  1. @Captain Mutant I understand how you feel. I've seen my own supporter growth has been reduced to almost zero for the past week, which is frustrating. Reaching the people willing to support your idea is a tremendous challenge, but mentioning it here for the fifth time (if I counted correctly) will not do much. As suggested, put it in your signature (under "Account Settings") or take it (once more, perhaps) to Reddit, Facebook or Flickr. Or start a new and maybe even better project.
  2. Next magazine comes with "Scooter", who has the exact same face as the biker from the polybag. Why?? At least he has a cool pair of red rollerskates: About the P.I.X.A.L. nanofig: I think it's not random at all. She's one of the most popular original IP female characters, and her striking colour scheme is unlike any other minifig ever released. Posted in the 2017 thread already.
  3. Oh cool! I bet it would look great for orc shields, with some tooth pieces in those hollow studs.
  4. They'd better include a hecking cool exclusive fig with it... Hang on, why couldn't such a machine be in a civilized space colony? Include an astronaut kid who dreams of visiting Earth. Space fans happy, everyone happy.
  5. Could you clarify, I don't get what you mean? All projects here (winner and runner ups) feature yellow figs, as opposed to fleshies. Edit: Wait, are you inferring that there can be no unlicensed space themes based on this outcome?
  6. So, they hold a contest for a Space set, then they elect one that you would put in a Town layout... There were lots of great Classic Space, real life space and near-future space exploration sets! It upsets me more than it should.
  7. Certainly, and such a theme can be an outlet for so many historical settings and genres that otherwise couldn't stand alone as a individual playtheme. Precisely. Keeping an eye on existing moulds, there would be numerous options. The Romans, Egyptians, Aztecs, Mongels, ancient Chinese, Vikings and hunter-gatherers of the Ice Age, for example. Add some mythological beasts and artifacts here and there, but only to get the adventure vibe going. The theme would focus on the interaction between the time travelers and the inhabitants of the place and era they are visiting, ranging from slice of life to adventure and conflict. For example: being there and having fun, attending a local celebration, help gather medicine ingredients for a local who is ill, save a pet that went astray and got trapped, defend against a monster attack, or go on a treasure hunt. I haven't quite warmed up to steampunk, even after seeing creations like Moko's take on the genre. Brown does not invoke excitement, it has something of reassurance, and luxury at best. There appears to be a niche that likes brown cars (https://www.carthrottle.com/post/whats-the-obsession-with-brown-cars/), but brown for a sports car would definitely not be my first pick. I love dark red, dark green and dark blue, but I think the same applies in the case of vehicles. They are good accent colours, though. As for the concept: steam engines, basically furnaces with boilers... I know I am over-generalizing things, but that doesn't sound particularly exciting to me. However, it could still work as an attribute of the design style. I could imagine a fantasy land that consist primarily of metals. The society would be built upon metals and alloys, from tools and vehicles to architecture, while non-metals are the valuable substances that miners are after, necessary to sustain life. The sets would use a lot of Silver Metallic, gunmetal grey, some of the recently introduced Copper Metallic (https://brickset.com/parts/colour-Copper-Metallic) and a bit of Pearl Gold. A bit like this, but with more metal: Rorek's Workshop by Markus Rollbühler, on Flickr
  8. Thanks, you too! Your input in this thread has been valuable! @Peppermint_M Maybe it's an idea to get it have the summary on the front page so people know what's been suggested so far? Ah, thanks. I also found an image (rather large) about the -punk's: I personally see a lot of potential in a time travel theme, it's a concept that speaks to the imagination. You have a machine that can take you to any place and any time.. endless possibilities guaranteed!
  9. Woah! Nice... catch . That is weird though! It's not available for me, I have checked a few other parts from the Ninjago CMF, but no luck. Enjoy your find!
  10. Oh I never noticed! I've said this before, but I don't like the new symbols. They are inconsistent in style and colour and overall less appealing, so I agree it would be nice to get them without prints. It's ridiculous. For that same money you could have gotten an Airjitzu flyer, or small set with proper value:
