Thanks, SK! Lost Ronin's blindfold is the 'rope ring' from the CMF Spy, possibly my personal favorite creative parts usage in this series. Thank you! The cape is from the Amazon King: https://www.bricklink.com/v2/catalog/catalogitem.page?M=adv001#T=P

If you were to set sail from the southern coast of Kaliphlin and head to the east, like Sirius and his companions did, you would eventually reach the kingdom of Katapuja. The archipelago of Katapuja is part of a much greater ring-shaped collection of island groups, which has a diameter equivalent to the Nocturnian peninsula. The foundation of this ring is a massive, ancient coral reef, tens of miles broad. The reef is the outline of an almost immeasurably deep bowl in the oceanic plane: the Void Sea. Over the course of time, its inscalable depths allowed creatures to reach otherworldly proportions. Sometimes, for reasons yet unknown, giant sea snails attempt to leave the Void Sea by crossing the Ringlands, but few ever succeeded. Most of them end up on the beach, dead rotten. "Wow! This one would make a great new home!" Hi guys! I believe it is still Saturday 3rd of February in the most eastern oceanic parts of the world, so hopefully my entry is still valid! It was a blast, participating in all categories!

[Save Haven Cat. B] The People of Alnya
Exetrius replied to LittleJohn's topic in Guilds of Historica
'Dwelfs' are sweet! Decent figs with a clear standout to me: Reinhold, very neat! The cartographer is pretty perfect too.. especially the legs... I see some similarities with Zotharith here and there. I like this concept of a Guild. In fact, I would have liked to call Zotharith a guild, because of series like Fairy Tail, Log Horizon and Sword Art Online, but obviously GoH's definition of Guild prevented me from doing so.- 11 replies

Thank you, Titus! Looking at it objectively though, I mostly used Star Wars and CMF parts. I counted: 24 parts came from Ninjago. Assume 8 parts per fig on average, then that would translate to 3 full Ninjago figs, out of 18! But I'm very glad you like it! Big thanks for all your compliments, Henjin! As always, I will try to take the best characters for my saga, safe to say that Captian Serbrahad will play a role. BBC's Blue Planet is airing weekly, so that's where my inspiration came from. I have some ideas to flesh out Katapuja and other islands, but I'll work on that beyond the contest deadline. I might manage a 32x32 entry, though. Indeed, I love repurposing minifig accessories to make interesting new decorations or weapons. I found it amusing that Ketatapapu has the red mohawk, head ánd beard of the CMF Battle Dwarf, but in a radically different configuration. I appreciate your call on the nobility! I wanted to represent multiple groups in my CMF: the royal family, the unique residents, the prototypical residents, the foreigners visiting Katapuja and finally the aquatic races. I guess I could have devoted one more slot to the protoypical citizens by sacrificing a foreigner, but that citizen wouldn't have looked as exciting as my foreigner; I was at my limit for commoner combo's. Thanks!

[Safe Haven Cat. C] The Exetrius Saga (18): Setting sail
Exetrius replied to Exetrius's topic in Guilds of Historica
I'll stick with GoH, thanks! Thank you, sir! The outrigger was more challenging then I expected, mainly due to it being upside down and I didn't want to leave the anti-studs exposed. Thanks, Kevin! I suppose it it appears a bit more blocky on photo due to the lighting, and partly because I'm working with two different colours for the hull. As you say, finding a better alternative at this scale will prove difficult, even when resorting to illegal techniques. -

Lego Licensed Parts available from Bricks & Pieces
Exetrius replied to LegoPercyJ's topic in LEGO Licensed
Did a lot of browsing yesterday evening and today, here are a couple of things I found: In addition: All the printed pieces from Saturn V rocket, Dolphin from Fun at the Beach for €2.02, the Dalmatian for €1.88 Black panther, leopard and brown horse have all dropped in price by approximately 1€. Black Ninjago fence piece for €0.52 Nexogons went from €1.02 to €0.59 Of course there was a lot of stuff I had hoped to find, but wasn't available: General Garg (Nexo Knights) Curved grey rollercoaster track Thor's helmet, power blasts and other cool super heroes parts It is annoying that the standard price for torso's and legs has gone up by about 20 cents. I haven't directly noticed an increase with (modified) bricks, plates, etc. I believe B&P has never been particularly cheap, just business as usual. Btw, I can be a little off on the prices above since they came off the top of my head and I'm not that good with numbers... -

