  1. Normaly I know a thread is worth clicking if there've been recent posts up to 30 minutes ago. If the latest comments are older, there are usually no news. That's my tactic to keep up with news without reading fanfic. In this particular thread however, I find it interesting how people keep debating for over 100 pages, about what sets could maybe possibly released in 2 years. With VERY little news to actually talk about.
  2. Large quantity of my Lego budget has ran into Elves, since I started to respect the animal builds. Wolf is a must buy for sure! - unfortunate though that (like the Lion) it doesn't has any teeth (dragon molds have teeth) - I think Noctura doesn't come with her cape in this set; which is also a blow!
  3. wow, this came out of nowwhere! With all the leaks, I will continue my bad habit of reloading certain sites If you consider the low piece count (for "the real thing" they would have needed at least 800 pieces..) I think this is great! After all it's supposed to be messy, stony-organic. I just dislike that they kind of reuse the same 3 figures from a cheaper set. another kid Wu (in babyform) or Ultra Violet would have made more sense than Harumi here.
  4. As I thought, the dragons look much better outside of boxart. I'm still no fan of the heads, even though I respect how experimental they are for a Lego set. a few things I noticed: as always, Ninjago doesn't rip us off our money & makes it very easy to collect stuff: - Jays dragon includes armor/maskpiece, and Kai's dragon includes shield, sword, helmet. So by purchasing those to sets AND the dragon master flyer, you have the original Ninja + fully assembled dragon master. - The Mad Max set would also get you all armor pieces, while the biggest set includes the figure itself as well as armor not to mention the throne room set, which is probably the coolest figure pack I've ever seen. Never had 3/4 female warriors in any Lego set before
  5. I looove the inclusion of Elves accessories
  6. the ad is for Romania, they normally get sets later than we do in middle Europe or the US. the text says "the hunter of dragons" Really hope this will be available in Germany, since it looks great with the Usage of so many recent parts (I think they used a boomerang for the head). I like that they reused the Titanium dragon, but don't understand why they didn't include the big wings. Of course you could just assume they will start growing, when the dragon gets bigger a shame that we don't get more baby dragons!
  7. I don't get why the dragon is so small? It isn't some kind of baby dragon right? I've got the Lion yesterday - so glad about the purchse, there's so much you could do with it! I also bought Geoffrey the Giraffe (50% off) to get some parts; I've spent about 12 hours modding the Lion: From no fantasy (removal of all translucent pieces & "wings") to saddleless.. The only thing I dislike, are the lack of teeth! Now I'm really hyped for the wolfe..
  8. Very unfortunate indeed. The bubble concept from the Tie Prototype or the Tie Advanced looked better than this. Worst part though are the exposed studs If it wasn't for the interesting minifigures and printed capes, I'd be 0 interested in the set.
  9. You should give it a try. There is a scene, like the one you propose, in S6, were Jay recruits side characters, because the Ninjas are captured: "Replacementninja-GO!" Chances for Characters like Misako, outside of these big sets are slim. I've read lots of articles from designers; they always love to include side characters, but target groups rather want the male Ninja's and some bad guys, instead of side characters. In the temple of resurrection, they even called Harumi, Huchkins and baby Wu side characters and the designer of it said, he just was able to include them, because it was a "big set". Not to mention Misako, the King, Queen or Royal guards.. I also think, Nya is quite unpopular for the target group. Shame I think, since Ninjago's feminism has actual feminist theory behind it, not just marketing reasons.
  10. Even the finished box art itself looked horrible to me. But ever since the first review, Lloyd's dragon became my alltime favourite set. And the only one I openly display, even for people that would find my hobby of Lego very odd I have many "artifacts" in my appartement, but the dragon gets the most attention. Sad we don't get more/better dragons this wave. Kai's dragon for example has very poor coverage of the legs. You can see so much of the colour fixed grey parts there. One of the reasons, why both of Lloyd's dragons were so good is the consistant colour scheme
  11. throne room set is so amazing!!! first I was just happy to get Skylor and Samurai X in a cheap set. Now I will get all the female characters in the 2nd cheapest set! - New Nya - Skylor with hair, maybe even with arm printing - Harumi - Samurai X For the first time though I don't like the dragons at all.. This will yet be the cheapest Ninjago wave for me
  12. Great, so I don't have 2 get dark tan legs with boots now ..since I still think dark tan fits Tarkins uniform better, to differentiate between the actual grey uniforms. His uniform was more olive-green-grey btw: no Rebels costume figures? We got some really great designs within the last episodes. I'll post my costume Kanan soon, but have no idea for
  13. It seems like Lego sold really bad in many German & Austrian stores - so since like half a year sets go on sale like crazy. Good for now, but bad for the future.. Stores that already sold their overstock, have reduced Lego to a very limited space now I'll post pictures of all my Ninjago Mech mods, once I find my imgur password again
  14. so we'll get Skylor, Samurai X AND new Harumi within the cheapest or 2nd cheapest set? That would be so amazing! Ninjago is the only theme where I collect most figures (since they are actually good, unlike lackluster-printed figures from SW or Superheroes..). Would be great to get most of them in just 1 set!
