  1. And I'd like to invite those who want to talk about space over here: I wonder how long the Nexo Knight magazine will stick around, and if it still holds anything interesting. I'd love a cheap General Garg...
  2. I had something to celebrate yesterday, so I decided to open my Ninjago City set and start building. The day before, I watched 'Ghost in the Shell' (the original, anime movie, obviously) to set the mood, something I can wholeheartedly recommend to anyone who's going to build NC. I'm very enthusiastic about the way the NC instruction manual sketches the world around the set and adds flavour with the characters backgrounds. Even without seeing the Ninjago Movie I can fully appreciate the ideas behind the model. While the manual states that the designers took inspiration from show-verse Ninjago City and big real-world cities, I'm pretty sure movies like 'Ghost in the Shell' and 'Akira' were the actual foundation for the concept here. Regarding the build: I'll go with what has been said many times before: fantastic, outstanding! Always surprising, very diverse. I'm not even halfway yet, so there's a lot to discover still, but one really fun feature I encountered is the one where you fry the crabs and banana's. Love it!
  3. Make sure to give us a loot shot!
  4. Oh man, that's right! October 2016, wasn't it... ?
  5. Seeing the approved and released model of the Old Fishing Store, I don't think that size is the biggest issue here. Creator, City, Elves, Friends and Minecraft have featured treehouses in recent years. While those sets aren't as detailed and impressive as the project by a long shot, the D2C Ewok Village from a few years back is arguably quite similar. (btw, I've started my first Ideas project. Can I sit with the cool kids now? )
  6. For some reason, the underwater themed sets - be it from City, Space, Alpha Team or Atlantis - never appealed to me that much. I'm not much of a fan of the bright yellow or red, but beyond that, it's often the shaping that I don't really like. For a space theme, I think the main drawback is in the nature of water itself: it slows you down. No need for wings because there is buoyancy, no need for jet boosters because they are pretty ineffective. And you can't have a proper aerospace craft without wings and boosters, right? However, I could imagine a space theme that is stationed at the water surface, as an intermediate exchange hub for resources carried by aerospace craft and underwater probes. You could even have enemies at all fronts: alien sea monsters, alien pirates and alien invaders. Lots of possibilities! (Btw, check my new signature! )
  7. Any indication on when to expect the results?
  8. From a prisoner and a beachgoer, both LEGO City
  9. Two days ago, my haul arrived! As always, I have prepared a structured overview :
  10. Thanks, that would be great! Don't worry, Flickr promotion and EB topic are planned, I'm just curious to see the intrinsic interest of the Ideas community.
  11. Thanks! I did kind of expect this reaction given your username though... Anyway, this is what I envisioned when I first saw the rollercoaster track in grey.
  12. Nice design! Smooth, clean and well-balanced with the colours. Great use of those surf boards! The only thing to improve would be a classic space logo on the nose.
  13. The Ford Fiesta WRC and Ferrari 488 GT3 look bloody amazing, tremendous shaping! The only thing I just can't get over, and this is the main reason why I haven't bought any Speed Champions yet, is that the front light units and car brand logo are not printed.
  14. Wasn't there a rumor that the following LEGO Movie would go into space? Regardless, I could see a revival theme happening with: Saturn V and other space-related projects turning out to be succesful Lack of an original space theme for years SpaceX doing cool stuff right now (space as a more mainstream topic) Occasional easter eggs in CMF, TLM, Exo Suit, LEGO Worlds and DK books have probably increased the awareness for and fanbase of Classic Space. LEGO's anniversary Oh btw, I've been working on a Classic Space Ideas project, it's almost finished!
  15. Thanks! And I will alter the angles in the tree a bit.
  16. I've been meaning to reply to this for a couple of weeks now... @LegoMonorailFan@Digger of Bricks Thanks for your feedback about the setting! Exo-force also had a Jungle setting in one of its waves, indeed. But for a space theme, you will then likely be stuck with very small aircraft and large, ground-based deforestation machines, I fear. Maybe for the villains faction? The thought of a Space and Adventurers crossover theme, or big bang theme if you will, has crossed my mind too! I think this is a fantastic idea! The theme would not be confined to one setting and antagonist group, but instead explore a wide range of places throughout the galaxy.
  17. @Mata_Nui I'm surprised but glad to have your feedback! Believe it or not, the LU Ideas project still isn't finished after two years or so. I'm cooperating with @Umbra-Manis, we recently made a character poll, so feel free to check that out and vote:
  18. @ninjagoyax555 Maybe you could get a few of these: https://brickset.com/sets/30531-1/Sons-of-Garmadon
  19. It sure is. CMF is a costly way to army build these days, plus the past series were TLBM and TLNM. Nexo Knights isn't the cup of tea of most castle/army builders. Neither are minidolls... You might be able compose some castle-ish figs from current Star Wars characters, but otherwise there is hardly any new material to collect for a castle army.
  20. Some great figures, I especially like the Pinnothen Voicecaster, Flatwater Fisherman and Shattered Coast Slaver!
  21. Dude, that would be the perfect save! "Aside from the Forbidden powers, there were other powers that could be very dangerous to the world. Merlok had worked on a few experimental powers, sealed away in a secure corner of his database. However, the Tech infection messed with his system and all powers got sent to our heroes at random! In the heat of battle, the Time Traveler power was released, which sent the team back in time, to the Middle Ages! Will our heroes manage to find their way back to the age of computer games, crossbow jets and electric toothbrushes? And who is that mysterious wizard who keeps following them? Discover the new range of Nexo Knights sets, in stores now!"
