  1. It's really too bad that there's grey on Ursula's otherwise fantastic, brightly shining, white hairpiece! (I have a knack for white hairpieces ) Her bottom piece.. eh, I'm fine with that.
  2. Three different moderator requests to stay on topic on a single page! The NK thread never ceases to amaze me! From my experience, NK has a lot of momentum with the target audience, comparable to (not on par with) Ninjago. I think it will easily run for three years, but it surely has the potential of running many more. In concept, it's a lot more flexible than for example Mars Mission, Power Miners or Atlantis, which are limited to a certain environment or location. Success of NK will mostly hinge on how well TLG 'nurtures' the theme. I think that first, they will make another variant, similar in unity across the team. Then, it's time to give each of them a special adaptation, something reflecting their uniqueness and personal skills. When the team is well-established and the characters are more developed, there is room for emphasizing different environments or styles. Here, I see possibilities for Vikings-, space-, steampunk- or jungle vibes, just to name a few. I'd personally like to see a 'artifact hunt' type of wave, set in many different environments.
  3. Cool! Too bad I couldn't be there
  4. Looks good! I think you did the best possible at this scale, the use of those mudguards and those Wolverine claws is nice in particular.
  5. Neat house, I reckon that the framework in tan and the foundation with chimney were great choices! Apart from that, I think you really made this scene come to life with those figures. Not only do they look realistic individually, but you can really see their teamwork; very nice posing!
  6. A warm welcome to the Guilds, Leopold! If I am correct, you have been in an RPG before, and it's great to see you've transferred to GoH! Anyway, that's a very elegant sigfig you have there, plus a nice backstory.
  7. Only the Wu vs Jay and Skybound flyer polybag, and the stone armour Jay reveal. But yes, one should think it's about time that one brings us images... *Desperate look to our usual suspects*
  8. Glad you are enjoying it! Thanks guys! The eye was a fun build to do. The characters I had sitting around for quite a few months now (here are early teasers), so I'm glad I can finally introduce them. Thanks, that means a lot to me! Many thanks for your suggestions, Gideon! I am aware that infinity backdrops would make this a lot less time-consuming and make it look more professional too. Right now, I have to take pictures of a build of this size in sunlight, since I don't have lamps that emit a sufficient amount of bright, white light. (I'd love to have a blacklight too... ) Sunlight does have the advantage of getting sharp, natural shadows for landscape builds, though. It also produces the blue halos, which I have chosen to keep in a few places, for -what you mentioned- contrast with the white background. I have had both a dark and light backgrounds for the dragon, but both are not ideal, as you can see here. For the minifigs (and small builds), I use my desk and white wall as background, and I hold my desk lamp really close to get enough light and that fading shadow horizon effect. Anyway, thanks again for your suggestions, I will certainly try to improve my setup somewhere in the future!
  9. Beautiful vignette, great architecture!
  10. Oh noooooo!!! Today, I died a little inside... Honestly, what kind of sadistic channel is that?! Thanks for sharing.. I guess...
  11. I do certainly care about reusability as well, in fact, the only figs I'll try to get from this wave (Syndrome, Ursala and Maleficent) are going to be taken apart as soon as I have put them together and displayed them for a few days, so I can make my own characters with them. Isn't that what the minifig concept is about; swapping, mixing and matching to create an infinite amount of different characters?
  12. They confirmed it to be in the same universe, but I believe that's all we know. I think drawing lines between these movies based on cameos is overthinking the matter and quite pointless in this case. We don't even know how old the current ninja team will be in the movie. I think that's very unlikely, fortunately, as TLM was targeted towards a broader audience and it was also the first cinematic LEGO movie, which was a good opportunity to sneak in many references and nods to AFOLs over the whole spectrum of the brand. Now, let's hope that they please us with a few references to the original ninja theme, with samurai!
  13. Oh... I have a knack for magic builds; this looks awesome! You materialized that powerful strike perfectly with those shockwaves and the shattering rocks, this is eye candy! This is definitely my favorite build of your hand yet!
  14. Oh, you're right, I forgot about the shurikens! I've been wanting those in silver ever since they were showed in that colour in on of the Rise of the Snakes episodes (the one with the big treehouse)!
  15. It has such a cozy atmosphere! It looks like the type of thing that you suddenly stumble upon after a long day of exploring the dense forests. Fantastic interpretation of the set!
  16. Awesome idea and fantastic execution and presentation! The top of the installation is definitely my favorite part of this build, but nice details are present throughout the whole build, in fact. I'm looking forward to the golems!
  17. That is one sweeeet looking dragon right there, it's adorable! So compact, but yet it is so complete, sleek and well-proportioned. The irregular base with the dense vegetation and the road isn't to shabby either! To avoid post bumping; the builds you referenced to are great, I love those magic effects! I really hope to see some more of those in the time to come.
  18. I think the most suitable word here is 'Majestic'! Awesome work!
  19. Great (blood?) river, your bedrock looks awesome and the introduction of a new race is always interesting. Neat figures! Doesn't it feel great; being a leader who is being trusted blindly by everyone! Sorry, bad habit...
  20. Welcome to the Guilds, mlongworth! Fine, densely packed vegetation indeed and a nice sigfig. Your story writing is promising, too, so keep it up! As for the BBcode share, I believe it can't be done with the app. You need to go to the website, click the share button, choose BBcode, select a size and copy-paste the link. From my experience, this is easiest if done by pc or laptop. this is the result: 20160331_121530 by Mandee Longworth, on Flickr If you quote my post, you can see the link that you should be copy-pasting. Keep in mind that only the part up to and including [/img][/url] is necessary to show the image. I'll think you'll find out soon. If you have more questions, be sure to have al look here
  21. I agree with the others, the landscaping is absolutely splendid! And it's always nice to see Wolfpack, of course. Keep up the good work!
  22. So I was just about to quit EB because I thought I had seen it all, but then a certain someone came up with a frickn' FRYING PAN TREE! I mean, SERIOUSLY!? I guess I'll stay a little longer than... Okay, now for real: THAT IS AMAZING!!! The angled tiles for the walls is also a very pleasing sight.
  23. This build has a nice colour scheme and a realistic profile. The pig pen and shed look neat, as well as the irregular base. I think, overall, that the build could have been more refined, though. The walls with all 1x2 bricks make it look like a random, unpleasant patchwork, imho. I recommend the use of 1x2 plates in the same colours to replace some of those bricks and also to create large patches of the same colour. A few tiles for the roof and a for the pathways would be nice too. Happy building!
  24. nice review! I should really get my hands on this one sometime...
