LEGO Ninjago 2021
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Driver Brandon Grumman's topic in LEGO Action and Adventure Themes
well, it's also a great book at least ;) btw: I got the magazine with Legacy Lloyd and the new ghosts - they are quite inferior to the original ones (with 6 specific molds made and many cool prints + recolours) but as someone who owns a bunch of the old ghosts I am happy to get different prints/colours. Like the ghost-tail piece with purple instead of dark blue, or the ninja hood with dark blue/purple! -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Sorry guys and gals but its too easy too talk ourselves out as "the bad shit happens on insta". Because the behaviour in some subs here is borderline as well. We don't know how stuff works with Lego or anything. There is no propper relationship. But people here act like they are the moral judges of the company or any other people/medium. It would be much better to try to try to better relationships and demand better communication (with TLG) instead of breeding rumors here. ________________________ I am sorry for promobricks, they are a great medium, very dedicated, trustworthy and work more serious than some actual news media. -

Im sorry but what attitude is this? Does TLG monitor this chat live? And in the impossible case some interested emplyees of TLG would do so - would they be in the position to make this happen? Or would they be obliged to adapt any existing strategy to please like 0,02% hardcore fans? I'm the last to compliement their communication strategy; I think it creats a bad image, is messy wastes a lot of potential. They should try to build a bond with this small but vocal fandom, so that we don't have to rely on some leakers - who may have good intentions but don't know better. Simply giving information as to why and when information is revealed, would be enough so that less time is wasted. But to accomplish this, also the fandom may find it easier to communicate differently. -

How can people make out so much? All I see are some blurry pictures with stickers covering most of the surface. ...and some plastic bags. So is the Thanos figure a new system? Or is it a standard bigfig with a bigger "minifigstyle-"head piece? I think what I can see looks weird but again I cann't make out much. -

wow, this is really one of the worst "open cockpits" of all time naja, should be easy to redesign. In the show those canopy pieces are also on the sides of the bounty cockpit, so would make sense to flip them out with different parts. About the back: in the show it looked even slimer. But it had a caterpillar drive instead of the window I think. Also this I will put and remove the mechanism down. Overall, I think the sub will look smaller then on pictures. yeah; 140 is a bit step up like most of the wave. I guess the time of the insane offers is over. -

Finally - I was trying so hard to track down proper pictures. Fire dragon - the complete torso is built upside down with the help of inverted smooth sloaps; like the shang chi dragon. Bounty: they really did recolour the big airplane hull pieces for the bottom structure. Interesting - I wonder why they didnt' just go for the white ones, that were already available. Would have looked better I think with a white base. Bounty II: unfortunately no turbine at the back, like in the show. But a lever instead - I wonder what for.. Flick missiles seem to function independent of any mechanism. Bounty III: Also I wonder where the two craits should be stored? -

1. Who or what is Mandr? Who was saying someone from Lego was stating this? Or that this person was right/believing or not believing this or even lying? Or is it something some people here believe of the company instead of knowing? Who here knows the details of contracts between Disney and TLG? Who knows the dynamics between designers, higher upps, marketing people? What I just find sad is that except for very few interviews we seem to have a very bad relationship with the company at hand. Instead of reaching out Lego seems to be quite secretive and intransparent. I guess the egocentric adult but childish fandom is also not helping. But the point would be to get closer to each other by listening and understanding. Rumors of some instagram people are for sure not helping. At the end of the day though, Lego is a profit oriented toy company, within a profit oriented economic system. So, some corporate hags will decide without knowing or loving the community, the product or the content. I don't think designers have too much freedom. -

When I got back into Lego I felt a bit ashamed of even looking at ninjago or Elves sets (maybe I thought I look less stupid with a Star Wars box ; ). But they too were good in so many ways. Now, many years later - I bought 2 Harry Potter sets, few small SW sets, CMF's - but other than this I saved both money and space for ninjago. Most of the sets from some years ago I got on high discount or impulse purchase. I can tell you, I'd be so mad now If I would not have some of those amazing builds. -

Oh I would never be able to count the random part recolours. I mostly look at very noticable ones - like when they recolour hair, armor and weapon pieces. I'm trying to make a statistic (to distract from other things to do ha-) of all new molds for all waves so far. Quite interesting, in "posession" we've had 13-14 new molds... btw; many german toy stores already listed the summer sets. I hope to pick them up first things in june. So reviews from people who find sets in the wild should also come in about 2 weeks. -

With ups and downs - but overall it's insane how many new molds and pieces we have gotten over the last years. Was it around 2015 - hairpieces exploded, before we had maybe 20 and now more like 500 (very intuitive guess). But what I don't understand is why they abandoned so many cloth pieces and/or waist cloth pieces. They were so practical and came even in cheap sets. They would also solve many problems with coats. Naja at least they are very easy to make yourself. shuttle: If 2 figures fit into the shuttle while closed, it must be reeaaally cramped, because there is no head space at all due to the structure. -

naja its always hard to pin down; one story influenced the other, which influenced something else together with something entirely different. To me it completely looks like something out of Cowboy Bebop which was surely inspired by some of the stuff mentioned above. In any case, the hydro bounty looks amazing. Im afraid Im not even questioning if to get it anymore. At least ninjago does get quite good discounts regularly. I will mod the front though - I think the cleaner, sharper tips looked better. And who know's - possibly I will be able to put an engine room in that part of the ship. Interestingly enough this ship will be the first Lego set ever, that could actually be used as space craft-carrier. Again - buy two of them and put them together; you will have 4 small fighter crafts inside. -

