  1. A Garage wouldn't be anywhere near the top of my list for a Modular building. I'm not fussed on including cars with Modular buildings and I'm sceptical about the ability to create an interesting façade and multiple upper levels with a ground floor garage. Something like this, but really expanded upon and improved could be interesting: https://commons.wikimedia.org/wiki/File:Battery_Station_Café,_Fortitude_Valley,_Brisbane.JPG And the Garage rumour does fit the earlier rumour about the next Modular being at home in the Lego City line. It also makes sense given that the Downtown Diner was originally designed to be a car dealership and the "car" element may have been a source of inspiration for the next Modular. It is fun to be discussing rumours again! I understand that Lego doesn't like leaks, but if they're not willing to tease us with small reveals, then I'm definitely in favour of rumour-mongering!
  2. I agree. Thankfully, it seems that they’re moving away from such dedicated “story telling” elements in the builds.
  3. I like your Lego Hospital MOD. Was the original version, without the extra floor, built from two sets? Or one set and a lot of your own bricks?
  4. Fingers crossed! I'd happily also buy a pack with Denny, Penny and Renny. And maybe a "clean / new" version of Benny.
  5. I like the Dream House (although it is undersized and seems a little overpriced) and, like everyone else, the Space Squad! I'm still intrigued by the Systar Spaceship and now the Party Bus, but I don't think they're really for me. Maybe with a decent discount. So, the Sewer Babies are presumed to come in the rumoured (?) Brickpocalypse Statue of Liberty D2C?
  6. I haven't seen that Hospital MOD before and I couldn't seem to find a thread on it in these forums. Do you have a link to more photos and details? It looks pretty good to me. Yes please! I'd be VERY happy with a "full-sized" (32x32) and a "half-sized" (16x32) Modular each year. Given that the Creator line appears, at least for now, to have abandoned residential and commercial buildings, it would be a great way to release some more of those types of builds.
  7. Me too! They were great for buying multiples of to MOD more "Modular-esque" buildings, especially the Bike Shop and Café. Unfortunately, from what has been released / leaked to date, it doesn't look like the Creator line has any residential or commercial buildings. A houseboat seems to be the closest. I really miss the older style Creator houses (i.e. not the new "Modular" ones). And the recent Creator Pastry / Sweet Shop pales in comparison to the Bike Shop and Café or even the Corner Deli. On the topic of Modulars, Lego sure has managed to keep the next one a secret.
  8. I'm pretty bummed by the lack of residential or commercial buildings in the latest Creator announcements / leaks. A houseboat really doesn't scratch that itch for me. Hopefully we see some more buildings, done in the older, Creator style (i.e. not the more recent "Modular" style) later in 2019 or in early 2020.
  9. I'd be happy with a police station. But, IF it's a police station, I'd be hoping for a stand-alone building. As opposed to a police station next to a doughnut store! Have there been any solid / reliable rumours to date? The ones that I can recall which I'm not sure were completely debunked were - possibly "sand red" colour, possibly something that would be at home in the Lego City line (i.e. police station or hospital) and I think I saw something about it coming on two 16 wide baseplates, which suggests a split build similar to Pet Shop / Townhouse (although that may just be wishful thinking from those who want to complete the city block given the extra width of Assembly Square).
  10. I'm not a fan of region exclusives. First it was "Bean There, Donut That" and now these awesome looking sets!
  11. Fingers crossed! Sleeping Beauty’s Castle would be awesome.
  12. Awesome (rumoured) news! Any chance of a Sleeping Beauty's Castle D2C to go along with the second Disney CMF series? My most wanted for the second series would probably be ... Scrooge McDuck.
  13. Yeah sure, I was just spitballing. Including any complimentary vehicles or other builds in the Creator line does make more sense.
  14. Looking good! Did you build it from the parts from multiple sets? If so, how many?
  15. Yes please! However, if Lego could get all their ducks in a row, I wouldn't mind them releasing complimentary vehicles in the Lego City line where appropriate. For example, the pink Cadillac and a couple of other classic cars from that era could have been released in the Lego City line at the same time as the Downtown Diner was released. Similarly, IF we ever get a Police Station, then an appropriately vintage police car and paddy wagon could be released in the Lego City line. I doubt it will happen as it probably requires too much coordination and wouldn't "fit" with the designated theme/s for Lego City.
  16. Interesting. I think it could be a great stand-in for the Swiss Family Robinson Treehouse / Tarzan's Treehouse found in many Disneyland theme parks. I'll definitely be interested in checking out the final model.
  17. It's not for me. As an adult, if I was going to use / display Lego for decorative purposes, I'd be more inclined to go with the Lego Architecture sets, particularly for those cities and countries which I have travelled to. A fake, blocky fish which squirms when a wheel is turned doesn't really appeal to me. It's nice to see Lego trying new ideas. But, I'm not sure this is the right direction for gaining more adult fans. Perhaps they'd be better placed making Lego decorative items like vases, small pot plants, bonsai trees and small statues / figures, or little scenes / vignettes of special moments or things like picture frames, mobile phone holders, pen holders, etc. Or maybe Lego reproductions of famous artworks, like Leonardo's Mona Lisa, Michelangelo's David or a Degas ballerina. Or even more realistic recreations of popular pet dogs and cats.
  18. That is beautiful. So very beautiful The black and white colour scheme works wonderfully. And the interior is also excellent. I must admit, I thought I was going to see a DC Comics Hall of Justice with Wonder Woman, Superman and Batman when opening this thread. Although initially a little disappointed, I was quickly won over by the design of this Hall of Justice and the amusing captions for each of the photos.
  19. I'd be happy with that. But, I'd prefer a re-release AND a new Modular, even if the new Modular is just a half-size / 16-wide release. I'd also personally prefer any re-releases to have unique colours and maybe some changed or additional details. For example, I'd be happy with a Yellow Grocer. Or a Blue Grocer.
  20. Lol. True! It's sitting in my "build" pile, which is probably what made me think of those elements.
  21. This is a neat little set. I hope that it's available internationally as well. And that it perhaps spawns additional, similar sets (e.g. a little bus station with a few commuters waiting for the bus, a bike rack where cycling commuters lock up their bikes for the day, a newspaper / magazine stand, a shoe shine stand, etc).
  22. Looks like just the garbage truck and maybe the police patrol car for me! I'll consider the Burger Bar Fire Rescue, but I don't have high hopes with only 327 parts, some of which will presumably be "fire" elements / effects.
  23. Ooooooh. I wonder what it will be. Something from the apocalyptic Bricksburg? Something from the Systar System home planet? Something else entirely that wasn't glimpsed in the trailer?
  24. I personally agree. But, different strokes for different folks. I'd very much like to see a return of Creator sets like the Bike Shop and Café and the older Family House / Home and similar houses. Hopefully it will happen one day.
  25. I think different built elements / building techniques appeal to different people. I rarely find any "interior" element particularly interesting. I don't get a major ... "kick" out of building a fridge, ping pong table, pool table, ceiling fan, chandelier, etc. But, I really love it when unique elements and building techniques are used to created an in-depth, detailed façade with differing set-backs, indents, etc. At the end of the day, the Modulars, at least for the time being, appear to be embracing fully detailed interiors. Which is good for those who like them. I just personally favour those elements being used to create "bigger" buildings which also then provides greater scope for more varied façade details between floors, on the roof, etc.