  11. This is the set discussion, remember? Identity is not relevant here in this case. @Agent Kallus Nice, man!
  12. I just read the whole thread. I'll try to list the concepts mentioned (or implied) up to now: Plot. The protagonists are... ... exploring places, exploring time periods, hunting treasures, investigating paranormal activities, solving mysteries, executing missions, fighting monsters, fighting robots, fighting criminals, fighting exploiters of natural resources, rescuing people from disasters, rescuing artifacts, restoring the timeline, defending against invaders, resisting the oppression, living the ambiguous system (pirates), racing and stunting. Setting. It all takes place in... ... space, the sky, the ocean, a natural hazard zone, the jungle, the desert, the urban area, the arctic, underground. ... England, Egypt, India, Japan, Peru, the Amazon area, North America (wild west), southern Africa. Styling. It looks like... ... dieselpunk, steampunk, clockpunk, retropunk, atompunk (?), decopunk, cyberpunk, castle punk, mecha. ... age of industrialization fiction, contemporary fiction, near-future fiction, oriental sci-fi, western sci-fi. Characters. The crew consists of... ... agents, soldiers, pirates, explorers, tinkerers, detectives, emergency specialists, adrenaline junkies, hunters, superhumans, aliens, monsters, magical girls, cyborgs, teenagers, an everyday family. I think that should cover just about everything. This gave me a whole lot of inspiration, hopefully TLG is reading along too!
  13. Exclusive variants are always cool, yes. Aren't all black training gi's identical, like the white ones? You could easily swap the black arms for ones matching the ninja's signature colour. From the Detective's office: https://brickset.com/sets/10246-1/Detective-s-Office
  14. Zane Training Pod with $35 purchase!
  15. Holy cow, thanks for the heads-up!! Same here, I immediately ordered a bunch of carts and grey corners! I almost forgot to order the wheels...
  16. I assume "True castle" would be Classic Castle (also Kingdoms), but I'm not sure what exactly "space theme" implies. Classic Space has seen tribute sets once a while, but otherwise has been inactive for decades. On the other hand, it's only been five years since last space theme, Galaxy Squad. The way I interpret this, he basically says that we have to wait decades, or around 5 years - depending on his notion of "space theme" - for a true castle theme. It doesn't say anything about when to expect a new space theme. One feeling I get from this statement: the 'classic' in space (and castle) themes has been permanently ditched. All future space themes will follow the formula of a team of distinct heroes, around which an elaborate story revolves (media tie-in) to keep kids interested, having specialized vehicles, always fighting enemies. In other words: purebred action and adventure themes. Actually, I think that would be an exciting scenario that would give us plenty of varied new material to work with. The true doom scenario: a licensed future. If TLG fails to maintain original IP's in it's core theme groups (Town, Space/Sci-fi, Historic/Fantasy and Technic), then I my faith in the company will be lost. I'll blame Disney.
  17. Seems weird since they have the "we can not offer you anything from the CMF line, as we ourselves do not know what's in the bags" thing going on. Do you have a direct example of this?
  18. Hi and welcome, Rebel! You could consider the page of the GoH subforum, where all the threads appear, as the homepage. The most important threads are this one (for stuff that isn't specific to any guild) and the thread for each Guild. I hope that helps, and otherwise just ask more questions!
  19. 10/10 would read again.
  20. 10 dollars?! Over here they go for €4,99... Not all that cheap for what I'm interested in, but with a little discount it's an okay price for a good fig. I haven't gotten anything from the wave yet, and this fig is the 'concentrate' of interesting minifig parts in this wave, for me personally. And if I could obtain Berserker as well, then I would already be satisfied. Btw, your SnakeByte is awesome!
  21. Those weapons! They actually did it!! They made a short katana and an super short katana (forgive my ignorance on the correct Japanese terms)! I know we had a discussion about them back when we first saw Lloyd's Chinese dao, with an infographic provided by @Aanchir IIRC. Love that hand-held scythe! The Dragon hilt looks just like how it should look, but I'm a little worried that it doesn't have a bar attachment point in the dragon mouth, as seen in the show... The villain's brings some cool parts and prints, though the torso is a big mess. For the ninja, I miss the more organic and less juniorizised styling that they have had in the past, most notably for the Deepstone, Zukin and Hands of Time variations.
  22. An then TLG dropped the Hogwarts Great Hall... and everyone fell in love. There's a lot of good stuff (large images inside spoiler): Square lattice windows. 40 of them. Is... is this heaven? Candles and candle flame piece! Lantern! Looks like it houses an ordinary 1x1 cilinder, great! Half bow brick and half bow corner brick. Wizard wand. I never really had qualms with using a 3-long bar, but this is a treat. Sorting hat! Hagrid! Can we have (half) giants like this in a regular castle theme? Pretty please?? Conical rooftops in dark grey! 'Pointy' cheese slopes. Long wizard hair. Tan and dark grey spikes. Sand green skis. Updated mouse. All things considered: Wow! The brick-built basilisk and phoenix are underwhelming, but they are not the focus here. Still, I would love to see at least the phoenix receive an update from the 2002 version.
  23. Speaking of the magazine: Next edition comes with Fred! Purple hair, cool armour and pretty badass sword build, going to try to pick it up!
