the obsession with minifigures has made many here blind and egocentric. I can relate to this, but I also know that I'm not alone in the world. If you rather would like a playset similar to cloud city - that's totally fine. Maybe they'll bring something like it out in a few years. But for this particular set they focussed on exterior. And to the designers, I'm very very greatful: - they put in so much more interior detail, than they needed to. Like Star Wars, because of the brand, they could have sold it for 500 as well and it would still be a much better deal than CC. CC price/part: 12,4 ; Hogwarts: 6,6 - nearly double the pieces for what you pay - even though "Harry Potter" is quite popular for overpricing - why do you think it's ugly? It's not perfect, but still the most detailed version yet. I dare you to send me proof of a better MOC! I think I know every MOC, that has been published on the internet. None are even close to this one.

Since the reboot-set list seems to be real: the obvious question is: how do they fit into the story of comming episodes? Will there be time travel involved? Maybe with the S7 villains? Will we get new outfits with the "old" sets? Or just redesigns? It still seems odd to get so many expensive sets for a winter wave.

Not a fan of nanofigs, but you could have never represented the incredible size with minifigscale. How would any of you have done the yard or the bridge? The minifigscale great hall has a yard as large as my balcony. For a UCS set this would be ridicolous. I'd like to modify it, but how? If you make it taller, it will get awkward in proportions with the great hall. the set we got looks incredible, instead of just being a plaset. Maybe we'll get a Death Star type Hogwarts at some point as well. But I prefer the gigantic looks of this one. I don't even get why the back should be closed. Since many buildings behind the ones represented are missing, it wouldn't even make sense to me in the first place.

I asked this question a few times, so I try asking again: Does anyone know how to get a full CMF box in middle Europe, specific Germany? Can you purchase one in a Toys R us? Because I asked, and they said this is not possible. And all places on the internet either are selling them overpriced or would need to ship from the US. Does anyone have a hint for me?

I don't get the debate here. Some see definite evidence for the death of Elves, other's are more patient. But everyone - including the pesimistic ones are paying the theme respect here. If you are angry, go to Lego and beg for some more sets.

well Lloyd didn't get a shooter either, cause they were just for Ninjas trapped in the first realm. But I do think they rather not sell Nya focussed sets, since Ninjago has boys as main target group. Ironic since Ninjago has become quite Feminist. Nya's whole character arc includes very intelligent feministic topics. Still, if they don't give us a propper Nya dragon before Ninjago ends, I'd be really sad..

Now I see it. In the link, theres a picture of the set seperated. And behind the Key room, you can see there exists another room, can't figure out any detail, other than there's some green in it. So we all know what it should be ;) about the prints: they just gave the figures a certain style, that isn't consistent through the line. the HP sets go partly for realism, partly they are less accurate and rather "childish and funny", which is totally ok and actually looks sweet I think. Some CMF's face designs do really look strange. I wanna add that Dumbledore's face doesn't resemble the actor all that well + the beard is way too think (Petruvious beard mold in grey would probably look better) and the beardless spot between hair and face is totally awkward as well as unnecessary - since they did 2 new molds anway That being sad, figures are not perfect, but still very good and I can't wait to get my hands on them.

LEGO Ninjago 2018
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
I just saw the Dieselnaut at a friendsplace (he doesn't have any Lego at all, got it because of his Mad Max hobby ) - never liked it that much, even find it lacking waay too much in terms of functions, but after seeing it: really looks good. And not as oversized, as I thought. Will purchase it once on sale for sure- 2,384 replies

Elves - like Ninjago would have had years of of potential ahead. Never thought it would be possible that I'll buy something, until I saw one of the dragons on a shelf. It gave me the courage to purchase a set on sale. Only then I saw that there's no other theme, where they put so much energy in aesthetics. Even on different angles, like downside. I wonder how they're gonna replace it. Maybe "Girls" themes, other than "Friends" just don't sell well enough. So sad, imagine all the dragons or animals we could have gotten. Like a whale, bears or other animals. RIP and my respect for the designers!

Wizarding World of Harry Potter Wishlist
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Falconfan1414's topic in LEGO Licensed
There are probably like 40 figures, that would be more likely than a Xenophilious Lovegood. Also don't think a Lavender Brown is that likely. And Lockhart & Myrtle would be sure figures in future CoS sets. Also not very likely, but I'd love figs like afterlife Dumbledore, flashback Dumbledore, Fudge, Scrimjaw, Aberforth -
look at the Whomping Willow set and how it connects to the Great hall. this is not the standard of quality Lego has set for UCS style sets. I mean the yard in front of the great hall is laughable! As well as the tiny walls or "Great tower". Don't get me wrong, love the system scale sets, but whenever they make something in minifigscale, it's way too cramped and exterior suffers heavily from it. They will probably release another clocktower etc. at some point anyway, if you're happy with that that's fine. But some people would like a decent yard, or the bridge - which you could never ever make in a set in system scale. This is the best you'll get in a system scale set: the UCS set is 400€ - 100€ less than the Star Wars Death Star, but it includes more pieces (6.000), many of them are even very big. That's incredibly cheap compared to other sets. Not even considering this is an expensive license

