dryly. The two were interrupted by a formal messenger. "Count Mesabi of Debonshire, you have a formal correspondence from the Crown of Corrington." "Thank you gentlemen. The Queen thanks you for your service." Said the Count in a suspiciously formal tone. "Darby, we must get going, we are needed in a formal capacity." Without a moments hesitation, the Count power-walked outside, leaving Darby and the messengers behind. "Count, what's going on?" yelled Darby, hurrying after him. "We have work to do!" the Count said, mounted the horse, and untied it from the post. Darby hurried after him. "The last time we had 'work' to do, I was on a boat in the south for over a year!" he muttered. FIN Thanks for viewing my build! I've been meaning to do an educational build in Quinnsville since @lm71blackbird put out that amazing university build about a year ago, but I never got around to it until now. The build went through a few iterations. Originally the second floor was far more plain, and was essentially white paneling. Fortunately, @Ayrlego gave me some great ideas, including setting the paneling in half a tile, which really made it pop in my opinion. This build is a GOC build, task 5. @Bregir, @Ayrlego , @Captain Dee , @SilentWolf As for the story, no harm intended towards Quinnsville, I always like seeing your settlement grow LM71, and I enjoy being a part of it. Please understand any misnaming, is just me having the Count be rude IC. What is in the Count's mysterious note from the crown? We'll see! (hint, I love Corrington!) Shots without figures

A Compendium of Corlander Military Units
Mesabi replied to Ayrlego's topic in Brethren of the Brick Seas
Unit Name: Wayfaring Trading Company Marines 'Browncoats' Unit Type: Marines Picture: The WTC defends a settlement at the cost of a small residence. Description: The WTC Marines the feared across the Brick Seas for their wanton violence and destruction. The WTC Marines are the rabid dogs of Corrington, recruited from dishonorable discharges, criminals, and other miscreants. To fight them, is to fight chaos, as they misdirect, destroy, and pillage urban environments, warping the battlefield to their will. The rank and file WTC Marines wear sandy uniforms with little distinction between officers and line infantry, to confuse the enemy. However, Officers generally wear Brown epaulettes. Generally, the WTC is seen operating with urban environments, defending, occupying, and fortifying company interests. But the Brick Seas may rue the day the WTC is unleashed in a real land war. Excellent build @Corweena, and an easy contender for first place. The posing, is excellent, and I love the character of each table. The instruments, the detail, it all comes together for a busy, excellent scene.

Looking good @LM71Blackbird! My only comment is, some olive or tan grass pieces would have helped break up the green a bit. Nice troops, and great job helping out the rightful heirs to Terraversa.