[Safe Haven Cat. C] The Exetrius Saga (18): Setting sail
Exetrius replied to Exetrius's topic in Guilds of Historica
Thanks! Yup, 18 episodes, not counting the ones for the Prologue! Maybe I should have named it the 'Centario Saga' or 'Zotharith Tales' though, since it's not really focussed on Exetrius. I'm really liking the earthy tones like medium nougat and I think it blends better with dark tan than regular tan does, in this case. For the sake of this challenge, I would have liked to go a little bigger with it, but I didn't really have the bricks for that. Maybe in the future. Thanks for your compliments! Thanks, Kai! I looked at Polynesian ocean rafts for inspiration and added Egyptian and Central African elements to the mix as well. This was my first time doing water, so I'm glad it turned out well! -
The Katapujans Background If you were to set sail from the southern coast of Kaliphlin and head to the east, like Sirius and his companions did, you would eventually reach the kingdom of Katapuja. "Nothing can conquer this sea. One can merely settle at the edge of this whirlpool of teeth, hoping for as much as a tear to roll ashore." - King Tepuku 1. King Tepuku of Katapuja The beloved king of Katapuja, known for his conservative, pacifist attitude, his worrisome expression, but most of all: his patience and wisdom. He used to be a reckless rookie, a brave warrior of the sea, but the waves of time have polished his sharp edges. Nowadays, he is completely devoting himself to guiding his people. 2. Queen Kaja of Katapuja The queen is one of the handful of literate persons in Katapuja. She maintains correspondence with adjacent nations and keeps a log of important historic events. In secret, she likes immersing herself in magic books, although she never actually attempted casting a spell. Maybe that's for the better... 3. Puteha of Katapuja The king and queen's only son. To his fathers joy, Puteha's interests have taken a turn towards percussion and martial arts dancing. Though young, he has already become a nationwide symbol of vitality, celebration and leadership. 4. Royal Soldier Brave, strong and loyal. They are there to protect the islands from intruders and sea monsters, as well as escort anyone entering open water. 5. Shaman Ketatapapu Ketatapapu is Katapuja's medicine man as well as it's spiritual leader. He exercises both occupations with equal enthusiasm, rooting out both individual and societal diseases. 6. Fisherman The most common profession among men. In groups, they drive out small fish from the deeper cracks in the reef and then scoop them up with their nets. 7. Hunter Hunters go after the bigger prey, at the edges of the reef. They are taking more risks, but the reward of their efforts is a much tastier meal. 8. Lady Tanaja In a land that mostly consists of coral, sea shells and sand, mangroves and palm trees, textiles are a valuable good. Tanaja's mastery over cloth, thread and needles has earned her the noble title of "Lady", only adding to here excellent reputation. 9. Scavenger Scavenging is a common practice for woman and children, but it's also a family activity. Who knows what might have washed ashore! 10. Captain Serbrahad Al Ibrazar Serbrahad, or Puke Tahu as they call him here, is perhaps the most remarkable figure of Katapuja. Born in Kaliphlin, brought to Katapuja when he was still a little boy and raised by Shaman Ketatapapu. He is cunning, calculating and stubborn. With his ambitions and rash actions he has often opposed the King up-front. And yet, King Tepuku can't help but feel sympathy for this rebellious anti-hero, so reminiscent of his former self. 11. Lady Akoja It is claimed that every four generations, a woman among men is born. Akoja got her noble title upon joining the Royal Guard, the first woman to do so since the reign of the King's predecessor. She quit the Royal Guard once she met Puke Tahu, and became the first member of his crew. Together they are the very definition of the perfect duo. 12. Lost Ronin Some say a ferocious battle with a sea monster left him blind and mute. What truly matters is that he is indisputably Katapuja's strongest swordsmen. The queen suspects his ultraperception is the result of magic. 13. King Nerezar of Pukata Noja Nerezar is king of the flourishing trade nation Pukata Noja, south of Katapuja. He is an excellent diplomatic, always on friendly terms with his neighbours and the first person to remediate impending conflicts. 14. Northern Cartographer He is in the process of mapping all the Ring Nations for an unknown contractor. He isn't quite there yet... 15. Stenran Feglir Scout of a special operations squadron of the Zotharian miltary, currently accompanying Sirius Centario on his journey, which has carried him to Katapuja. 16. Sirius Centario Eldest son of Onicius Centario, the ruler of Zotharith. His charisma and luck are seemingly boundless, one has to wonder what star he was born under. His mastery of magic is impressive in its own right, but he wants to avoid being chained by responsibility at all costs. 17. Sea Orc Reportedly, there are communities of sea orcs in the deep reef zone, around eighty meters below the surface. Individuals have surfaced occasionally, but they appear to shun away from humans. 18. Abyss Dweller At the bottom of the Void Sea, the abyssal plane, the pressure is so groundbreakingly high that nothing larger than the size of a fist can live there. Unless it's not really alive, of course... Hello guys, here's my second Safe Haven challenge entry! I hope you enjoyed, even if you may not have read all of it. This was a great execise in trying to produce identical shots of different objects, which required a much more organized approach than usual. I'm pleased with how the individual shots turned out. That's it for now! C&C much appreciated!

