LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
I think it looks good. But, not being a train fan, I’m not seeing the value if this is the same price as (or more expensive than) the Disney Castle. I guess it’s the train track and battery which makes it so expensive? I am curious to see what they did with the “interior” of the station (if anything).- 961 replies

LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
Who knows? Well, Lego presumably knows, but I haven't seen any reliable rumours other than "Zebra" possibly being a code name for a new adult-oriented Lego line-up (e.g. something similar to the Forma line). There was a few rumoured categories for Zebra - art, music, Marvel (or maybe it was DC) and Disney (from memory). It could end up being nothing.- 961 replies

Don't we all! It would be nice to see Lego City branch out in terms of the commercial / government buildings. -
LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
I have no idea of the veracity, but I read on Instagram (always a reliable source for credible information ) that Mickey (and maybe Minnie) are meant to be coming in a separate Disney set. Maybe the "Zebra" Disney set? I do agree about an abundance of Mickey and Minnie minifigures. But, I guess Lego want to get value for money out of the head mould. And if someone ONLY buys the (rumoured) train set, then even as a casual Disney fan, they would expect it to include Mickey Mouse. Hopefully the Disney CMF line continues for a very long time and we get plenty of other "classic" characters (e.g. Pluto, Oswald, Horace, Clarabelle, Pete, etc).- 961 replies

She-Ra and the Princesses of Power? That might fit one or two of the titles (e.g. Flower = set with Perfuma and Water = set with Mermista). But, they don't all easily align with PoP characters. And I'm not sure She-Ra really has the mass market awareness for a Lego licence given that it's a Netflix series.

So, what are Leaf, IP-2 and Zebra?
Agent 86 replied to Itaria No Shintaku's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Could "Zebra" just be a code name for D2C sets? Although, the reference to "art" and "music" indicates some kind of expansion of Lego Forma (e.g. "art" might be a Lego vase or mosaic artwork and "music" might be some kind of playable ... Lego keyboard or ... xylophone maybe). -
I really like it. Sand red is a lovely colour. Is there a reason why the roof of the main building extends out over the smaller building? Was that inspired by a real life building? It’s visually interesting, but I’m wondering whether there is a “story” reason (e.g. the main building was once bigger, but part of it was destroyed making way for the smaller building).

LEGO City 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion

I'm looking forward to the ice cream truck! And maybe the police station, if it's closer in design to the Lego City Hospital (i.e. pretty easily "modularised" expanded and enclosed). -
LEGO Creator 2020 - Rumors, Speculation, and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Townhouse Toy Store! I hope that it's close in design to the current Townhouse Petshop and Café. Or, even better, completely enclosed like the older Creator residential and commercial builds. That typed - another toy store? How many pet shops, cafes and toy stores does a Lego city need? I wish there was a little more variety in the stores chosen for the Creator commercial builds. Of course, that won't stop me buying it and perhaps the toy store can be easily adapted to an antiques store or an ice cream store or a pharmacy or a book store or something else that's a bit more unique. The "monster burger truck" will presumably be along the lines of the pizza truck from Lego City? If so, it sounds okay. -
https://brickset.com/sets/tag-Fairground The two carousels and the mixer are the main ones.

The tried and true recommendation is to always go with the "oldest" set (i.e. the Parisian Restaurant) as it *should* (but no guarantee) be the first to retire and therefore the first to potentially escalate in price on the secondary market. But, if you really don't care, then just pick whichever appeals to you more as a stand-alone "display" piece. A more European / traditional restaurant or an American-styled diner?
-
It looks awesome, especially details like the wagon toy box, the cowboy / Western bed, the desk chair and Lenny. Well done! Did you consider using white bricks in the walls to try to mimic the iconic "cloud" pattern?

If this means a licensing agreement with DreamWorks, then I would be open to a She-Ra and the Princesses of Power theme.

Very nice. The pharmacy and chocolate store, together with the alleyway, look really good (as do the upper floors). It's a really considered and complimentary use of colours for the three buildings.

Very nice! Very, very nice! I really like it. Great facades. Great colours. Nice details, like the climbing plant on the office tower.
-
That's incredibly lifelike! It could easily be a scale model of an existing building. Well done!

[MOC] Unique modular building with treasure quest

Nice work. I particularly like the blue and white building (bakery and part of the hostel), but the unique window above the souvenir store and the upper floor of jewellers are also very impressive. -
Is Creator's Three-In-One Line Underappreciated by AFOLs?
Agent 86 replied to Digger of Bricks's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I'm generally only interested in the residential and commercial Creator 3 in 1 sets (i.e. the animals, dinosaurs, planes, cars and other builds aren't as appealing to me). I think some of them are absolutely awesome, for example, Model Town House Apple Tree House, Family Home, Family House, Hillside House, Bike Shop and Café, etc. I think some of them are very good, for example, Seaside / Beach House and Corner Deli. I think some are quite good, for example, Toy and Grocery Store. I think the recent "modular" 3 in 1 builds are ... well, terrible. Just based on the residential and commercial Creator 3 in 1 sets, they appear to have gotten a lot more simplistic and unrealistic. They're no longer fully-enclosed, instead being open-back City style, and they're just ... messy with the "pre-fabricated" wall sections. So, they've definitely lost their appeal to me. But, the upcoming Pet Shop and Café, although featuring two businesses of which there are already an over abundance in Lego City, does seem to be getting back on track (at least from the very fuzzy pictures available to date).- 55 replies

Nice work! The façade of the florist building is probably my favourite of the two. It looks a little bit more ... balanced than the bakery. And I also like the pops of "yellow with the trip and canopy over the balcony. I think they're very impressive for your second ever attempt at making your own Modular buildings - well done!

Very nice. The ... inverted (?) bay windows on the façade are really unique. How does it look with the other, official Modulars? Does its size and scale overpower everything except for the Town Hall? The interior furnishings are also particularly well done.

LEGO Disney Minifigures & D2Cs - Rumors and Discussion
Agent 86 replied to Robert8's topic in LEGO Licensed
I definitely want the Disney CMF series to continue - there is a HUGE amount of characters to draw from across Disney and Pixar. I'd be happy for them to be released yearly or every two years. I guess it may also depend upon whether they deliberately release a CMF series together with a D2C. If so, that might explain the delay, not just for design and production purposes, but also to allow fans time to save money for the next D2C. Speaking of which, I hope that the new D2C isn't Pirates of the Caribbean based. I guess it could be the Blue Bayou restaurant with a couple of boats and scenery on water out the back? Or it could be the village under attack by pirates with Red herself as the star attraction? It's hard to know what their approach will be since the Castle was obviously intended to look like the ones in Florida and Tokyo, but the interior was completely novel and a tribute to the various Disney films.- 961 replies
