  1. Richard Harris was lacking a cape for me - he looks so much better with one and Graves is my personal favourite figure - but they should have chosen the recent Dr. Strance hairpiece, including the side printing. Objectively I gotta choose: Hagrid (perfect in every way), Moody (spot on prints + perfect hair, even though Snape's hair piece would have been fine) and Hermione (looks sooo much like kid-Hermione, while Harry and Ron rather look like caricatures - which is still fine)
  2. Overlord figure leaked! It uses the ghost legs in purple-black combo, which looks great. New mold for the face would have been cool, but like this is also looks quite terrifying. anyway, most sets look very good, but an upgrated Samurai X, instead of a downsized one would have been cool. It was such an iconic mech, and a one time chance to bring it back. I'll stay curious for the final dragon, since all dragons for the last 4 years looked great and somehow unique
  3. and here I try again.. how do you know that? If you are such a big secret spy, maybe you can tell us here "sorry can't give away details, would risk sources"; or did you see the leaked figures in preliminary sets? Than you can specify that at least. Or maybe you know this from people who saw the sets? I know there are lots of people here with connections to TLG or to retailers/ and leakers. But whenever people give these extra mystical answers, I feel like, they want just attention. Just say what you can say, and why you can't say more, that gives more credibility, instead of this wanna-be tough mentality.
  4. can you guys and gals specify, rather than giving mystical answers? I can't really imagine a set outside of a D2C Ninjago yet, in which 7 yellow skinned asian clothed civilians would appear? like this - it would be nice if you could elaborate this answer
  5. Some civilian figs with asian-styled clothes have leaked - one Woman wearing a red flower dress. To me this heavily hints at another Modular Ninjago City set. The figs have yellow skin plus we rarely get civilians in normal sets. So that's good news!
  6. there's an ad out there about some building event where you can get an exclusive 2-1 build + a figure+poster. Not much more details other than that.
  7. and yet still I feel the urge to defend the Ninjago deaths. Sure they cheat, like most TV shows. But unlike an Avengers movie, where 8 characters die - and they are already advertising the next movies, of these actors - I feel like they handle it in a good way with Ninjago. Zane's death was incredibly emotional - you wouldn't expect this from an animated series about toy Ninjas. Garmadon basically died like 5 times (takeover by Overlord, Overlord death, bann into the cursed realm and his final goodbye - destruction of the cursed realm). And still, bringing evil Garmy back, doesn't spoil the emotion for me, when rewatching his previous demises. Zane's memory flashback also misleads you to think he is dead. Knowing he didn't die at all, doesn't bother the emotional impact the flashback has on me every time. Sure it's not the same as Game of Thrones or Attack on Titan - but for a tv show about toy Ninjas, they handle it damn well & don't shy away from very sad scenes. Not just it's style, but also it's spirit is very much inspired by far east Asian mythology and philosophy.
  8. these arms I wanna give him short legs, so he can be mighty micros-doc They aren't even fit for a Juniors set.
  9. I've spent the last 2 days building the set (with one person helping): - great hall is way smaller and looks far less detailed in person - great tower is incredibly big. Especially since the exterior is brick built it's just a very imposing view! - build was far nicer than I would have thought and very easy, compared to some $70+ sets. I think designers put some work into the instructions, so that repetitive parts can be built more efficient and diversified. - and once we put both parts together - I had to watch the build in silence for like five minutes. The constant colour scheme, the many building techniques to get the "towerish" shapes look like nothing I've ever seen before in Lego. Without glasses, I wouldn't even recognize this as Lego, from like a meter distance. Overall, if you are unsure to purchase this, you should at least see it in person somehow Also, I didn't have any problems with the bridge. There may be some stress, but it's very little.
  10. In Germany and Austria it's available for free, if you purchase a set over 40 bucks. Really cool figs, the side leg printing does a lot, shame they don't do it on regular figs.
  11. Just unpacked the new bricktober figures - they have incredible detail! - except for Nya ALL figures have side leg printing! This is the first time we get knee band-prints on the side, like they have it in the show. - Harumi's figure has very detailed arm and side leg printing, which I didn't see first on the pictures - like Nya, Rumi also has 2 faces. - the metal bat from the SoG bike member looks really cool in person. Face is a bit booring though will get a 2nd pack instead of the Marvel one, because prints will be so useful for costume figures.
  12. with different arms, the female CMF elf looks really good. But I will get enough CMF Dumbledores to make like 8 versions - including Jude Law version, flashback version and so on After all - in the movies he wore like pretty much the same 2 outfits, while in the book Dumby was famous for his ridiculous robes (including orange with flower kitting patterns ) Indeed, he wasn't bigger than Snape or the other teachers. But since he was skinny - and the CMF figure's accents (beard, hat) are quite wide, he does look tall
  13. thx for sharing the information you have. What I don't get is - how do we suddenly get so many expensive sets for a winter wave? Not that I mind, the summer wave was way too small for my taste. But for years now the most expensive winter wave sets were like $70 max.
