  1. if its a fake its done very convincing. The left leg print is the exact same of the last figure, just with a slight colour change. The right leg and hop print are slightly different. I think as all Mandalorian figures it looks great but I would have gone with dark brown or black for the jumpsuit colour. Arm printing isnt something we can expect - but sooome more helmet detail would be nice.. If this is legit and the same figure of the 30$ set (if its not the old figure again ) I would put the apocalypse Abraham Lincorn CMF arms and aply some paint or sticker to the shoulders. That would look quite good.
  2. Im pretty done with Lego - or at least Lego SW But I did invest a lot in the Crest and extra parts, to smooth it out. Now I would also like a propper Mando. Can any of you tell me about a reliable site to order costume parts? I dont really have faith in TLG making a better helmet..
  3. if we again get no updated Mando figure as well as no Moff Gideon until summer or next year.... Most this set needs to do is giving us full bescar Mando and two more figs; idealy Gideon or any new character and possibly again Cara Wouldnt even be too weird - we never got a proper S2-4 Sabine (with helmet) or Ezra for Rebels another question: do you guys and gals think Lego would updated the Mando helmet? Since it's missing the "comb" at the top and is quite minimalistic.
  4. Wow thanks for this hint to smooth out the canopy. I fixed mine together with bars on the inside - now I did combination of both; from outside it looks way better and is stll stable enough. I also modified the guns. Now almost nothing on the exterior is as it was. I hope I can find a way to upload pictures of my almost studless Crest.. Only things which still bother me: engines (way too small, and underdetailed at the rear) and the back part of the "wings". According to source material, this part should be angled upwards and not downwards as it is. Just I dont know how I can properly change it at the moment because it would be in conflict with the rest of the body Also as the model is almost studless - I am thinking on completely changing all plates at the bottom with inverted sloaps and tils with smooth bottom (if that is how one can describe the pieces). Then the model would be as perfect as it can be within the given structure and size
  5. oh shoot Im sorry y'all I thought stating that they reuse the colour fixed rubber bands would make it obvious that this was sarcasm. It was supposed to parody how people speculated how much new molds TLG could save by reusing pieces.. sorry didnt mean to misslead anyone thought it is obvious.
  6. best example is the Snowspeeder. Or actually any speeder or smaller Walker. Here I understand a bit the details, building experience, features and stability, which they want for child-products. But the sets dont speak to me. Look at any decent Snowspeeder MOC - they are smaller and dont have anything in common with the official ones. Let's see how the X-Wing and Tie will turn out. Maybe they will be better than the 70-100 € ones
  7. There was just a leak on instagram of a torso and a hairpiece - it appears they reuse the same pieces but you have to wrap around a rubber band 2 times. Unfortunately rubber bands only come in blue and white so there's that... Anyhow nothing is limitless but Ninjago is trying. If it doesnt sell they would maybe at first make it smaller. Not since the computergame season it does seem a liiiiittle scaled down. But we'll see. other plot points missing: Jays eyepatch (I know S7 but still), Zanes background; who was the visitor that gave him the power. And characters. There's soooo many characters. Every season I wait for reuse of forgotten, really well written characters. But no they introduce new ones all the time. Akita and her brother, the race car driver from video-game season, Skylor, the 3 power guys from last season. There is soooo much potential. Also they could completely change the theme with a time skip where the Ninjags become masters or something and have new students. So I dont know - Ninjago is the only non generic theme of Lego that doesnt make them totally dependent on licenced themes..
  8. I completelx removed the middle technic structure. I feel it is completely unnecessary - the model holds very well without it. I get that for kids who smash stuff on the floor it made sense. But it was stable enough so it could fall down a bit for me as well. This is the first non-BP SW set I purchased since a long time. Except for the front and back of engines I think it's really great. It's not even that big but holds much more space than any other ship except for the Falcon maybe. I also really appreciate the inclusion of the escape pod. I modded the **** out of it - like 30% of the parts I didnt even use but instead I took apart many other sets. - without the middle structure its much easier to get in your hands - colours fit (95% light grey) and dont change pattern like on a cat. - almost studless. With some newer pieces I could even make the curved pieces look pretty smooth. - escape pod I turned into a shuttle - when put in the Crest it looks the same from any angle - greebling beneath the shuttle - 2 aditional spaces behind the ship for greebeling. I used some of the technical structure for that, which I slightly changed - technic structure behind cockpit removed so now much more acress - and as some posted before also a ladder. - the most difficult thing was fixing cockpit pieces together, as they have both anti-studs facing each other. I used small lightsaber pieces with clips and hinged it together. Quite sturdy but does any of you have another alternative? I would like to post the set but I dont want to go through all that regestration stuff - if anyone is interested, maybe I can sent pictures otherwise. Due to life changes this will be my last set - I am grateful for the product Lego has put out and even more happy how I could modify it. Now I just gotta spend 5 hours putting all the extra pieces away again
  9. the thing is the "newer" and more expensive sets are not more accurate. The ressistance X-Wing for example should be smaller and much more compact. Instead it always reused the same design as the OT X-Wing. The T-Fighter for Solo was absurdly complex but non of the design choices make any sense. Colour and shape of many parts were still wrong - they had a slightly smaller base design, which was used for the Rebels T-Prototype and Vader's Tie. There was no reason to change it. It looked worse and used more parts.
