  1. From the way it sounds the model is very structurally sound, but still an insane amount of pieces. As for updates, Fox Hound posted this update on MOCpages in 2018: http://www.moc-pages.com/moc.php/449694
  2. Review for this model was completed a few weeks ago. It shows a lot more details about the MOC and highlights some of my favorite parts as well as some areas I think there could have been changes:
  3. Not sure how I forgot to post this video! Thanks for the reminder!
  4. oops! I'm on the beginning of Rebels Season 3, perhaps I should pay more attention when watching episodes...
  5. I really like the blending of the different panels and sections of this MOC. Is this minifig scale? From first look it appears to be based on the cockpit size.
  6. This is a neat little model. I don't recognize it from the films but it's been a while since I've watched ROTS. It reminds me of models that could be unlocked within the Lego Star Wars games. Looks like a good side piece to a completed Venator of your scale, nice work.
  7. This MOC is incredible! The model definitely has a studio model feel to it, which I really prefer over a design like the 10030 Star Destroyer with studs everywhere. I read that you said this is 37lbs, woah. Excellent job, is there an estimation as to when BrickVault will complete the instructions?
  8. Thank you for your feedback. I see your point about the fins being smooth rather than textured, and having build mortesv's version I can tell you that it is in fact a great model. But when zooming in on the actual texture of the plates, they would be smooth from afar but rough and greebled up close. Perhaps there is a bit much greebling done on those sections, but I think it is a good balance. The transport featured in Battlefront highlights a few of these details as well. With the various plates that were chosen to create these panels, it simply was not plausible to eliminate all studs without making them much bulkier. I will be sure to post more pictures of the model once I finish building, I think the angles chosen give it a perspective as if it were bulkier, but its side profile is not nearly as bulky a look, especially when leaving out the display stands and landing gears. Sorry to hear you do not think the MOC is up to your standards, but perhaps future pictures will change your mind.
  9. Finally, an official addition to your Collection is here! After several years of design and months of additional work, Cavegod's UCS GR-75 Rebel Transport is officially ready to be released to the public! The MOC itself contains 6,590 parts, and its manual is 429 pages long. The MOC is built to an Ultimate Collector's Series scale, and does a job in capturing the sheer size of the vehicle in a way never seen before. Lots of interest has been generated for this MOC, and Cavegod and I are really glad to make its release to the community! Looking forward to seeing all of the improved collections and Hoth MOCs. If you would like to build this MOC, we are happy to share it with you in exchange for $50. Included is the pdf instruction manual, an xml part list, LDD files, and any help you need throughout the process of making the MOC. For more information please PM me or contact me at chrdvorak@hotmail.com A Rebrickable page with a parts list will be available very soon and I will post the link for it here: __________ Once I get the chance to finish the model and measure it I will post dimensions here: __________ Here are some pictures of the MOC and of the pdf manual: As for the MOC itself, I am awaiting a few final bricklink orders to come in before I sit down and tackle the build myself. I will be including a detailed build log, time lapse, and review of the model once the build has begun. Considering the difficult curves presented by this specific vessel, I love how Cavegod was able to incorporate various techniques to replicate them in Lego and the result is stunning. I will also post the sticker file in this thread once I complete it. Cheers!
  10. I recently made this model again and decided to make a time-lapse this time around! Review coming soon! In the meantime I may experiment with modding it to the single stand version, but am not sure quite exactly how to go about it.
  11. Bump! I finally got around to rebuilding this model from the instructions and made a time-lapse for the model. Review coming soon!
  12. How have I not seen this MOC before? Excellent rendition of the Super Star Destroyer onecase! Then again, your MOCs are always top-notch, knocked this one out of the park. Perhaps this may have to make its way into my collection some time...
  13. Your first MOC?! This looks very sleek and smooth as a design and I think the nose came out beautifully. Definitely gives a ship I am unfamiliar with a great look. Nice work!
  14. If I had to take a completely random, uninformed guess, I would say that they may be released right around the time that TROS hits theaters...
  15. I can assure you that we are working on a few awesome releases within these next few months, stay tuned...
  16. The modified legs do not have an instruction manual yet at the time of this writing but they will be released within the next few months when I renovate the AT-AT manual.
  17. Great mod to this set/model! Definitely perks up interest in this set now, especially since it is currently on Sale (At least in the U.S. it is)
  18. Absolutely that would be fantastic.
  19. Can't believe I've missed so much of this thread, love all of the recommendations and heard all of your concerns with the manual. I was planning on doing a renovation of old manuals, which the sandcrawler would be included (Hint Hint at new AT-AT legs soon), but unfortunately the laptop I used to make the manual crashed and the files for the Sandcrawler were largely lost (I was able to save about 3,500 pieces worth of the file but that's merely a quarter of the manual). I would strongly agree with Cavegod and substitute parts where you can such as panels and slope colors, etc. Remember, this is the Sandcrawler we're talking about, a bit of random colors and mixed browns and faded parts make it all that much better! It also helps on a scale of 12,000+ pieces to cut down a few hundred dollars simply with some part substitutions...
  20. Amazing! I've been waiting to get a look at this model since you first posted progress photos. Any idea on dimensions?
  21. This is unbelievable! I mean a 40 inch diameter?! I wish there were a part count estimate for this build but judging by the cost it has to be at least 100,000 pieces. How did you build the inner support structure? It has to be able to hold quite a bit of weight, especially the bottom few layers.
  22. Incredible! I love the details done for the cave entrance. Makes me wish the top of the base had the same detailing or something like flowing snow banks rather than the flat stud look.
  23. Sorry to hear that. No rush working on the LDDs or the model, I'm sure a Hard Drive disaster creates many more problems than just LDD files disappearing! Super excited to see how version 2.0 comes out! -Christian
  24. If I could offer one piece of advice if you go through with cutting down on the frame rate, it is to drop nowhere below 16fps. 16fps is where photographers first realized that photos can become stitched together as video, and is generally considered the lowest frame rate where filmmakers can get away with shooting. I know it adds to the total frames, but the difference will be significant. -Christian
  25. At last your Midi-Scale Venator is available! Definitely putting this MOC on the list for future builds! -Christian
