Brick on friend! I am curiously looking at your pictures to "steal" some of your nice technics, as i'm at the exact position you are; just got out of the dark ages and started building with existent bricks from my childhood. Point is i have to order more of those bricks too, because they tend to dwindle in numbers way faster than i can build :P Anyway, eagerly waiting for the final result!

Imagine having a wine cellar with many unopened 10-20-year old wines and opening one bottle at a time at special occasions... And then post about perfumes, taste and colors. One day i will implement one such "LEGO" cellar too next to my wine cellar. One day... :) But until then, we have your awesome old set reviews! Ah, the fond memories...! Thanks!

Very nice build with even nicer colours!

As long as the line includes "mechanical printed horses" a'la 70172 shark then it is fine by me. Also if they have normal castle-usable helms and armors then they are fine as well. And last but not least, they better have buildings made out of stones and bricks and not sci-fi spaceships...

Very nice MOC and extremely detailed :)

In an island somewhere in the Caribbean...
blackdeathgr replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Pirate MOCs
Thanks all for your kind words. I especially had the small scene with the pot up and coming since ages. The huge pot is DUPLO (Oo) but i instantly fell in love with it the moment i saw it a couple of months before and i instantly knew how it would be used :P Apart from the fish, the stew contains a crab for the taste too! -
In an island somewhere in the Caribbean...
blackdeathgr replied to blackdeathgr's topic in Pirate MOCs
Well, some hours later the poor merchant arrived at his destination. Imagine an Island somewhere at the Caribbean with a striking resemblance to Espanola. The first Europeans that arrived there were the Eslandolans. There they met huge resistance and uprisings. They eventually went in decline and as other European countries rose, they were soon invaded by them. The Oleons secretly made a small beachhead at the least populated side of the island and started digging in. They of course needed supplies and so our poor hard working merchant started to finally make profit... Bluecoats Outpost 4 by Spy Tha, on Flickr Merchant arriving 2 by Spy Tha, on Flickr Bluecoats Outpost 3 by Spy Tha, on Flickr More on my Flickr. Meanwhile, not far from the small Oleons base, some Islanders are about to dine on a poor Eslandolan. Gracious as they are (and because this particular Eslandolan was of value to them), the Oleons decided to storm the dinner and free him. Islanders dinner by Spy Tha, on Flickr Invading army scope by Spy Tha, on Flickr Island dinner invasion by Spy Tha, on Flickr I hope you enjoy this small (due to lack of more bricks) dual MOC as it's my first attempt at uploading stuff. Oh, and soz for too many pics. Feel free to remove some if you want. -
Exquisite!

Where is this poor but hardworking merchant heading?? Small merchant ship (no flash) by Spy Tha, on Flickr This is but a sneak peak of my first smallish uploadable MOC. I will upload better photos of the whole creation tomorrow.

Very nice! Bring in more Soviet ships (and Japanese too) ! People only make WWII US and German ships these days :P

Woohoo... too many bricks! A very promising start. Don't forget to add some trees/plants too. I am a sucker for palm trees :P

Oo! they look so royal... This torso is seriously good looking they way printing goes down to the legs... and the white and gold epaulets are definitely spot on! Really nice!

I will do so when my LEGO urge to open this misb overcomes my rational thinking! Hehehe... Meanwhile i am still acquiring all sorts of tidbits to make this set more beautiful :P The way i see it, until then, i will be practicing to make a decent uploadable MOC for ages :P -
This MOC is classic and i like it. Using wooden doors and barrels is always nice :) Also the "foiled" water custom technique is nicely photographed :P
-
Fine ship! I would improve the bow as it feels lengthy and empty in a way i cannot explain. Maybe a sail underneath would help? I don't know.

Not much but: For 10210, - 32474 as loose cannonballs, - many big and small barrels as water and food supplies respectively, - fish and crabs as food, - pi100 or col114 as prisoners (or a male djinn according to an old Greek anecdote regarding beers and gold coins). Also, - a world globe and base from PotC series Cabin's set, - some (6) black stud shooters as swivel guns, - a couple of lifeboats with a folded mast and sails on the deck, fixed with chains on a wood coloured base. And finally - a slightly higher barrier at the deck using woodlog bricks. If i can think of anything else i would put, i will come up again. But i guess these are things belonging to any decent sized ship addition. -
Imo cloth sails seem much more natural but feel free to experiment :-)

As i wrote in a previous post, we are current in summer 2015. How can we be sure whether we can see a new pirate line in summer 2016 or not. Dont be hasty. And even if we don't see a bluecoat ship this year or the next, some of you have way too much talent to let this unanswered. Start building folks!!! I want to admire masterpieces!!!
