The manual is indeed done, but I am currently finishing up the files that go with the manual I have a locked up schedule until tomorrow afternoon, but we hope to release the full manual package either tomorrow night or Saturday night And as expected, this manual does top Cavegod's AT-AT in page length -
Well said.

Help/Advice needed in LPub3D

Okay, here is it as simply as possible: I am currently working on exporting a very, very large manual (some of you may know what I am referring to) and well, LPub3D is taking a super long time. The model consists of over 5,700 pieces and contains over 1400 pages. LPub3D takes around 2 minutes-5 minutes per page and I am just at the first 25 pages. I am rendering a large page soze in order to fit the full model (I think it's like 70 inches by 48 inches. I know that conputer hardware is not the issue (Quadro M4000 card, i7-4790K processor, 32GB RAM) so it has to be software. Basically am I killing LPub3D? I am rendering with jpeg images right now. I would try a pdf but the page size always gets distorted when I do that (at least with previous models). I do have a 2 level deep submodel, not sure if that is doing anything. Does anyone have any advice for me to try and speed this process up, it would be nice to export my current manual in less than like a week (the current estimated pace by myself). Any and all help is greatly appreciated.

[MOC] UCS Medical Frigate - Further Improvements and INSTRUCTIONS

Well to answer your question, I would attend the end of the year BBQ. Ironic isn't it that my teachers load on work for the last 2 weeks of the year. I am trying my hardest to budget my time between three different school projects, and the manual. I only have about 1,300 pieces to go, and they're pretty simple. However this thing may take a while to render out and I fear that I will finish on Thursday but it may take a day just to render out the images. So let's keep this simple and set the new target for June 16 at 7pm. It stinks to push it back a week, but my teachers have our projects due this Friday, so I hope to finish it up this weekend, then final touches. -
Love this set so much, excellent choice to bricklink. I love looking at this next to the UCS Sandcrawler and thinking "How could these be released for the same price?!" Pretty crazy when you think about it

LEGO 2000 sets from 1978 till 2014 for sale
Cjd223 replied to Koenta's topic in Buy, Sell, Trade and Finds
Wow, that is an insane amount of new Lego! I wonder how many of those sets are unique and not just like a ton of copies of the same set -
My first LDD & Blender animation - Microfighter AAT
Cjd223 replied to BrickRemix's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Very nicely done! As a VFX artist and 3D animator I love the plastic texture that you created, it is photo-real Lego! -
Nice work! I think this certainly makes It look a lot more screen accurate than the few things that TLG initially left off when making the set.

[MOC] UCS Medical Frigate - Further Improvements and INSTRUCTIONS
Cjd223 replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
Update for the Eurobricks Community: The instructions are progressing very well. I am planning on getting a lot of work done the next two days, which will hopefully close out the toughest part. Now if you do the math, that would leave two days to finish everything including stitching together a .pdf, finalizing some other files and making a few (Not saying what the "Files" are to keep it a surprise). So, is it possible? Likely not. It would take a few all-nighters to get her done for June 1, which I cannot justify due to school work being loaded on me this week and next week (If it weren't for my oppressive teachers I wouldn't mind the all-nighters). Plus, I would hate to rush through some sections of the manual that would result in an unstable build and very odd steps. As mortesv said above, the manual is indeed big, in fact HUGE. I haven't looked at the page count yet as that is basically the last step, but I can already tell that this will far exceed the 1,089 pages from Cavegod's AT-AT manual. I hope everyone understands the current issue with finishing this up with the quality that I want it to have. After all, for the best things in life, wait you must. I am adjusting my goal date to Thursday June 9 at 7:00 U.S Eastern Time (This is day/time that movies usually premiere in the States). The hype train shall keep rolling on until next Thursday! -
Yes So good to hear from you! I had an absolutely amazing time building BB-8, especially the head!

I am looking forward to reading updates here. The Tantive IV is a dream set for me to own but it is indeed very expensive!

Nice work. I love the little VFX touch on the tie fighter hologram inside of the falcon!

The large model is awesome! I recently built it and it came out awesome! However I am currently working on a new project and due to that, I unfortunately have to offer BB-8 up for adoption. He is an extremely well put together little droid, and he is very friendly to people of all ages. He likes to be touched, but dont touch him to hard or else you'll pay the price. Please help BB-8 find a new home, more info can be found here: https://www.ebay.com/itm/121982953861

Now I really like the innovation that you gave to the snowspeeder, we have never gotten any snowspeeder with the curved slopes. And that is where I am a little iffy about this MOC. I am not sure if those curves are the best way to go. Off the top of my head, I see the snowspeeder as more of a blocky sloped ship, but I like your design as maybe a prototype snowspeeder or a more modern one.

Well surely they could just create molds from the currently existing parts, and mix to get new colors

Okay so I cannot be the only one who thinks that Lego should just re-release the original few years of bionicle in stores. I'm talking the same box, same instructions, everything. Personally I think it would be a huge boost for their theme because not only would kids get to fall in love with the early versions, but older fans would absolutely sprint out to buy some as soon as they hit shelves. I still have some of my old 2001-2003 bionicles but I would run out and buy the exact same sets because there is just something about those old containers and those old clever ways of combining models, and the old story, that would make me relive my childhood of bionicle, and I'm sure that kids today would continue on with our old toys. Share your thoughts on this theory, because I think it would be an excellent idea for TLG

Unfortunately it is not possible because I am making adjustments and such while making the manual to colors on the interior and an occasional exterior here and there so it is not possible to do until I am sure all adjustments are made -
[MOC] NEW UCS Nebulon B - Medical Frigate 'Redemption'
Cjd223 replied to mortesv's topic in LEGO Star Wars
To everyone who is interested in this absolutely gorgeous model, I am sure that you have heard the rumors of a professional grade instruction manual, and in the words of Han Solo, "It's true, all of it" It is indeed true that a manual will release, and I am currently working on it as I type! Along with the manual will be some awesome content, but we will save that surprise for later. Obviously the biggest thing in your mind is "When will it be done?" To answer that question, I am pushing myself to get this done 100% ready for release on June 1. What is keeping me from making the release date sooner is the fact that there is one tricky thing for me to do in terms of reverse engineering this model, but once that part is done, it will be very easy to finish the manual up. It is very possible that I can get the manual done before then, but let's keep it as June 1 for now in order to avoid pushing the date back at all -
Hmm, I am having issues building Henrik's BB-8, its stability needs a lot of work. I wonder if I should do this given that I already have like 90% of the pieces...

Hello Eurobrickers! I recently (Just today) made a recreation of the shot from the Rogue One Teaser of the Death Star Radar being inserted into position. Here is a look at the image: Now, while it is not absolutely perfect, keep in mind that I used 10143 which obviously limited me from getting the trench in the shot. However, I feel that it does the job pretty well for something that is just meant to look cool, not absolutely perfect. Now, all of this is CGI, none of it is from an actual picture of Lego. I used LDD and then worked that model into Maya, then After Effects for some touch ups.
