  1. If there's one question I'd want a straight answer from TLG'people it would be about their weird way of advertisement and non-advertisement. Like, they literally give away a lot of money by letting youtubers, instagramers and others fill the void for news. As far as I understand there's people who make a living by making Lego videos. And also they can afford expensive equipement and Lego for this. But I think there are good reasons. Absurd reasons maybe - but its a big company in a big market. I guess it has a lot to do with contracts. Probably any retailers won't like to have a lot of advertisement online for new products they can't sell for months. After all they hope to sell worse products and current products still. What would be cool is to have products when the sets come out. Like can you imagine a similar release schedule for the current shows as we had for the sequel movies? Ahsoka vs. Maul would have been hotter last year. But as people pointed out; probably they need time to see if people care about the shows.
  2. In Germany - the few times I saw stores (online as well) still have the minifig packs - its all 50% off, including the new ones. Sets I only saw on one site and they're one sale 20-50%. It feels like this was a bad experiment..
  3. I think I've seen fake-ninjago torsos since I have first seen instagram. So early in the game it's really unlikely to get some leaks; especially as we barely get any leaks these days. I feel like some of the later ninjago stuff is just to abstract to do again. But Nardakans airship would be reaaally cool. I also thought about how cool the original ship with unaltered crew would be (crew was only ever animated in their "cyborgish" form). I feel like also the skybound wave is something where they could do the figs quite easily - since most of the Legacy figures ain't to high quality due to their molds no longer being in production. We also always seem to get some kind of temple-ish or palast like thing at least twice per year. If it's not from a new season - I wonder what they could do? a small version of Sensei Yangs temple? Yang would also be fairly easy to do as figure without new molds.
  4. I don't even understand the purpose of a UCS and not minifig scale gunship. Im happy for anyone who's happy to get it but why? I think the Brickvault version for example is perfect. Put in a batallion of clones and voila. On another note: I was just watching a speed build video of the BB shuttle. I think you could easily modify at least 2x6 studs more additional space. And between the minifig space there's technic bars so if you'd not find an alternative solution to have a stable ship you could still modify the space above them for something optical, storage or maybe even the "Omega bed". It reminds me of the medical frigatte from Rebels that included the older Ahsoka Tano. There was a whole section in the back that was dedicated just to empty space and a handle. Once I removed that and changed some other things the interior had been increased about 3 times.
  5. Oh how you have nailed it.. I just think the way of pulling everything down so bad is reflecting really bad on the AFOL community - even though neither here nor "outside" this would represent them.
  6. I had that fig when I was younger and didn't understand WHAT it was ...but a pretty cool faceprint anyway. I remember 6 years ago - when I came back into Lego, it wasn't the norm all figs had back printing. And for some reason around that time they started to put out hairmolds and helmet molds like crazy. Before they'd just reuse an existing (not fitting) mold or not make the figure at all (at least not with the missing hair or helmet piece). There's been crazy improvement over this time. Sure there are also some downs but this wave surely is a huge step up. Compare this set to the Rebels AT-ST: no helmets, inaccurate skin colour, no hairpieces, no leg prints.
  7. yes. I can always understand people wanting more and better - but the tone makes the difference. We really get a lot this wave. It will be the first wave in a long time where so many sets are tempting and the minifigures are interesting. Since 2017 I mostly just glanced over entire SW waves due having no connection to them, bad deals or simply not liking the designs of both figures and ships. So getting sets or not I am can enjoy from afar already that new molds and prints are not just for the 10th version of FO stormtrooper/officer or Luke but for many to most characters people here desire. ...and we get freaking arm printing. Like when was this ever something regular? The 250 $ Boba Fett? No; now we get it in 20 and 50$ sets for multiple figures. So let's hope this wave will be a huge success so that similar quality follows. Otherwise we are stuck with Anakins starfighter just because it works on the market.
  8. Since when do we get different weapons other then some oversized builds and the mix between the 4-7 parts that can be used by themselves? SW maybe less then other themes but there are still always debates about reused and wrong used molds. Thinking Ahsoka, P2 helmets without holes, any clone helmets which differentiate from the part they use. ..or oversized helmets. Now people complain about this and lack of arm printing - seriously? Since when do we get arm printing in 100$ SW sets? Like since a year. And this set even has one figure with arm printing. I feel like some people here never purchased (official) SW sets before. I understand that people are sad there's not unique molds for any helmet or at least a few. But as long as enough kids get the sets Lego runs fine with it. Some extra precise AFOL's are not the core market for this kind of set. What is problematic here is how personal people take their frustration. This set is still much higher quality then many other sets before. It's understanably not up to your standards but that doesn't mean it's total trash and Lego doesn't try or care. Lego is a company wanting to make profit. Designers maybe are trying but they have limits to what they are allowed to do.
  9. I am aware and I have consumed some of the quite good - and in a few cases incredibly good stuff. But superhero genre just aint for me. The message of mostly overpowered men fighting against weird villains instead of actually fighting against an oppressive system or creating alternatives isn't my cup of tea. Especially in case of DC there are some self-aware products out there (the dark knight returns being among them and I would also count the Lego movies) but overall - like the anti-super hero satire (the Boys, Kick-megablocks, Watchmen) - in the end they don't break the cycle and become what they parody. A Lego Batman sequel would have been very welcome though; I'd watch due to the high quality any day and Lego movie-sets are always the best so it's quite sad about all the potential designs and prints. ...but thanks for the offer anyway! (:
  10. non, a new one would have been better and within Legos capacities to produce, unlike helmets which are not oversized - this is hard due to proportions as said. But yeah, I'd have prefered the "young" Ahsoka piece for all figs. But until Lego decides to make a new piece for her or a new helmet for Mando - we are stuck with what we have. Anyway cool about Saxtons headpiece. I really thought they'd reuse some random one as they did for more important characters.