  15. You can simply search for: - book which contained concept arts - if u dont have the DVD, find some HD stream on the internet (not very hard) I myself found Cole's mech for 30$ yesterday (incredible, since it contains over 1100 parts!!), but I didn't find any good pictures with Dr google.. anyway, great that someone tries this! But be aware, the official sets are very big anyway, so I don't think bigger versions will be any stable.. btw: I costumized my Quake mech to get rid of most odd colours & gave it a Gundam-like head. Looks incredible now!
  16. Im ok with some of the issues.. but the lack of leg articulation just straight up sucks. Like you're not even able to "kick" anymore. If designers can't manage, they should bring out new technic parts for mechs, to allow for stability, articulation and decoration.
  17. I always wondered how 2 build a malachor playset. Would have been great 2 get an official one, even if it would have been that small..
  18. Bought my first Elves set yesterday: the Goblin Kings dragon. It was 50% off - like most Elves sets in Germany at some point. There are no messy colours (strange technic pins, strange colours on the sides, back or bottom), it's very smooth (nearly no anti-studs), very nice new parts & colours & the included cape is perfect for a X-Men Magneto. I began respecting Elves, ever since the blue-purple sailing ship, which unfortunately just stared at, instead of actually buying. Very glad I "stepped over the line" this time! The dragon can very much compete with a Ninjago dragon. In some ways inferior, in some superior. For a dragon collector a must-have at least! But I'm very disappointed about the lack of reviews of the latest wave! Haven'T seen a HD review of the sets yet!
  19. thank you so much! The process of a Lego product is, unfortunately sooo instransparent. I love whenever we get some insight, besides to the amazing concept art books. I know some Designers read forums & reviews, but the Lego community & TLG would be much closer, if there was more communication like this! Great that your design was chosen. I was afraid the Great hall would just be a messy playset, with no walls. With a theme like NK it is probably way harder 2 design something aestethic like this.. Susan Bones will be very appreciated by hardcore fans! Most of my AFOL-friends didn't spot her, but my Harry Potter friends did - many of them are saving money now - at least for the Great hall 2 questions: - Dumbledore was clearly some pre-version of the Michael Gambon actor. Was this changed in process because you wanted a parts 1&2 setting? or was the one from the toy fair really just a placeholder? - How did you choose to make "child variants" of the kids? Was it to save space or to reach another audience (because they look soooo adorable!)?
  20. just watched the latest Ninjago episode - it's amazing how much this feels like big cinema. And it's great how they preserve the characters of the Ninja. All of the main 3 villains so far are also very unique & interesting. If we get a few super strong emotional moments, this could be the best season yet.
  21. doesn't anyone get their hopes up - the chimera could be one last Rebels set? Since it is Thrawns ISD's name.
  22. I already got the temple for 45 & Nightcrawler for 22 - compared amazon price in Toys R us, while still using 20% discount on Ninjago sets. And this even though the original prices are amazing for Ninjago sets. In person, the details on the bikers is even more amazing. I kind of regret not getting the rest of the sets as well - but I can't start a biker collection as well, next to my dragon collection maybe you could build some kind of helmet around a 1x1 stud, with studs on the sides? The big wheel piece is the only thing keeping me from buying the set - it really destroys the first ever decent big-fig vehicle we got.
  23. oh I thought it was the other one! Now I understand the inclusion! But I would have rather seen him with his old hairpiece (black Luke hair). Would have made the figure so much more iconic.
  24. oh yeah - and what about apocalypse Mailman? mortal Morro Zane's father :'( Sons of Garmadon with the parade outfit/printed visor pieces (shame we didn't get those!!) Royal family - King & Queen Royal guards young version of the season 7 villain (don't know how 2 write the name..) some more pirates - there was much more diversity among the "army"; including some female punk.
  25. at the latest toy fair press conference, officials stated, that sales for SW sets - for the first time ever - decreased last year. One reason could be "overfeeding" us with sets, but still this correlates with other toy brands, which have problems getting rid of their mass produced toys for the latest movies. And like stated before, there are no reports of a V-Wing fighter or whatsoever - the throne room is the only set that got confirmation. (sry for offtopic posting, thought this could be of interest)