  10. I love to compare them. It's the only thing probably where I have a complete collection. However with EB you cannot upload pictures if you dont have imgur or flickr etc. Since I forgott data of my old accounts I will not start a new one. Otherwise I'd be sharing many things here, including my small asian-city layout, modded sets etc.
  11. I just built and modded the new Bounty - it's once again amazing. Having now all three (bigger) versions of it next to each other - each with different accents of colours and so on. In particular I think: - the dragon head looks even much more better in person; the first really good one on a bounty. - the hull decoration is the best so far - the mechanism for the turbines may take lots of space + parts - however it is really a smooth mechanism if built correctly. I wonder just how kids can play with it - once the activate the mechanism, the bounty cannt stand anymore without stand and it's surely too heavy for kids to hold. negative: - the "house" could have been done more stable, it's annoying always fixing like 8 moving parts. - I almost didnt look at the figures; except for Lloyd nothing special there. I wish they would have given them the old heads for once. Or at least the new or old hairpieces. But for such an amazing set to carry just the same overused suits again....
  12. it was really an amazing theme. I felt weird purchasing the first set - it was the lime green dragon 50% off. But it was soo good. Afterwards I managed to purchase most dragons on sale - including the Queens dragon, in a store for only 30€, when the set was already sought after for large sumes... Im thinking on selling them though since I will move and have lack of space. I live in Austria - contact me and I'll think about it. Queen's dragon would be a really hard sell though, it's for sure among the 3 best dragons ever. What I liked most about the dragons is how fluent the colour schemes were - especially on the underside. No other theme did this so well.
  13. Im not defending a capitalistic-child toy company But the interpretations here are waaay off. With weird sets like the Quadjumper or this huge transport ship from the Solo movie - they try to get sooooomething out of the new movies, as well as the new market comming with it. It's horrible sets still. The twin-pod car or the Wookie-Catamaran were released only with their specific movies and never again - cause it probably was the same situation. And I never read out in no interview out that the designers are super nerds. They research a bit, mostly concept art, they know the movies. But I doubt they know all the shows and video games, where a product is popular. And do we know if the video game players are similarly strong basis of purchasing Lego sets, as kids are, who just saw movies? I would like numbers for that. The problem is how sets are built today: SW has a 15-35 % tax, sets are with way more parts, many times oversized - the last Tie was 70? So A Defender would probably be 90-100? The Tie Bomber has two cockpits, which are both larger than the standard Tie one's - 110-120?. The last Vader's Tie Fighter was actually undersized (solar panels to short, back of the undersides half built and undersized). It used the same basic cockpit structure as the Tie-Prototype. After this they changed the Tie design weirdly enough. Now it looks less round, less accurate and contains much more parts. So the problem is how and why they build sets this way now. I think they could also do a chibi-Tie Bomber, like the they did with Vader's Tie's for the castle and Death Star sets. But then again when they release a cheaper, chibi-like set as with the droid-tanks - people here riot. So I already see it comming: if th
  14. there has always been characters that would deserve a minifigure but dont get one. Or we get 1-2 minions representing a diverse "cast" of figures with interesting recolours of hair pieces. Our only chance are bricktober-kind of packs. So far I really like the season - without this chat I wouldnt have even thought it came out yet! - season 11 had probably the worst writing so far but it had also strong points. - s12 was better but the ending was super rushed as in s11. Overall I feel like Ninjago contains its amazing spirit but they have a smaller writing team so some things are rushed, dialouges and character developements as well. It's a shame since I think s8-9 were incredible but I still enjoy the show. Just having watched half of s13 - Star Trek, HE-Man, Lord of the Rings references - its just sooo good and yet marketable for children. This theme is really a hidden gem. The few friends I could convince to give it a try love it ever since - some with no connection to Lego.
  15. So of course overpriced and so on but best wave since years: final duel is indeed an improvement! Vader update, more space, the whole scene looks much better with the side add ons The blue transport ship looks also decent - not so much interior but at least no visible holes, not so many exposed colours. I dont care at all about sequel ship BUT it really seems to cover a lot of detail. Making more space for figures would mean loosing the propper proportions. So you guys and gals want it at a higher price point, worse looks or what?
  16. interesting how nobody complaines here about reuse of Shak Ti's lekku piece for Ashoka. Back when it was used for her older Rebels variant, peopel complained super hard. Now she is even younger and it fits even less. Of course its a good thing people are just happy about a good thing; which is that we do get an Ahsoka figure at all. Still I would have liked propper new Lekku piece or at least the old version reused. Unfortunate also that she seems to yet again not have pupils. I dont get why they keep doing this only for our female SW alien figures! - The ressistance ship looks good and usable! - final duel: Well probably they bring this out cause they expect it to sell better than TROS final duel set. And if you already have it, fine for you - set is probably made for many people who didnt buy the last one. And what other figures could they have included? Stormtrooper who didnt appear in the scene? Palpi's politician friends which will never see a figure? In any case this is the best SW wave I've seen for a long time.