  11. besides the BB team looks quite nice. I'd actually prefer some consistancy between all the different helmets (BB just don't look like clones to me with original armor). And about Tech; these kind of helmets are always oversized. It's due to minifig-proportions. With Ahsoka on the other hand; her Lekku are just looking bad. And TLG could do better. They just didn't reuse the old mold (which were also printed much better I might say) again - unfortunately. But in that case at least it's quite easy to get one online.
  12. not a DC fan here but the Lego movies were among the best and most creative enslish language movies of the last 10 years I think. And TLBM I think was the best in terms of execution. Really sad to see but I didn't expect any sequels. What I don't get is that the movies actually did make money - was it the sets that didn't sell or what? Because only TLNM and TLM2 were not tooo profitable but they still made enough to justify the production.
  13. Oh for sure. I never understood why TLG didn't make molds more costumizable.
  14. I think they don'T sacrifice new-mold budget on UCS ships for figures. Like never. And for Cody you need that new mold. So what do people expect?
  15. but would they really do that? Jar Jar?
  16. cool! Now I imagine all my figures would turn into maxifigs I think it would be like a nuclear explosion
  17. In general: I think it's similar to cinema. There's just so many products out there; you always need a recognizable brand - otherwise noone will see your expensive "John Carter" movie and you'll loose your investment. Like cinema - Lego deals also with an international audience so you gotta satisfy many tastes but at the same time refrain from pushing away as many diverse people as possible. I doubt classic themes can stand alone - so everything is covered by licences. While those are limited by source material, themes like ninjago can give us something more creative and diverse (colourful vehicles and creatures instead of the bland grey with a little white, blue, black and red vehicles. Also they come from Lego's own inspiration and themes; they don't have to pay big money to disney so there should be some motivation to promote this (which is why I think some licence themes get a bad treatment). Other then this you got your classic stuff - police, fire trucks, cars, etc. ________________________________________________________________ ..getting more popular - I have no accurate numbers and I think this is always difficult to say. Many TV shows or movies were flops and cancelled but became incredibly popular afterwards. Some maybe only stayed niche products and therefore remain through a vocal minority but would not sustain themselves again. Who can say what is what? Again I'd need numbers. The drastic price increase since this wave could have many reasons - like other themes with more effort effecting the pricing. Proper availabilty on a reachable streaming service for sure is a good indicator for a wider range. Ninjago - until now - has always sucked when it was about "HOW can we watch it". New episodes are available on Youtube long before anywhere else.
  18. can you explain this jar-jar phenomenon to me? I only follow this thread more since short time, I consider myself traumatised from the prequels (great designs though) and I don't know much about brickheads? So there was a campaign or something? And there is a jar-jar leader/cultist or what? I just saw the gunship vote
  19. Looks dark azure to me - but then again the lightning makes the difference. In promo pictures the blue always looked like the same as the ship to me (standard blue). And in TLG's defense.. colour's are also defined by the licence owner plus Bo's armor looks quite bland - except for the helmet in "reality". the lighter silver on Mando (most here prefere it anyway I think) surely "pops" more on the dark brown while gun metal grey would have looked good on black. Gun metal grey would have worked better for Bo's base suit
  20. It may not be accurate but I think the Armorer would look great with any of the brown or gold shoulder accessories. Notably there's the piece Wu used last year. I think her show appearance is a bit messy anyway. I'll probably put the helmet on some golden figure.
  21. that piece would be great.. but on the other hand people would complain about no printing on the one-colour headband. I don't think. On Saxton it looked to me like it's gun metal grey-black dual molded (which I doubt now). But the Armorer has a different shape of visor etc. - so I think it would not work well with dual molding. Overall I think we have just been spoiled by all he beautiful dual molded pieces from Star Wars and ninjago Printing and printing quality on "old style" helmets isn't the same anymore. Then again helmets might become bigger with dual molding and people wont like that.
  22. oh that was exactly my suggestion before naja looks really good anyway. anyway - so far we have gotten Mando helmets in: standard green, sand green, white, silver - Boba, Mando and Jango dark azur, standard green, light grey, dark orange - Mando battle pack gun metal grey and grey - TCW and gun metal grey also for Mando's first version And now it looks like standard blue (or again dark azur), again gun metal grey, black/red, gold and sand blue will be added
  23. Wow could you maybe post a picture of the cape "spread out"? I pushed away doing the same with a spar black cape for some time now - shouldn't be too hard but I think you nailed it! set leak: I'm so happy finally that we got such decent images as leaks! At least from the picture I think the Armorer helmet looks a bit like a knockoff. What I really miss are finer printed details on helmets - some Mando helmets look a bit comica. But still Im very happy we get such obscure side characters. And I don't have to use a golden knight helmet anymore. Cool also that Paz really does use that shoulder piece. Might have been designed for him. Interstingly the jetpack looks gun metal grey to me - I wouldn't mind but I'd be sad for some people who don't own any Jango Fett.
  24. But how many costumers are thinking about the aftermarket? And for sure there will be different versions. Like there are different versions of Boba Fett between the movies or between the releases. For people simply buying sets this is a nice one because figs have something else about them. But I guess it's different factors, different tastes etc. About the cape: Fortunately as there will be many Mandos one could simply cut parts off so that it's similar to Boba's.
