I'm still not sure why that had happened. Originally the instructions were going to be printed for the Sandcrawler, but the size of the manual ended up being too large and would have cost a fortune. In this it's likely that the resolution (Which is normally over 4K) was lower in order to look proper once it was printed, and then once the pdf compressed these images it compounded the blurriness. Unfortunately once the laptop carrying all of the files died there was never a way to get back the original files to up the resolution.

On the backburner right now. As in, pretty far on the backburners, unfortunately. I recently laid out all of the manuals I want to remaster as well as a few new projects I want to complete. Based on that, I have the Sandcrawler updated instructions being done Fall 2021. I know, disappointing for those of you looking forward to this one. But there's a lot of stuff I want to get done, and the quality I'm striving for takes a lot of time. Hopefully once the updated AT-AT Manual comes out it will give everyone a good idea of what to expect. Especially with this model I really want to nail everything on the head. Power functions, wiring, lighting, upgraded interior, etc. and for 12,000 pieces this is going to be a long process. But have faith, the wait will be WELL worth it

Cavegod UCS AT-AT Instructions | "Walker Assault"
Cjd223 replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
It's so close. Completely honest with you, 99% of the model stuff is done. There's some fixes I need to get done with the manual, and some MODs I want to test out, but the rest of what I have left to do is all fine details about the release platform, finalizing some graphics, and going through the parts list a few more times and cross-referencing with the instructions to make sure it's 100% accurate. There's a few videos I want to include with the updated manual (Such as a tutorial on putting sections together, bricklink/rebrickable basics, etc.) that I need to produce before it can all get released. I also have to go through a ton of excel data to compile the list of everyone who will be getting the manual re-release free of charge. I'm really striving for a quality beyond what I've ever attempted to achieve before, unfortunately that means a lot of extra time that I have to put in. I'm more than excited to finally share what I've been up to with the model, just hang tight for a little longer.- 264 replies

Both. I went through the parts list and swapped out expensive ones the best I could. I also took MODs made by various people and combined them to increase the strength of the model.- 264 replies

Cavegod UCS AT-AT Instructions | "Walker Assault"

Update for everyone: All sections are built and I'm getting ready to stand it on its legs. All of the mods so far have been GREAT! I'm able to pick up the body by the handle with the neck, head, and sides attached without any issues at all. I've brought this thing up and down flights of stairs with zero issues. The legs are definitely sturdier and will be put to the test very soon when I place the body on the legs. The manual will certainly need a few adjustments, and there are a few extra mods that I want to go through with before the instructions are done. Mainly just to the roof sections, and to one portion of the base. Aside from that everything is going very smoothly, and I'm pleasantly surprised by how few adjustments are going to have to be made after finishing the build.- 264 replies

SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
Cjd223 replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
A bit baffled by some of the responses Mirko got for his explanation. Being someone who also makes instructions (albeit digital pdfs not physical), the last 5% of the manual takes almost as long as the first 95%. The amount of time Mirko puts into his manuals is far more than I think anyone suspects and would do themselves. There's a reason why he is able to continually deliver the community the quality he does, it takes A LOT of time. I wish some people would respect his craft and dedication more rather than whining about it being "unfair" that they have to wait a while longer. On another note I'm hyped up for the K-Project! Can't wait Mirko, it's a completely different beast than the bomber, and I'm sure the build will be awesome. -
This is really a cool design! Love how it came out with all of the different design influences. It gives it almost a Bomber/Ghost/Guardians of the Galaxy vibe to it. Really original and well done!

SB00301 B-PROJECT (MOC Resistance Bomber UCS)
Cjd223 replied to StarBricks's topic in LEGO Star Wars
If that is the reason for the holdup, eBay is probably one of the best solutions other than just giving people the option to purchase the kit with the manual and then split funds accordingly. Hopefully Mirko gives us a rundown once he has a plan. -

Where did you hear this? Judging by Mirko's site the B-Project is much closer to release than the K-Project. Mirko also said that it was like 95% complete a few weeks ago, so I'm sure he's just making sure all of the small things are right before releasing. That being said, I would be all for seeing the K-Project manual first! I'm really looking forward to that build. -
Nice work! The scale is really nicely done here. Love the base too. Some really nice angular work in your design.
-
I love the way you incorporated a lot of different building techniques in you build. It's great! The detail feels incredibly balanced between the high levels in certain areas and the more basic levels in other. It honestly gives it a studio model type of look from the Original Trilogy. Well done.

Cjd223 replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Glad to hear that! Here is an update for everyone. I'm currently wrapping up the base instructions. Once complete I just need to go through the entire manual, add in some additional graphics, and create a few extra pages. I just finished tallying all of the parts and I'm all ready to go for the final-check build once I wrap up the manual. After I build it myself there's a few photo/video tasks to complete, but that should not take longer than a week. I'm really excited to share the updated version with everyone, we're almost there! If I had to put an estimate on it I would say some point within 14-21 days from now I'll be sending out the emails to everyone who had previously purchased the plans along with updating the process for new purchases. I know I originally said late July-early August but a few extra things came up with the manual and other related projects, hold tight just a little longer.- 264 replies

Cjd223 replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Update for the week: The parts list has been cross-checked with each step of the manual. As expected, there were errors with the upload that have since been fixed. The updated AT-AT rolls in at just over 6,900 pieces. Currently I am fixing a few issues with a few of the pages and build. Once this is done I will be working on the base for the model. Thanks to @ecmo47 I was able to get an accurate location for the feet on a studded base. After that will be the official test build, which if all goes well the completion of the test build will mark the immediate release of the updated manual! I have a few surprises in store for the update, I'm very excited to show you all what has been a work in progress for the past few months. We're in the endgame now...- 264 replies

That's what I'm figuring too. Tires to fit the size requirements are a pain and normally $5+ for each one, eliminating them all together when using a base would be great, but I may leave them in the manual with a warning in case someone decides not to build the base.- 264 replies

For those of you who have built the AT-AT with a stud stand: Do you still use the tires in the feet? The tires are an unavoidable expensive part and I was wondering if perhaps using the stud base eliminates their need or not.- 264 replies

Cavegod UCS AT-AT Instructions | "Walker Assault"
Cjd223 replied to Cjd223's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I have not decided whether or not I was going to post a new page or if I would simply update the current one. The current one has a lot of useful comments, but ones that refer to certain aspects of the build for modification may not be relevant anymore and I wouldn't want to confuse anyone looking at it for the first time. If I do decide to just update the current one, I would have a public list with the original bricks on rebrickable as well.- 264 replies