  17. me too since i think she has a well written character however I think its nothing new; she was the focus in the ghost season and at least one of the more important Ninja in many other seasons - hands of time with Kai, skybound she had much more screen time than the other Ninja except for Jay - and in the latest season she also survived longest next to Jay. I think Nya had many strong story arcs. Obviously I'll not complain about more to come
  18. jezzzz so much pessimisn. People say Ninjago went to far since what - season 3 or 4? I am also sad about loss of quality sometimes (change in directors).. ..but so far they did almost everything really well - which cartoon about mecha-Ninjas based on a "spinner" game can maintain such high quality for so long? and they could always make a side leap to european medevil, vampires, seamonsters etc. - and go back to the roots a season later. If you dislike something; safe some money for one wave. And the comming wave is the first time they REALLY divert a lot from eastern asian lore.
  19. no the prices are probably normal I calculated the hungarian prices a few pages back into Euro and at least on that basis the sets have standard prices. Not Ninjago cheap but pretty standard. As people said; if you recalculate prices from a region where theres 20-30% increase back to dollar - then it's always gonna be like this. And if we go further: for example people say Lego is cheaper in the US. No - some sets are, some arent. City and Creator sets are mostly cheaper in Germany. SW is more expensive in Germany. It's complicated.
  20. does anyone have information about the current CMF release? Stores in most European countries have opened again yet I cannt find the figures anywhere
  21. but yet they are lower. The "jet" should be around 50 € in Germany, bike 30, boat 150, mech between 120-130 - all within reasonal range. Not as low as Ninjago or Movie sets - but similar with only a few sets with m a higher price than piececount.
  22. I never got the first bounty - with TLNM one and ghost-wave one; this Legancy version would also be different enough. I am split between this and the Creator pirate ship. Just a shame there seems to be no interior at all. At least the mittdle and rear section could have had some interior like 1-2 beds and some storage. I wonder how easy it's gonna be to modify. And Interestingly they dont show all features; the front side rockets can extend from body but its not shown how to put them in/out. So maybe hope isnt dead yet Also unfortunate kid-Lloyd is the only special figure. That Jay figure has nur appeared in sooo many sets. Shame they didnt give the Ninja their original faces and hairpieces. about the other sets: - finally a cheap way to get Wu again! Also interesting: the dragon is really decent for 20(!) while we got really such bad creatures (HH dragon in Harry Potter for 35...) in other sets. - I like the reuse of pieces. Yes new molds are cool, but what about all the never reused molds? Ghost wave had so many pieces, never or barely reused again. We want more recolours of cool pieces! - we get 4(!) Nya's this wave instead of just 1-2 - Zane's rhino would look much better if it hadnt all these colours; especially the technic pieces and white stand out.
  23. I would love this to be true and it can be true but it still is wishful speculation. The piece resembles perfectly what it is used for: for the staff and holding flags better. Theres no texture in it, its not dual molded (having for example black hilt with silver ends and some silver buttons in between the hilt). Experience tells us, over the last years: we get general sets with generic figures. Only in certain situations did Lego diverge from this - and then it was mostly weird sets like the General Grevious speeder. We get awesome 501 set; I hope for Rex - and maybe even Ahsoka and Cody. Maybe Lego will get weird again and give us someone/something less important but non of these characters. In any case I doubt they put much faith or effort in TCW; a kind of adult show (yes it is; episodes about banks, taxes, parliamentarism, violent sociopaths like Maul, mutilation and so on...) If we do get any of those - or even more characters; Id be pleasently surprised of course. Maul was already in the activity book btw. Maybe they wanted to throw it in for us - maybe it was a coincidence. only positive clue: for generic figures, they wouldn't need much print/mold budget so they'd only benefit from making random sets more attracktive for hardcore fans and potential new fans. ...but then again in the past they sometimes used that molding for random things like the monkey's from Solo or like so many molds for Rogue One soldiers. ....and we already got Anakin+Obi Wan in a cheap set. So either a repeat or another important figure... - maybe Yoda again I just wish I'd have picked up that stupid Barc-speeder with an awesome Rex on sale years ago (no the set was actually quite decent*)
  24. answer is probably everything. Ninjago speaks to eastern asian market in general - but making it more specific wont hurt. Its also still open enough so that it could - if successful - fill a hole if Ninjago were to phase out. But since they can reuse Ninjago for pretty much everything and it has established products in TV, online and so on - I wouldnt know how they phase it out that soon. Right now they just started getting weird - going gamer; next going European medevil, they can also go full sci-fi, sea battle or monster/kaiju. simple city sets may sell well but due to rise of digital entertainment Lego has to step up their game as long as it wont become replaced by apocalypse or 3D printers. So city sets now get more personalized, more action features (catch the shark, explore Mars, etc.). I believe Duplo, City, Friends and Ninjago are the non-licenced foundations of Lego...
