  1. Indeed, reminded me of my dream set as a kid: Nitro Menace from 2005 Racers line Seen a bit too much "Fast&Furious" and "Pimp my Ride" Shame they weren't chromed there, though I'd say the set is pretty much the official ricer/"sex-spec" build (along with the other two in the series)
  2. Yep, they are (tested with a diff too, but the image illustrates all possible combos, the only one that doesn't work is old driving ring + new gears)
  3. 6XL motors + 3 BuWizzes?! damn that must be a hella lot pushing power. Would love to see a video of that thing in action)))
  4. These new panels look great imho. And the white rims Absolutely lovely! As far as seats go, I much prefer the ones you're using - the new "solutions" in TLG sets aren't that great looking tbh - the ones made from 3x5 liftarms are, well, liftarms... and the new ones with the panels are hideous.
  5. My best guess after seeing some on YT: these are sort of a crane as well, and in case the load (truck, car, whatever got into an accident) is beyond being able to be towed on it's own wheels, these dual winches can be used to hoist the load onto a platform truck (efferman showed off that in a video of his MOC as well). Also, the load gets distributed onto two separate points, requiring less force per winch, and less stress per towing point on the accidented vehicle. Having two winches can also prove beneficial to straighten out/flip the towed subject in reference to the tow truck.
  6. Flat silver has an acceptable (IMO) combination with LBG, and there's a good number of flexaxles available. Not a fan of those wheelarches as they do not follow the bodylines, but I suppose another purely LBG solution isn't exactly possible. Looking forward to the result)))
  7. Seems as a fun little fella, great shaping too. Are those 3D printed rims or adapted RC-grade?
  8. Well, rm8 in his livestream (russian language) has shown a slighly smaller scale wip of his with brickbuilt headlights and much better bonnet... Of course, it's a MOC, blah, blah, blah... but they really failed with this one. (rm8's video @32:42 https://youtu.be/rCffSyF4aVw?t=1962) As for ground clearance, it dumbfounds me as well. But I suppose since they don't recommend these cars to go offroad, they couldn't care less about it. As long as they can charge us an extra fo license, and the toy rolls across the floor, the child&parent will be happy. And since this is most likely intented and will be used as a shelf dustcollector it isn't that important to have a good ground clearance(heck they don't care about 4WD, which is apparently one of the key features of this pickup truck).
  9. Seems as if I completely forgot about steering... oops. ----------------------------------- Thanks for the detailed information, RacingBricks, seems that Zerobricks was right in regards of CV joint... too bad they're so big, and completely useless for a small-scale MOC. That change for C+ hub... I'm dumbfounded tbh, perhaps some Karens were worried for their little kids. Also find it extremely funny that all these "high-tech" motors are used only to limit the steering angle... even the diff-lock uses a "dumb" motor with a clutch lol.
  10. @AVCampos Pretty sure the front axle has a motor on it, then there's another motor for the rear axle mounted in the middle of the chassis....
  11. Time 2 pump it up the 'ol way The dude at the last photo looks like he has no idea wtf he doing hahah The inside looks surprisingly monochrome, are we finally getting back on track?! Would've considered it at a discount if it had a motorised pump like 42008 (which I have and adore), otherwise great to see more functional Technic!
  12. This tyre diameter: On these rims: Basically this (I made these by cutting up some tyres in half)
  13. Perhaps the new Tow Truck will use some blue parts as well - or not, maybe they need more blue for other themes/ 2022 lineup. -------------- Btw in regards of front suspension, this would've been a perfect opportunity for a 3L male-male CV joint (I think CaDA made one for their Initial D cars rear suspension) or a floating diff setup (If I'm counting it correctly, there's 15 studs steering hub towball to steering hub towball?).
  14. I can't even anymore The amount of stickers (about 16 on the exterior) is saddening...
  15. They're only available in sets unfortunately. Some german reseller websites did offer separate CaDA electrics, but haven't seen the micromotor around anywhere. Apart from the tank, they also included it in their new version of Takumi's AE86 from Initial D (licenced with both Toyota and mangaka), in which there's also some sort of micro LEDs. This report by BrickElectronic here has tested it back in april (pdf file, scroll down to CaDA section) link Overall, PF seems to be geting livelier and livelier)))
  16. Finished .mpd : link Model is fully stepped, with submodels and routed wires. The front hubs are part of the unofficial library. Tried making instructions, but found it impossible to go beyond page 205 as the model didn't fit into page, and the proposed solutions to "pan" the camera didn't have the desired effect. Here's a render with Porsche rims: (large version here Also found out how many illegal connections there were (front spoiler uses at least 3, though they're all within ±0'5 stud, side air intake panels sink through the floor, and there's a 1 stud missalignment between #21/22 panels and #3 connectors on the top of said air intakes) Will be more careful next time, and perhaps will find a way around the model scaling/camera panning issue in LPub. Also will need to learn the "buffer exchange" for pushing pins and axles, as right now they're added as separate steps in the model. Sorry for bumping this topic once again.
