  1. I am confused; has a new image showed up other than the blind bag cover one?
  2. Thanks for the reviews, Just2Good! A question: are the bird arms detachable? Also, could anyone here provide a picture of the captain hat (from Piggy Pirate Ship) on a standard minifig, I'd like to know how oversized it is!
  3. Found it! Looks like Pythor has a trans neon yellow rise of the snakes staff on the artwork cover. Other than a cool powered-up Cole (as included in the Earth Roader set) battle pose, there's not much new to see. It was to be expected, imho. Pythor is an opportunist and deceiver to the core of his very existance. (sorry for straying off topic here!) No Nelson on the artwork btw, so it seems.
  4. Oh, that's quite unexpected. I know a couple of things about alchemy because of that series, which, in turn, must have been inspired by other sources. I don't know, I assumed it was from that show. In case you'd like to know more, this anime: http://myanimelist.net/anime/5114/Fullmetal_Alchemist__Brotherhood , episode 4 (I must warn you, it's commonly regarded as one of the saddest episodes in the entire series). To me, it was a very inspiring series. By the way, are those transparent tube-like elements LEGO?
  5. Great work, love the story, too! The rack with the catapults used as baskets to holding small stuff is absolutely brilliant!!! Awesome atmosphere overall, with the colours, the crystals, potions, loose papers, etc. and a great spiral staircase. Keep up the good work, Kai!
  6. If I should believe my secret source, you are up to something... infernal, m'lord. It's great to see you have returned! Sounds good!
  7. This sound uncannily familiar... But oh my, what a beautiful build! Lovely architecture (in a nice colour scheme), but I like the workplace area even better! Great (detailed) stuff is lying around everywhere, appropriately. Nice work!
  8. To be honest, I think your modifications do not add much value to a polybag that was good allready. The chicken pose is creative, though.
  9. I've got mixed feelings about this polybag. It's a nice way to get Wu for really cheap, but he has been in the three sets so far. I don't like the inclusion of ToE Jay. He came in a polybag, an army builder set and the very popular ElectroMech, so he's very common. The build has a few good pieces, but nothing spectacular. On the other hand, I'm kinda glad that it doesn't have exclusive/obscure figs (I like those, very much even!), because this looks like the type of polybag to show up as a TrU exclusive, so it would be thougher to get at a decent price for me. But man, they are really pushing their 'box' art standards here! It's something!
  10. That's not what it is. Minecraft is a sandbox game, which basically means that you can break, replace, reshape and craft everything in your environment. It's based only real sandbox: our universe and everything in it, not on LEGO. The attractiveness is in the fact that Minecraft and it's merchandise is incredibly popular, just like Star Wars, Ninjago, anything that has a large fanbase, really. But I do understand your point, as I'm much preferring more intriguing shapes, building techniques and pieces in sets, rather than this simple blockyness. I like it mostly for the licenced pieces.
  11. A review of great quality (didn't watch the video part, though); nice, clear shots of everything of interest. Keep up the good reviewing work!
  12. That bed (well actually the whole upper floor) is awesome! Great rendering as well
  13. Although the builds are quite simple, I think the the photography and visual presentation are rather nice!
  14. Congratulations to the winners! There were a lot of fantastic entries, but I think the judges did a good job picking the winners!
  15. Take a look at the teddy bear: Now have a glance at these: https://www.google.n...VDnDGwQ_AUIBigB Add this up to the fact that I said "with a bit of imagination". See what I mean now?
  16. I wonder if the Spooky Boy will be an emo, or a gothic, or maybe some kind of dark worshipper, complete with a candle and printed 2x2 magic circle scroll... Would TLG even do such thing? Nah, unlikely! Yet, the spooky girl had a voodoo doll, with a bit of imagination...
  17. I see you have combined many new things in one build, I like that approach! It's exciting to always do things you've never done before, right? I have some constructive critcism, mostly a matter of fine-tuning: The trans clear water surface is good imo, but I'd swap the underlying brown for (trans) blue. The rocks have a good shaping, but are a little too smooth, I think, you could replace a few tiles with round 1x1 studs for example. Having those light bley tiles is a good way of breaking the solid dark bley, no mistake at all! Ale stand looks fine; simple and effective. Purple-yellow is a striking combo here! Nice, different, technique for the road, but maybe a little variation like a few tiles, rounds or regular bricks to blend between the 1x2 slopes would be nice? The tree is cool and the figs are appropriate. Happy building!
  18. A smooth build; nicely SNOTed, fine choice of colours, good details like wooden support, chandelier, table scene and supply chests. Solid work overall!
  19. So, ... It's been quiet here, lately. I'm having exams, which forced me to take a break from a larger build that I'm working on. I put up a character teaser on my Flickr, check it out if you please. It's a less epic introduction than what I have in mind for the full build, though, hence I'm holding off posting it here. Anyone else working on something, perhaps? Any evil, lurking in the shadows, forging masterplans?
  20. That's a fantastic army pack (the Nocty one, obviously! )! Definately getting one! I'm actually glad that no scurrier is included, given that a full minifig provides more pieces for fig-MOCing. But I agree, a shield (even a plain one) would have been nice. The mohawk guy has a new torso and new legs, right?
  21. And that's where the EBcorrect came in! They indeed look bad-'rear-end'!
  22. Nice little watchtower in the corner. Rest of the build is nice and clean, so to speak, and the scene is lively. Keep it up!
  23. Enjoyable and helpful review, thank you! One of the best sets out of the Minecraft line, but I agree about the price point, which is imo also the main flaw of this line in general.
  24. Well, this: is probably big enough, but not really an AFOL thing. Compared to that, Jang's is rather small, but pretty awesome imo:
  25. Correct! Jokes aside, I think the hairpiece looks superb, iconic even. I'd love to see a black one, which would be more or less usable for other figures (other than DB Z ones) as well.