  14. there are a bunch of pictures of this; search for Dumbledore Lego reddit maybe you'll find them I can't upload pictures here since I lost my imgur account. Anyway, I think it looks good, since the hat (like the beard) is too thick has a bigger distance to the printed beard/sideburns than the Richard Harris hairpiece. However, with just the hair Dumbledore is even smaller, therefore I have mixed feelings. I still use the CMF Elves dress with changed arms - that makes him taller, as he should be Anyway, if you don't find the pictures, maybe I can somehow send you.
  15. wow. I just clicked this because you are one of the few "alternative builders" of which I have seen some respectable creations before. I've looked for a reason to purchase the set so bad, since I want a decent Samuel L. Jackson head - you just gave me one It's not overly perfect, but at the size it doesn't need to be. And both colours and some features give it enough innovation to be it's own futuristic Enterprise. Looks stable enough as well - and being able to move the warp engines is cool too
  16. Disney has huge problems with SW merch - they sell loads of course, but on the toy market it's far less successful than they would have thought. Though I personally despise the new saga, I rather think the problems are unrealistic expectations they have of younger costumers, for which SW just isn't as popular, as the prequels were to the kids of that time and so on. Lego very passively acknowledged this fact in some statements. The special wording was very obvious communication to business-oriented people I think. I won't go into detail, but there's probably some grudge at TLG about getting ripped off from Disney. For such a big brand however the topic is very sensitive and therefore as a partner, you won't just piss off one of your most important partners - like Disney. They run kind of a "no negativity concept". Ninjago doesn't get much attention in "adult media", but it seems to be a very stable theme in many regions. I really hope the creators keep the universe running until it becomes a legend!
  17. Elves is such a great theme - it gave (RIP) so much variation to the standard building style colours. Like seeing the huge purplish staircase is just amazing! Nice to see some appreciation for a great theme, that would have had much more potential for many years.. oh and great text descriptions
  18. I also gave my Dumby the cape. Looks soooo much better with it on. Don't understand why Lego didn't put capes in the set.
  19. bricktober pack comes out where I live today can someone post pictures, if you have them? I won't buy them, not interested enough - but still wondering about more detailed pictures of the prints..
  20. Do we have any official information about the end of Elves yet? Didn't someone interested asked TLG at twitter or whatsoever? Elves sets in my nearby stores were on sale for some time - now many stores didn't even had the current sets. Elves were just randomly put between Friends sets.
  21. Lego in general is inconsistent with their "child friendly policy", when we are residing within a thin line. Unlike I expected, the UCS Hogwarts writting on the wall from CoS is written in red for example, now even if that was just paint, could be Mrs. Norris blood too. Anyway, I got the bricktober set today - Minifigs are very high quality. - So glad to get a Hooch and Slughorn - never would have thought the latter one could become a figure. - I became very fond of Snape's face, thought to prefer the old one, but in person it looks much better. Now we just need a propper black body! - Sad though Umbridge doesn't use the Midi-legs - I'm gonna switch her to yellow colour and use the small, pink and dual molded Lisa Simpson legs Since all surviving Toys R us stores will be renamed soon, some employees think we might not get such exclusive offers anymore
  22. purchase report: Vistited my Toys R us in hope of also getting Bricktober packs: they get them in 3 days! But of course I already had to get the great hall set (kind of stupid, in 3 days I'd have gotten a 15$pack for free added to it, but I just had to get it now ) The CMF packs were at the cash - so since the employees were very nice anyway, I asked if I can feel some of them (normaly not allowed and they are very unfriendly at Toys R us, but this time some of the empolyees flirted with me anyway ) - they just sent me in a corner with alle boxes & I immediately felt 2 Percival Graves in the left corner at the back. Thx for the people pointing this out! Now I can make myself a propper Stannis Baratheon (grey-black hair), Colin Farrell, Grindlewald (don't like the face in the other set+ it's expensive) and just Graves himself
  23. this is the Tie we should have gotten with Solo. I wanted to purchase the latest one and thought "ok I'll just modify this and this..", but after seeing a few reviews of it... I found myself wondering "ok I will have to pretty much redesign the whole thing". Often I think bad sets are made due to limitations given to very capable designers. But with the latest Tie, I thought after one point: "wow, I can't understand any of the design choices at all. Like the blocky sections at the top.
  24. good one I guess they could do a whole CMF of "Ninja in disguise" sets Anyway, I also find the lack of more S9 sets disturbing. This summer wave had less sets than normal. There would be so much more potential for figures as well. Faith without armor/gear, Elemental Masters, Mystake, ... I don't get why they did less sets/less big sets. Does anyone have a theory on that?
  25. why no more microscale sets? Why can't normal sets coexist with microscale ones? If you don't like them, it saves you money. Since I doubt they would bring out a "Hogwarts castle backside microscale set", for like 300$, I think it would have been a better choice, giving us something like a small quidditch pitch. That would go with the UCS set.
