  1. I can't wait to see how this comes out, hopefully your solution works as well as the tan magnet holders as cutting off the money for the magnets would be enough to bricklink The Invisible Hand.
  2. So I too have finally decided to pull the trigger on this MOC, as I just finished bricklinking 10030 and need this ship to complement it. I have priced out my first order which consists of over 3000 pieces for a great price. I have two of the magnet holders in my hands, but there are 16 more and they are just so expensive.
  3. How about Lego finally gives us a UCS AT-AT that has around 4000-5000pcs and just retires the Death Star
  4. And I found a 360 degree viewer from sideshow collectables which will help tremendously for all aspects of the head
  5. Yes I was planning on just designing in LDD where the tubes would attach along with and odd curves and then physically making them in real life. As for the Invisible Hand bridge, I have my 32 minifigs for it (16 pilot droids, 4 security droids, 2 commander droids, 2 magna guards, R2D2, Anakin Skywalker, Obi-Wan Kenobi, General Grievous, Chancellor Palpatine, a Neimodian, and 2 Neimodian pilots). The current phase of construction that I am in is making a large technic structure to support and form correct angles with railings that I have made, and I was planning on showing pictures when it is completed
  6. So I have decided what design I will tackle once i finish completing my Invisible Hand Cockpit/Bridge MOC. To perfectly fit one of the many minifigures of the MOC, I want to create a 1:1 scale General Grievous head. Now, I dont think this would be too, too difficult other than rounded sections, right now I'll be working in LDD for probably quite some months, but if anyone has some advice or ideas, this would be the place to leave it!
  7. So I found a temporary solution to the lack of PT UCS sets in my possession, which is to build one of Anio's. Now, there are two that I was looking at very specifically, the Venator and the Invisible Hand. So I went on bricklink and found the price (Without shipping) for each of these models. The Venator is a whopping $970, $720 without any magnets if a solution presented itself. On the other HAND (So punny), the Invisible Hand is $188, much cheaper, but much smaller. I do not know which one I want to complete, so if anyone here has some advice or cheap part solutions, that'd be great
  8. What is the solution??
  9. The only issue that people have touched on earlier is that fellow creators have made excellent, excellent MOCs, so TLG would really have to do a great job if they wanted something for us to buy rather than doing someone else's MOC. Could this be the reason why we haven't received a UCS AT-AT or a Nebulon B?
  10. I too would have to unload my wallet on two UCS Jedi interceptors if they released
  11. Ok, so I recently just watched the prequel trilogy again in its entirety and later noticed the lack of UCS prequel sets. Now I know that this trilogy is far less liked by a lot of huge Star Wars fans, but the vehicles themselves are quite nice. For example, Lego could produce a UCS version of either (Or perhaps both) a Venator Class Star Destroyer, or a UCS Invisible Hand, both of which would be the same size, or bigger than 10030. If Lego did this, I'm sure that the shelves would be cleared of these sets because the vehicles are quite nice and people would want them because of the size and the UCS Factor. Another vehicle that I truly want made is a huge (Like 5,000+ pieces) Droid Control Ship/Battleship, as the design would be awesome, and the size would be great too. Those three vehicles are just the beginning of what could be a prolific UCS wave(s).
  12. Today I stopped by my Lego store and picked up a UCS tie, the flash speeder, and 4 microfighters
  13. Ok so I am a bit confused as to which UCS Set I should get along with the UCS Tie Fighter that Lego just released. I have narrowed my choices down and here are my options: 10174 AT-ST for about $90 via multiple bricklink orders without shipping 10186 General Grievous brand new sealed for $200 via Ebay 10215 Obi Wan's Starfighter brand new sealed $180 via Ebay
  14. Ok so I got my pieces (sticker didnt arrive yet) and built the model. To sum it up in one word, perfection. This set shattered my already high expectations, especially when it came to size. I've seen pictures of it a ton of times, but it just blows your mind in person. When the frame and wings were completed, I was not too shocked by the size, but when everything came together in the end and I placed it in the same room as my 10179, I was speechless. I have been waiting 12 years to build this set and it was worth the wait. As for price, when this set released for $300 it seemed crazy, but it was actually a bargain. Looking at my UCS Sandcrawler and then this is just incredible that they released for the same price. However it is much, much more expensive to build nowadays. So I would say that as long as you paint the pieces you need to (sorry purists), you will be extactic. But if you pay full price for one for about $1200, it will still be worth it, but you couldve done the death star ii with the extra money you spent. I doubt there will ever be a set that will take this one down in my book (unless they make a larger one!). Also I will be uploading a timelapse to my youtube channel, LegoReviews223 when I edit the video and take more pictures!