Well worst case Im sure the ship can be modified to fit like at least 2 people uncomfortably, or 3 very uncomfortably in the back section. Remember people, we've had much bigger ships that - due to the way they were built - weren't able o fit many figures. Some ships consist of large wings and small cockpits while others are donut shaped and have small wings. Like Falcon, with a lot of interior while the Ghost of rebels had really bad interior. -

WW: 11 new molds: Lloyd, Kai, jay hairband piece, main "villain" helmet thingy, "villains" mask piece, amulet, 3 molds for dragon mouth, new accessory pack, Cole's plane windshield 22 recolours pieces: 2 mouth mask pieces, 6 mask pieces from different eras, 1 dark tan straw hat, 2 recoloured armor pieces, 1 bronze cape, 1 white speer, 2 hunted acessory pack, 1 gold machete, new accessory pack is produced in 4 colours, Zane and Cole's hairpieces 9 printed pieces: 2 printed cloth/sail/wing pieces, 1 printed shield piece, I think 3 printed round tiles, 3 totem pieces 57 new printed figure pieces: as far as I counted correct its 57 (!) new torso, leg and head prints. Many from Legacy and the 10$ packs. from the ninjago city set I think its about 9 newly printed pieces, mostly from minifigures, and also here a bunch of recoloured pieces which I didnt count SW: 8 new molds: scuba gear - I still don't know if helmet/breathing device are sperate pieces. I also don't know if the belt piece has any function on the back side. So far I would say: hoodpiece, breathing device piece/scabard, belt piece Nya hairpiece, Kalmar head piece and tail piece (people said its new, I don't know), new blade element, new dragon jaw piece 15 recolours: hood piece recoloured 6 times, 1 recolour for Nyas hairpiece, 1 for snakes, 1 for Joker hairpiece, 1 for the manta ray, shoulder armor for Kalmar, Discovery shuttle hull pieces, dragon upper jaw, 2x golden dragon headpieces recoloured for Kai's dragon 25 printed pieces: 12 new toros+ leg prints for each ninja (often they were reusing the leg prints from former waves) and 4 new prints for Nya, 9 prints for sea folk ___________________________ Interestingly many reuses for the summer wave. Does anyone have numbers for comparisons with past waves? -
Lego City 2021 Rumours, information and discussion
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Powered by Bricks's topic in LEGO Town
I never buy City so only here to comment as someone who grew up with the adventures sets: Lion + cub are perfect! That lion is just soo good! Even the "bigger" looking body (If I look right) is cool. Also I think it maintains all posability which can be possible and is useful. ...which brings me to the issues: as it is LEGO there should probably be more posability and more ways to modify/change then standard action figures or whatever. ...but instead that elephant and monkey molds can do basically nothing. I would really like a better monkey piece, but with the minifigure arms-system or even some other way. It's really sad! Those old monkey would be perfect, if not for the aged head-forms! I'm really sorry, so many new animal molds are comming with no way to play/pose them. The cool thing about elephants was to make them stand up and more the heady, and so on..... -

how do you know? Then why is it discontinued so soon? Im sorry for people. I got the set some time just because I wanted to buy anything. I modded the speeder; never built the walker and mostly wanted the (pretty cool) jet trooper. If you australians ever visit Germany and have an adress to send stuff to, PM me; I dont really care so much about the figures (got too many figures anyway; mostly I would only keep the blue jetpack; ) and I also have some of the older 501 troppers. -