Latest CMF series impact on Historic themes
Exetrius replied to SirBlake's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
@SirBlake Thanks for carrying the news over to this thread! Most of these may indeed be a little too cartoonish to blend in with actual castle, but some of their components can be very useful in that sense. @Lyichir's suggestion is a good one. Or, how about getting rid of the cat suit head assembly, add a chestplate, put on the spider suit guy's head with black hair. Voila, a vampire! -

Exetrius Saga Previous chapters: Episode 18: Setting sail Sirius Centario and his companions had been searching throughout Kaliphlin for artifacts of water magic, which they eventually found in a wizard tomb in the Southern Desertlands. Having attained their goal, they were on their way back to Zotharith. Sirius insisted on travelling eastwards along the coastline , instead going north east, straight across Kaliphlin. The idea was simple: sightseeing, with a chance of boarding a trade vessel headed to Nocturnus. No luck thus far, although Stenran didn't mind. The white beaches, crescent bays and slanting cliffs were plenty interesting to explore on foot. They had stopped for a rest in a quiet bay. Sirius went for a swim, Stenran went ahead to see what was behind the next turn in the shoreline. He turned around the corner, but immediately froze at the sight. Another small bay, with dozens of gigantic turtles on the beach... In addition, there were a total of four vessels in the bay: a big one with two hulls and three similar, smaller ones. Young, muscular men - he could see at least five of them - were on the lookout, not on high alert but with unknown intentions nonetheless. Silently go back and inform the others... And then a recklessly enthousiastic Sirius came racing around the corner, propelling himself with water jets from his hands. Oh boy... In the end it all worked out, somehow, miraculously. Though they couldn't understand balls of what the 'turtle guardians' were saying, it was clear that they believed a benevolent sea god had come to visit them, which resulted in one big feast. There was dance and music, laughter and fire, meat and booze. Next day, Stenran found himself on one of the small rafts, embarking on an unexpected adventure... Helmsman "Eja, erm.. Stenran! Katapuja e." Stenran "Kata..puja.. eh?" Helmsman "Katapuja e!" Stenran "Whatever..." To be continued.... Hello guild mates! I present to you my Cat. C entry to the Safe Haven contest. Hopefully those who do not follow my saga don't mind the text wall intro, it's just convenient for me to combine personal storylines with challenge builds! Anyway, this was a great exercise in building a raft and a water surface, two things I had not attempted before. Thoughts and comments are much welcomed, of course!

New SoG character included in next magazine, Sawyer! Orc hair, black beard and equipped with a freaking chainsaw, this guy is badass! I'd say this is more than likely. There's a cell in which Kai is locked up and in that big skull stands the big bad, similar to how Pythor stood in the stone Devourer in the city of Ouroboros.

Latest impact of other themes on historic themes
Exetrius replied to Wardancer's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
Despite the lack of an active historic theme, this year will have plenty to offer. I'm having difficulties with keeping track! The latest developments: City (regular): "Fun in the mountains" set introduces a new eagle, significantly smaller than the LOTR one. City (Arctic II): A mammoth, a big cat in ice (possible a sabertooth tiger) and an unknown small creature in ice. Furthermore, a new grey dog (I think). Jurassic World, Fallen Kingdom: New dinosaur species, baby dinosaurs!! Ninjago: Golden dragon armour, dragon hilts, sword and scythe blades, new cowl. Ideas: Printed Leviathan flags CMF (Series 18): Red Dragon Suit guy, blue Unicorn Knight, Spider Suit guy, Cat Suit guy and Elephant Suit girl (comes with new mouse!): All of this on top of what we already discussed: Star Wars (Han Solo Movie): New dress piece! Corellian hounds (for fantasy builders). Marvel Super Heroes (Infinity War): Four arms neck attachment, infinity stones (decoration for helmets and Friends hairpieces), various power blasts. Minifig Groot (something like Ents from LOTR). Marvel Super Heroes (Black Panther): African-like mask, hair and torsos. TLBM CMF (Series 2): Hair with elf ears in black, apache chief, recoloured thunderbolts and flame pieces, black mermaid tail. City (Mountain Police): Puma, beehive. City (Mining): New crystals, white spiders. Elves: Elf hairstyles, recoloured flame pieces, crystal shards, a ton of others stuff. Now, if we could get this stuff more or less condensed in a single castle (fantasy) theme, that'd be great.. -

Hothbricks reports an image of a new Ninjago 'brickmaster' book: I think this hints pretty strongly at Nya with a water hoverbike. Also, the images for the summer wave are very promising! So glad with all the new pieces of armour and weaponry (dragon hilts, YES!!!) and the new dragons look superb! I'm super pumped for the Toy Fair images! RIP

No problem with finding a flex tube, but if there is indeed no way of separating arms and hands from the torso, then it's useless in LDD. I know where to continue, thanks!