  15. Ok so I am still waiting for 2 orders and the sticker to arrive, but I sorted out my current pieces on one of my tables. If all goes well and my orders arrive on time I will be building this weekend
  16. More packages came in today and over the weekend as I am waiting on just 2 magnet holders and a few parts that were missed in my orders. Hopefully, hopefully they can come in and I can build it this weekend
  17. So after much contemplating between doing either 10030 or 10143, I decided to make the jump to lightspeed and go with 10030. The only downside to this was that I was forced to sell my 10018 Darth Maul Bust for enough money for the bricks. I decided to go with Light Bluish Gray mainly because I want it to fit in with all my other UCS sets (especially my 10179). After going through my inventory I had about 700 pieces, mostly technic pins and small pieces, but it helps. Then I went to bricklink and made a hefty 45 orders that totalled $793.62, I am done the ordering portion and am currently waiting for the last 15 orders to come in before I can begin any building (i have thought about sorting, but never started). The hardest piece to get was the tan magnet holders, which I replaced with any color I could get of it but that piece alone totalled $135. I will be posting updates in here throughout so enjoy! And be sure to check out my youtube channel Lego Reviews 223 I do not post too often but hopefully some 10030 updates will occur
  18. So I've begun bricklinking a 10030 in Light Bluish Gray and I have everything ordered for $570 but I still need 12 of the magnet holders (doesnt have to be tan). Any help on how to do this inexpensively?
  19. Okay so I have cut my options down to just two. Which one should I Bricklink, 10030 UCS Imperial Star Destroyer for $600 or 10143 UCS Death Star II for $338? And the Star Destroyer would be Light Bluish Gray not the Old Light Gray if I were to do it
  20. How hard is it to bricklink 10030
  21. Yes I have bricklinked projects before (cavegod's ATAT(fail) Anios Anakin Podracer, UCS Millennium Falcon, Darth Maul Bust) and as a matter of fact I did thunk about bricklinking the death star ii so that actually became my question for the same price its either the ISD or Death Star II AND AT-ST AND Tie fighter or hoth
  22. Me too I just bricklinked my own Falcon and it was definitely worth the price. Then I went on to bricklink Darth Maul 10018 (pictures below). Perhaps if I spread this project out over a few months/hauls the bill wont put a huge immediate dent in my funds and maybe I'll go on to get the AT-ST since for me it is just $89 to bricklink (without shipping) Here is the Falcon And Darth Maul
  23. No I was planning on painting the 3 large wheels and globes to reduce cost because otherwise it would make sense just to buy one on ebay
  24. Hey guys so I have a quick question for you. After calculations, many of them, I found that it would cost me about $603 for all the bricks given the fact I have about 1/5 of them already and that shipping will add an extra 1/8 of the price. So here's my question, which I kind of have an answer in mind, but I want all of your inputs since I have only been out of the dark ages for a year and a half now. Should I either: a) Spend the money for the Bley Star Destroyer (UCS) or b) Spend the same amount of money of the Death Star II UCS, AT-ST UCS, and either General Grievous UCS, Tie Fighter 2015 UCS, or save for the new Hoth Echo Base as the last part too this Mega UCS Haul Well the answer is kind of jabbing at me, but like I said is this deal for a $600 10030 too good to pass up even for 3 UCS sets or would the money be better to get the three sets listed in option b. I'm so confused, please help!