So after taking a better look: Hydro-submarine: I really like that it can fit the small submarines. I think they used all the space possible. Also the vessel fits two large craits and has some clips. Pretty impressive! So it should be able to instead put 1-2 bunk beds, technical area, common room instead if wanted. I think the best way would be to get two of the sets and double up the submarine area, creat another section behind them and in front with aditional detail - like the mentioned rooms and facilities. Then, if you simply remove some of the more useless elements (mostly just the blades) it would become a pretty realistic sci-fi submarine. Or space ship with the ability to launch small fighters. Now when did we ever get something like this? It's pretty cool! I have to see if I get though - my OCD is being triggered by the asymmetry due to the large space ship-Discovery panels (hinges on one side, studs on the other). water dragon: the usual dragon issues like not organic enough, colour-fixed joint pieces etc. But I think they did a pretty good job, blending the dark grey in! Also it's quite unique overall, instead of being a repeat. I really like how they try to make almost any dragon it's own thing. It's also a great way to get most things you need already: amulet, water-Nya, main villain, henchman and one of the diving suits, including the new belt element. overall a good looking dragon; profits also from the head-molds. wojira/temple: unlike many people said: ninjago is full of non-accurate, useless but good looking location based thingies. My hint to you: sort them by colour and then moc them all into your own asian buildings. I combined some half-built and useless structures and they look pretty good now. Plus I dont have all of thes random small structures lying around anymore! It's for sure hard to make it right as a designer. Because playability is better if theres many small things - but if they had foccused all ressources on one structure and Wohira, for sure it would have been much more impressive. Overall though the builds do look good and pretty unique. You gotta compliment the designers for comming up everytime with new colour combinations and ways to build asian architecture. Wojira: looks great on display but not as good as it could have. And heck, no posability or play value there. I'm sorry but also here I have to be defending the designer: more pieces, build would be better. But being required to do so many side builds - it's for sure the best they could have done. Good thing is that it could for sure easily be modified. But yeah, it should have at least been a bit better to create this big-bad snake. It's also simply too small I think. fire dragon: I had no interest other then in Nya's hair piece. But heck, it's the best looking set! I'm annoyed there's yet another big red dragon but like with Nya's blue dragon (we had just too many blue, white and red dragons) it has many unique and well executed aspects! Just the figures suck completely; I would literally throw them away because I cannot see another legacy Kai/Jay/Zane. Cole's suit at least can be used for more generic figures. the driver thingy: Its just not for me and for sure its good for what it wants to be BUT: the old "legacy" version, of day of the departed was soooo much better. Only the wings here are pretty cool. And heck; again the figures are sooo boring. I dont understand why they dont at least feature the hairpieces instead of masks in one of those legacy sets! It's soo boring! ______________________________________________________________________________ Overall I don't understand the complaining (well except for the increased prices..). The wave has many unique things; next to weird oversized cars, the hydro bounty is much more unique and much better build then many sets were before. And unlike the landbounty its for sure much more useful in many scenarios. And yes, it should be able to be modified quite easily! I'm so glad the middle section isn't just used for structure. In fact I have no idea how the build can even be stable without some technic stuf going through the middle! -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
I honestly think LEGO Marvel was fine till 2018 hmm no idea if I quoted correctly naja - wow this set already looks amazing with not thaaat many pieces (comparing to the UCS Falcon or mocs from bigger ships with like 10.000 pieces!! I hope Lego can do similar! about this and even more about figures: I just think it's sad that people let their fantasy and expectations (which are both great <3) lead them into being angry when children toys made by capitalist company in capitalist system don't meet CMF or UCS standards while being in a price range under 200 euro or not being within the CMF line. If the marvel CMF refrains from detailed printing - the outcry would be much more justified due to a history of very detailed CMF's and naja often bad figures within (expensive) sets. But this wave already seems to be much better. I mean what would people say if we would simply get another buch of rehashed figures, same looking henchmen and weird oversized, childish truck-bike sets. And of course the spider-man bikes, helicopters, planes which he needs so much And yes, before a certain year there was many decent marvel sets. I think about the first guardians wave: Ronin figure, pretty much perfect, guardians outfits were pretty nice. -

It's crazy. They nailed the look of the one big dragon from Game of Thrones. I really didn't want it and only try to get Nyas hairpice some other way. But the way it looks, I could really justify spending 50 euro. Only problem is those lame legacy figures. They should have really updated those suits somehow; put hairpieces instead, so at least soooomething else. Otherwise Im completely happy about Nyas inclusion in the water dragon set. Now I only have to decide if the Bounty is worth it - because this wave did get more expensive. Unfortunate we still don't know more about features and interior. -
Marvel Superheroes 2021 - Rumors & Discussion
Kim-Kwang-Seok replied to Captain Nemo's topic in LEGO Licensed
Together the old guardians ship had almost exactly 900 pieces. Now the question is do they focus on outside (a UCS version of this ship could be done at 4000 pieces and would still not satisfy some people) or do they make a compromise. I am optimistic that it can be really good while many will not be happy. And concerning the figures: Lego could surprise us with so many things; but honestly I think leaks actually help Lego. Because with them, people see the mediocre or even bad figures before the sets hit it in their faces. If they do a proper Thanos - even with some new big fig way of putting a head, that can then be exchanged, turned (Thanos, Hulk etc.) - thats already more then people could have expected without the leaked list, if we compare to the shitty last waves. You can always hope; but please let's stay adult here if sets don't turn out to be beyond what factories, budget and call it evil cooperate men decide for the children toys. Marvel builds sucked like 40% of the time and figures were like the worst since endgame. I wouldn't expect them to do dual molding and everything so suddenly. Yes it can and should be done but in the past it wasn't so it would be great if we get but there's no reason to assume it will. -

damn it they did good job not leaking anything this year. Or is it a bad job, cause nothing gets promoted? For Star Wars so far not a single figure leaked for Mavel and ninjago around 6-7 figures. For ninjago at least we have ok pictures. For he other themes nothing as of yet. Damn it Lego I want to stop refreshing instagram every 5 hours -

I think saying that we will get more episodes with the cut to 10 minutes, this wasn't just never true (only s11 had more screen time overall then former seasons) but also much of the content was produced as cheap as possible. I still enjoy any ninjago content I can get - but overall its sad of course. Looking at the recent "golden" special - it's crazy how good things could be.
