LEGO Ninjago 2021
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
naaaaa. I get what you mean. But the sets are always a joke in the show! They get one "aaaw moment" and then they fall to pieces. If you wanna make look something cool you want it to look more useful and have a bit of a better downfall. Like Coles last mech or Lloyds golden mech - they were literally falling to pieces . Im not saying you are completely wrong overall or that there is no commercial factor. I just think the show is barely desinged to focus around toys. Cause many times the overall message disputes that - like masters of mountains, Coles swords and mech broke immediately and was in the end just symbolism. Same with the golden master armor thingy from "hunted". -

Descriptions were leaking often - its easy to avoid reading them though. And the plot often is easy to foresee anyway (at least since season 10). But it is weird that the sets werent revealed yet. I get that theres contracts and other reasons - like Lego wanting the current sets to be purchased before we start saving money for the new ones. But isssh when the freaking pictures come out.. This I dont remember -> seeing the sets in the show before any official pictures come out. -
LEGO Star Wars 2021 Set Discussion - READ FIRST POST!!!

Why would they not do helmets? Did I miss this info? Anyway, Gar Saxton is supposed to come with new helmet mold with horns. Mandy products. or whoever that was said that I think in this one long video about sets. About mold budget: people said the same in other themes. As far as I can see sometimes people dont calculate the new parts for sets - like the one for X-Wing or the Ninjago cockpit and many dragon molds. But yes, overall it's weird. I still dont get, why they didnt do a new Mando helmet mold. -

Harry Potter 2021 - Rumors & Discussion

Well I made layout plan once but many people realized it from mocs or mod's of the existing minifig scale sets (I did the same). Basically all you need are the great hall, the other sets and add backsides to them, with some sets more "core" (like womping willow set which was quite hollow). And then you need a "rock base". From interviews we know the great hall was supposed to be added later to the chamber of secrets. So I imagine great hall + great tower + chamber of secrets as a 200-350 set + the other sets around 200 each to get at least the layout of the UCS nanoscale hogwarts in minifigure scale. Would probably end up being But hey, we can try to already build it ourselves. Every new set gives us tan pieces needed. -

naja the sets are much more colourful, it will not be a pain to add/modify them towards each other, minifigures are still not as it could be but huge step up (since the 2nd wave it seemed like there was no more budget for figures). Oh yeah and its much easier to add play features. In the other hogwarts sets there were practically none. I will not get any of those sets and the looks are not my style. But objectively I can admit this might work better than the realistic ones. Who knows - in a few years we might get D2C minifigure scale set of Hogwarts. Like the last waves of hogwarts sets but a bit more defined; would mean slightly bigger with rock base foundation (like the UCS nanoscale hogwarts). That way they could try to recreate the castle -

Though, that is a normal season? I think sets are mostly the same. Some mech, some dragon, some temple (soo many temples!!!), some car, some bike, some big thing like Bounty, location set or big car thingy. You got a mix of creatures and ghosts or whatever for villain figures. Stone Samurai, Ice Samurai, Robot-ninja, what's normal in ninjago Only with our ninja suits we had a shift since prime empire. And interestingly we didn't get any "normal" suits since then. They still reuse the s11 suits, allthough those sets should not be available anymore. Storywise: in Prime Empire theres a Zane detective side plot, in s3 they went to space - in almost any season theres some underwater-scene. So much weirdness in this show I could never say what is normal -

of course I am. But still it should be in the financial interest of Lego to make a better homepage overall, it aint just b&p. What do you mean with backorders? Also I dont complain so much about the lengh of orders. This is just due to real constrictions. But again, the page itself could be done better. It's beyond my understanding that the largest toy company has such an old fashioned homepage overall. -

The figs look super fake. Still too similar design to former figures and also colours look off. Maybe they are just knockoff figures. -

It all comes down to what is possible and what the company wants. As you can see, the cast and producers have (had) many plans - even for spin off's - and enthusiasm. But since "season 10", the quality has been decreased, studios for animation changed. Some pros, many cons. I think at least the current season looks quite promising in terms of plot and animation. If you like futuristic submarines, wou will get some. If you are a kid, liking mechs and cars, you will get some. And if you like classic genres - you will also get something. People complaining forgett, that without ninjago the only "era" designs we'd get (aka Atlantis, medevil, pirates and so on) are from Creator+Ideas. I would also really like the setting you proposed. But it will all depend on a company man or woman saying to an artist (designer): yes or no, this market wants something else. -

all we want is to get products from the company more convenient. I dont know what trouble there is in the background, especially with consumer bevahiour chaning faster than TLG can adjust - or Covid overall. But I hope at least they change something/improve something. That Lego page in every way feels like straight out of the 2000's. -
Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces

I really hope Lego fixes the parts-shop. Its so frustrating to purchase like this. website going down, order lost, parts not being available. Even if they would make a special tax for the orders (which I understand, as it requires a person taking sometimes individual pieces from many different factories into one bag) or they make it exclusive to certain memberships which we could buy also. I don't know; just if they would make it easier for us to buy things from them and take our money! I try to order as little as possible form bricks & pieces, because every purchse is so annoying and anytime pieces are missing, while I get many extra pieces from probably other people! -

oh for sure!! Just I think her gun metal grey+dark azure scheme doesnt simply combine 2 great colours but also they fit with each other. And I love getting different molds with those specific colours and combine with old outfits (: It's a habit of minifigure collectors I guess, to put different pieces, from different waves and try with the older outfits. If they change her colour scheme permanentely, it would dominish any potential. I dont mind any one-time changes - actually I welcome them. Like her Legacy outfit, which was a flashback to her first ninja outfits. I would also like her to get a proper Samurai X outfit. They could redo her Mech properly and create finally a new mold for helmet/mask. The Samurai X picture yu posted is still the most accurate Samurai depiction in Lego so far. _____________________________________________ scuba-suits: Cannt we just wait until we have figure in hands? Many times people were ranting for weeks, based on leaked pictures where a helmet thingy wasnt even put on properly. Maybe it also depends on shouldder attatchement or so. For the newest pictures, I think they look good already; not my cup of tea but for sure interesting. Most of all I love that we get new belt pieces! I just hope the bigger set pictures leak soon. I am really curious about the final design of the Bounty. -
Not to beat a dead horse but... https://brickset.com/article/58772/has-vidiyo-flopped-already I think I would only get certain figures at around 5 bucks. It's like dimensions. Cool figures, but never even considered getting one of them. At one point they were on clearance so hard: the bigger sets I could get for like 15 bucks and the minifigure packs were like CMF's, even though they also included builds. In some stores here they still can be seen lying around.

Though I do hope they go back to her colours. Firstly, Nya had way too many colour changes - red+dark red, black+dark green and gold; then dark red+ dark azur; then these colours were mixed with gun metal grey - and then only dark azure and gun metal grey. Jay's got dark blue as secondary colour already - dark azure and gun metal grey are striking and unique colours. Dark blue we got plenty times. That being said; the "water"-figure itself looks phantastic. I hope to get it somehow; but spending 100 bucks for a set.. lets see... -

I really hope so but there is no indication. I can say for sure the water dragon will have at least another "hero" figure; most likely another ninja. But in pictures at least we didnt see who it was and in what form. We will get Nya in Kai's dragon set, the Bounty and the temple. I assume it is also her in the dragon set but could simply be the diving suit form. Aaaaaaah this is a good year for Nya-figure collectors such as myself but a bad year for our pockets. Naja, at least all the builds would be pretty good. Now I gotta smuggle all those sets unnoticed around my partner somehow.... -

Wow! I was just looking at random shots without spoiling the story to see outfits and sets better. So the Bounty could really serve as some kind of Submarine or futuristic submarine. That's a first - we only ever got one miniscale submarine for the Creator line like 20 years ago! And the Maya outfit is great as well. So if I want Maya, the water dragon, Nya in all her forms - I might need to get the Waterdragon, the Hydrobounty, Wohira set, Kai's dragon (hairband for Nya)...... -

All Snapies were fine. Just Like Tommy he is a downgrate from the last figure and people scratch their heads cause of this. I also think the former Snape figs looked better. My rendition uses the new head, black soft cape, TLBM Alfred collar piece and the oldest Snape torso/leg prints. But I also think they never got the body printing right. Also I don't know why they never use capes in Harry Potter '19. With Tom its the same. Why does Lego ever do this "cape part printed on front of the legs" thing? It doesn't make much sense and it never looks good. But it is as it is. -

SW CMF would be such a hard thing. Lego ain't fandom so could be we'd get just our main group with some side characters - representations of characters we know already. Would be a waste for some, to get a CMF, just to have the good EP IV Luke with side leg printing or something. But could be anyway. TCW or Rebels is something I would wish for but I believe it to be impossible. Maybe a small inclusion. But mostly we will get figures through the new TV shows. In any case: - Saw Gurerra never got a figure and I doubt Lego could do him justice without putting in a lot of effort. - Padme, mostly the never released EP I version. And yes that is just stupid. We also got the Naboo police folk, pilots and others. So why never Padme WITHOUT belly free shirt or dress? (Ok we did get one neutral version in TCW <3) - Mando figs as mentioned. Would also not be some wishful thinking but realistic. - Obi Wan never got a good figure actually. I mean the old one. like others pointed out, its hard to say where the line could be. Any way would of course be super controversial and 90% of the fanbase would be pissed. If I were Lego I'd try to do a general CMF with one representation of the main characters (OT: Luke, Han, Vader with broken armor, Leia, maybe Obi; young Obi, some Anakin, Padme, Yoda, some Jedi - and then you have like 3 slots for troopers and "niche" figures). -

Some better pictures of the prelims surfaced. I just saw great hall and the Fluffy set. I wouldnt buy Harry Potter sets anyway anymore (money..) but I think they really dont look good. Im ok with the idea. But Lockhart looks bad, Riddle looks bad, and both Basilisk and Fluffy are not good builds. I even like the head use and everything for the Basilisk - but the middle body section looks really bad.. -

I remember so many waves (Skybound comes to mind) where anyone expected different story and sets. And look what crazy stuff we end up happening. I don't know if anyone ever guessed correct (before leaks, descriptions, etc.), except for the easy waves for shorts - like day of the departed, march of the Oni or Seabound. Heres just another post of mine, hoping the new season is not just a few episodes. That would really mean the end of the end of ninjago as a series in my view.... -

so far I didnt see any of the new pieces. Always out of stock. But I looked just 2-3 times in the last weeks. Without going into spoilers: many characters - or creatures seem to have certain arcs going on. But not a single one really makes a lot of sense or comes to fruition. I really think they did a good job with what they had. But what they had was not much. Even 7 episodes could have been much better. I think the team just makes a huge story and then they get a shrinked episode count - which means they have to cut out a lot of stuff. Its such a pitty...