  17. Beautiful remake so far. At first wasn't fan of the azure, but looks good. The only questionable part for me is the roof section, in the original it seems to integrate more or less into the cockpit shape, here it resembles more of a cap.
  18. Great looking Porsche! A bit of a shame that the engine can't be seen in any way, but the detalisation is good. And that front suspension is really ingenious Would have to agree with Gray Gear in regards of the rear bumper, as for me it is a bit inconsistent when front archieved with parts, whereas rear is stickered.
  19. Thanks!! Thank You very much for the praise! In regards of instructions, the initial plan was a simple step-by-step photo sequence. Unfortunately rushed it while dissasembling, which resulted in mixed photo quality, ranging from good to terrible . Right now correcting that error by putting together a stepped .mpd. Fair warning, seeing the way this is going, it'll take a considerable amount of time, but will certainly make for a great learning experience in instruction-making. Nonetheless, I do have the sequenced photos uploaded here until I finish the .mpd.
  20. Beautiful looking car! The wheels and "slitted" headlights&brakelights are just a fantastic combination. It´s a shame that the "standard" blue isn´t much in sets, the models look great in it. My only suggestion would be to perhaps raise the sides 1 stud upwards, to be more in-line with the hood. Lovely sports coupé nonetheless!
  21. Thanks! Personally I prefer the gorgeous screams of the V10 engines, but a V8 sounds great as well, and since the inspiration for the model was F2007 car, it was a perfect fit))) Thank you! Looking back, it could definitely be lifted higher, and should be easily doable as well. I was taking inspiration from different cars from different eras, so the consistency was lost it seems, oops! Thanks for the commentary! One project too many , couldn't progress on anything while taking exams hahah. For the driving, stripping the extra weight gave it a good boost indeed, although a couple buggy motors would've been a wholly different league))) I would also love to see more alternate builds, as this set is real treasure chest of parts Already have ideas for several more alternates! Thanks! I was a bit on the edge of posting it as well for the same reasons, and do agree that some sort of rule update might be in place given the special circumstances of CaDA and some other brands. Though it may be a huge headache for the mods to appeal to everyone while doing so... According to rebrickable the only exception (for this model) seems to be the red 2L pins, but these play a minor visual purpose and can be replaced with normal black ones. Lego tyres would probably be more fitting as well, as these ones are more resembling of wet tyres in F1. The major exception is the control brick, but luckily a BuWizz fits prefectly too.
  22. It looks like this system gear to me, with a round 2x2 plate on top. P.S. as mentioned by msk6003 a few posts earlier it seems!
  23. Good Day. Today I present to you an alternative model built from Bruno Jenson's italian supercar - F1 racecar in 1/8 scale. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Functions: -RC drive (2x L-motor) -> 1:1.191 gear ratio (20z/12z ; 20z/differential) -RC steering (servo) -pushrod rear suspension -independent double wishbone front suspension -working steering wheel -V8 with moving pistons ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- General sizing was taken from Ferrari F2007, with design inspired from different F1 racecars from 2000s and 2010s era. Originally the idea was to use a 2 speed gearbox to have a low speed with better torque and a higher top speed, however after trying out several variations, it proved to be unrealiable when cramped into a little space, and invaded into the driver's compartment too much. First part of the design was the rear pushrod axle, which is a first for me, and the end result works decently enough. Then the front axle was made, where due to lack of personal ability a compromise on suspension had to be made in favour of the servo, so the springs were mounted in-between the wishbones. A negative effect of that is that the car sat too high, and the travel was physically reduced, so the spring are constantly compressed. Next step was the conjunction of the rear&front axles, followed by bodywork. Initially the intention was to make it all red, using white on the rear wing, but after using a 3x11 curved panel upfront, it seemed almost a must to try and make a stripe (sort of a nod to the original set). Unfortunately there's only 1 of those curved panels included in white, so the air intake ended up all red except for the vertical stabiliser. For the leftovers: I'd say about 1/4-1/5 of the total parts, mostly black beams and all sorts of small connectors&gears, the volume of this car is much smaller than the supercar, and it is much simpler inside. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Find attached below a video (sorry for flashy thumbnail ) and more photos. Instructions (step-by-step photo sequence) are being made. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Brickshelf gallery: https://brickshelf.com/cgi-bin/gallery.cgi?f=582869 Thanks for reading, C&C welcome!
  24. Oh, another "USA-inspired" set xD Not a fan of another orange car (why not LBG/silver or "normal" blue?) The tyres certainly are an overkill, but nice to see them in more sets. Mudguard extenders in black are useful as well. Hopefully we'll get more "international" cars soon... Other colour options that'd look better IMHO:
