  1. I love this so much So many great details and wonderful colours. I wish I could be with them on their vacation. Good luck with the contest!
  2. Oh, yes, I like it very much! Beautiful facade with some nice details and a great colour scheme. The interior is also great. There are so many different exhibits but it doesn't look overloaded.
  3. Sweet and funny build. I really like it. It's so colourful and there's so much live in it.
  4. Beautiful building. I love all the details on the inside. My favourite parts are the interiors of the music store and the apartement.
  5. I love it There are so many great details on the inside and outside as well. It makes me feel 'christmassy' although it's still november and warms my heart.
  6. Thank you very much Yes, I am a purist I did try the transparent nylon anyway but wasn't satisfied with the results. The figs didn't stay where they were supposed to stay and I had trouble to attach the dog and the cat. Although I'm also not fully satisfied with the chains, I chose them for the "carousel look".
  7. Thank you very much BrickJagger, thanks for the suggestion. I also posted it there.
  8. Hi everyone, a while ago I challenged myself to build something with the cylinder hemisphere parts used for the Star Wars planets. My 4th build in this challenge is the Daily Planet building from Superman. There are a lot different references for this building. It almost seems that each series/film/comic uses its own. So I chose the one that's based on the Los Angeles City Hall (which was used in the 1950s television series Adventures of Superman, see wiki). When looking for reference pictures I also found this funny toy (Schylling Superman Classic Carousel. The site seems to be broken right now, so maybe just use image search instead). Now, this is the result of combining those two references: This is my very first build with power functions. (follow link to see the video) The other builds of this challenge can be found here. I hope, you like it. I originally posted this in the Special Themes forum, but I guess it fits in better here.
  9. This is part 4 of my cylinder hemisphere parts building challenge: the Daily Planet building from Superman. I chose the one that's based on the Los Angeles City Hall (which was used in the 1950s television series Adventures of Superman, see wiki). When looking for reference pictures I also found this funny toy and that led to my very first build with power functions :-D. (follow link to see the video) The other builds of this challenge can be found here. I hope, you like it.
  10. Thanks again for the really nice comments
  11. Thank you for all the nice comments. They are much appreciated Yes, that's exactly how she made them. I used 1x1 bricks with studs on one side to attach the 2x2 flat tiles and a curved 2x2 slope for the rear on a 2x2 plate. I'm quite surprised how popular the chair and sofa are There will definitely be a third building in this style. Currently I'm collecting ideas. We'll see
  12. Hi everyone, this is the second part of my Amsterdam project: a modular canal house containing a cheese shop with bistro and a small cheese museum that explains how cheese is made. (First part: book shop) The shop area and bistro. The mezzanine is easily removable. The cheese museum on the 2nd floor. A small appartement on the upper two floors for the shop owner. More pictures can be found here. I hope you like it. C&C welcome.
  13. Beautiful building! I like the shape of the facade and all the flowers on the inside. Looks like a great place for minifigs to spend their time and to relax. My favourite part is the mosaic though.
  14. I love your style! It's so unique. The colours and shaping of both buildings are wonderful. My favourite parts this time are the different electronical devices and the interior of the boutique.
  15. It's a cute idea. I like how you build the cup with the steam on top. And this would have been a perfect entry for Kristel's contest last year
  16. Wonderful build! There are so many great details to discover. I really like the atmosphere, it appears to be so lively.
  17. What a lovely building! I especially like the brown and white front of the first floor and the flower pots right in front of it. How did you build them? Oh and I love the green and yellow striped walls
  18. Sweet build outside and inside! I like the white windows and book shelfs. My favourite part are the light blue chairs made of car pieces.
  19. Great buildings with a great atmosphere! I also like the tram and cars.
  20. Very impressive! I love the two bottom floors, the blue windows and the curved facade. The interior is stunning!
  21. Great building! I really like it. The baby beds are pretty clever.
  22. These are the main substitutions I made for the first MOD: =+ 73312 ==> 60596 + 60623 = + 43888 ==> 3005 + 5x 3062 =++ 73435c01 ==> 60596 + 60616 + 3070b = 2362b ==> 87544 += + 4132 + 4133 ==> 2x 60594 + 2x 3854 Since the new doors are 1 plate higher than the original ones I had to make some more adjustments. There are some more substitutions due to the use of an elevator instead of stairs for example. Most of the other changes were colour changes (dark red slopes are expensive ). For the gray Cafe Corner I clearly used a lot more different bricks. (all images are taken from bricklink)
  23. Wow! I love all 5 buildings Each of them has a unique style and wonderful details. Looks like you can build anything and it turns out great.
  24. Wonderful build, as usual There are so many great details that bring this build to life. I especially like the clock, the bar and the white chairs.
  25. Wonderful build! The comparison between the real life buildings and the lego models is stunning.