- Dark tan for the large rock pieces is a horrible choice, way too little contrast with the castle. Would need at least 5 in dark grey too compensate. - Very much dislike that at least half of what should be there is missing - including clocktower, wodden bridge, astronomy tower, Quidditch section.. but the compromise is very understandable, size & quality of what we get is very very good. Better than any Moc actually. If the castle would be completed, you could probably add another $200 and remove some play features. 400 is already my limit Therefore, my thanks to the team of Lego for making this dream come true

aaand the list of wanted figs/sets is growing: - decent Mystake - Oni with the cool horn piece! - little Wu! - Kimono Nya & Lloyd - especially Nya would be cool, she used that outfit in S8 as well - rice hat with molded hair is long overdue.. - variety of hunters, but most of all: Faith's head piece!! Really hope for some more sets in the Winter wave - like buggy or another dragon including Faith- 2,384 replies

LEGO Ninjago 2018
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
the last couple of episodes really got me into buying the Oni Titan once I have time. It's role becomes much more iconic, than in S8 Finale and the animation of it is top. Funny though that it's the only set that was actually very present, accurate & important in the show - unlike all the other sets. Even though it's exclusive. btw: Finale of S9 is out tomorrow - I feel kind of stupid as an adult, but the show is just amazing. So much Oriental philosophy, so many unexpected twists. Could become my favourite season yet. Sry for offtopic, but its sad how little people know & can appreciate this diamond.- 2,384 replies

there are costumized Dementors using the new "ghost legs" with the old cape piece. Colour or printing aside, the lack of the old cape is really a big step down. It was just perfect for them. The cape they use now looks just horrible I don't understand why you would make that decision as a designer? How can you not look at the old figure and think "hmm that new one is quite the opposite of an improvement"

Dammit! Right after Dumbledore, Graves is my most wanted figure... Getting a Colin Farrel figure, the printed hairpiece, a propper Grindlewald.. Now I'm really thinking about buying a complete box. At least I could use every figure there & the spares would be great gifts. Anyone know's where to get boxes in Germany and for how much probably?

in the new Harry Potter CMF series, they just revealed "mid sized legs", which are a bit bigger than the "kids legs" but still have movability. This opens up so much possibilities...
-
at closer look: first time new "smaller legs" for the students! They are not normal sized, but bigger than usually and seem to have movability

Curious as to what we might get, I've looked online for all Hogwarts MOC's I expect something like this: I assume the scale will be bigger - microscale, like Helicarrier, so I wonder how much terrain we'll get. This moc looks really nice on display, but If 40-60% of pieces go into mountain terrain, people here will be too mad I guess this one should express how impossible a decent D2C in system scale would be: even if you cut down the mountain terrain, you'd easily be at 5.000 pieces with just sections of the moc. Plus Lego would never use so many "cheap" big pieces, without any texture. The style of natural terrain here could be another option for the D2C set: more pieces for the castle, but much harder to transport and without any of the surrounding things; Quidditch, hagrits hut, forrest etc... this would have been the only option of how to do a system scale set within 500$ price range, though I feel like this was always unrealistic, since just about 4 rooms are possible in that scale and with available pieces.

LEGO Star Wars 2018 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to MKJoshA's topic in LEGO Star Wars
noone posting videos here, of that channel that has a 360 of every SW set? Some years ago I went to EB to get news, now I have to dig out most of it for myself.. -
u have to accept, that there is a big base of people rather wanting a complete Hogwarts in microscale, instead of like 4-6 great hall-like rooms, which are decent, but not even Modular-standard quality. For the rumored price, there's even potential for a nice base of mountain terrain, bit of forrest, bridges etc. I wouldn't buy such a set, but probably more people will rather have such a beautiful piece on their table, instead of what the ~50 people here want.

LEGO Ninjago 2018
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Peppermint_M's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
well they always say this about their show. People from Star Wars Rebels also assured us that Disney pumped in a lot of money for a long run. But Ninjago is like a gold-grave - it's TLG's flagship of their own advanced themes. And it's one of the few stories that still has tone of potential, even though we're through 9 differenc scenarios of villains & stories. So I really hope for another few seasons, with spin-offs afterwards. The potential is there for sure. And we haven't had like a "adventure-arc" with visiting other realms yet, other than s9, which only plays partly in another realm- 2,384 replies

yeah sure it'll be Hogwarts ...however, I haven't seen a thread with so many fake news as this one. Remember fake CMF list, fake Great hall description? Fake Knight bus? Noone knew about the Express set, until it surfaced.
