  1. So far one of the very best battlepacks has been the bounty hunters one, imo. If there could be more BPs with specific characters like, maybe a Cantina battlepack with Ponda Baba, Dr Evazan, the Imperial Spy and the bartender, it'd be amazing. A rebel pilots & 1 mechanic BP would be neat too.
  2. Is there no love for my boy the Imperial Spy? EDIT: ^Nevermind, just googled "Garindan".
  3. As long as money is being made, the SW theme will thrive.
  4. I'm craving location-based sets. Lars Homestead, Cloud City, Endor Bunker, an Echo Base that's not grossly overpriced. I'm happy TLG is releasing a new Yoda's Hut. Hopefully it won't be too bad.
  5. If I remember correctly, there are, indeed, only 2 MOCs I looked at often. One by Baronsat and one by another member of Eurobricks whose name I don't remember right now but who made a whole Pit of Carkoon diorama. Both of their Barges are outstanding, and are pretty much the only similarly-scaled MOCs. Baronsat's and the Pit of Carkoon's Barges have been great inspiration because the two are very different. This allowed me to see the different ways to build the barge (especially the nose). I find Baronsat's nose, though easy to remove from the ship, too triangular, while the Pit of Carkoon's I think is too tall and steep. Looking at these two MOCs let me find something in between smooth/modular (Baronsat's) and textured/rounder shape (Carkoon's). What I find great about the Khetanna as a MOC project is that, so far, every version on the internet is quite different. Its odd shape has allowed builders to find many different ways to recreate the Barge. It's one of the most iconic and least MOCed ships.
  6. Idk why but I hate that grievous speeder bike. Probably because I'm not familiar with it and I just find the design ugly. Jawa BP is nice, though. I don't own any of the figs so it'll be a nice purchase. Looking forward to seeing Yoda's hut.
  7. Thanks. I really wanted the shield pattern to stand out to make the sides more accurate and interesting. Having a few Sail Barge MOCs on the web already was pretty useful, since it served for inspiration. It also allowed me to compare them to the real thing and see what parts of the barge were more or less accurate than others and why, and try to make mine as close to the real thing as possible.
  8. Progress! After polishing the sides, the nose is the big focus for now. Rear of the ship will be left for last as it's the most incomplete part. And, while one side of the nose is still uncovered, here's an idea of what the droid torture room and the cabin should look like: Sorry for the flash, getting light in there is really tough with the top of the barge still on. There's still a bit of polishing to do in these two rooms (especially the cabin). I'll snap better pics of the inside after I rearrange it to display the proper scenes.
  9. Dayum, that looks really cool. Could you post some pics of a full, four sides pyramid? One thing I think could be improved is the very base of the structure - it looks too plain. I'd add a mix of light bluish grey plates and tiles, as well as some green and dark green pieces to give the feel of an old, mossy runway. Everything else is very well done. It's making me want to build a Yavin IV base of my own!
  10. *Snip* You know those technic pieces that are long, usually black, grey or red and look like an cylinder and an X? That's an axle. The technic pieces that are small black cylinders are pins. You can just Google "LEGO axle piece" or "LEGO pin piece".
  11. Axle is the X-looking piece. Pin is the round one. 1x2 pin with half axle = half pin, half axle.
  12. Thank you all for the comments! Yup, and heavy. It's 76cm long and about 20cm - 24cm high, without the masts, making it a tiny bit longer than it should be for minifigure scale.
  13. I shattered a 2×12 plate once. 18 months of therapy so far and I'm finally doing better.
  14. Work In Progress Ever since I bought the Sail Barge (75020) in 2013, I fell in love with the ship. It quickly became my favorite set. Sadly, recently, I've been taking apart most of my non-UCS sets to make room for the bigger models and to have more pieces to MOC with. I had refrained from wrecking the Barge and the MTT from 2007 because they were my two favorite sets. Eventually, when I got into making car MOCs (Chevrolet Bel Air and Rolls Royce Silver Cloud II), I took both sets apart to make a brown Plymouth Special Deluxe but, after seeing I didn't have enough brown bricks to go through with the project, all the pieces just laid there. Now, while waiting for the UCS Millenium Falcon to come back in stock, I've been having the minifigure-scale fever. I've built a couple of rebel ships (X-Wing (MOD), Y-Wing (WIP), A-Wing (Bought the latest one)) and now, after seeing all he brown pieces I had in stock and all the cool minifigures I wanted to use for some iconic scene, I've tackled Jabba's Sail Barge - The Khetanna. Here it is with my Desert Skiff and the brand new parts that have just arrived: There's a full interior for the barge. Kitchen, droid torture room, "lobby", driver's cabin and, of course, the party room at the back. I'll post pics of the interior as well as more of the outside once I make some progress with the new parts.
  15. I disagree. I like when there are more than one building included per modular. I think it adds more variation to the whole line, having various, different sizes, be it height or width, of buildings. I think the Brick Bank is perfect as it is. Even if it shares some space with the laundromat, nothing is missing. There's the vault, the lobby, the secretary's desk and the boss' office. I'd rather have a laundromat than more empty space in the lobby or a bathroom. I still think 1 building per modular sets are great. Green Grocer, Town Hall, Parisian Restaurant, these don't need to share their baseplate with another building because their architecture strives on the size of the facade. Who would want a 16-wide Town Hall or a 10-wide restaurant? The Brick Bank, on the other hand, is rather simple and the addition of the brown structure makes it less bland, in my opinion.
  16. Thank you all! Yes, the skiff is small. I've been looking at its actual scale and it should actually be a little bit bigger. I would have experimented with a larger model if I had the big curved pieces at the front of the newest skiff - which I don't own in tan. I'll surely revisit the skiff once I save some money to place another B&P or Bricklink order, but that won't be for a while. I've got a much larger ship in the works right now. I'll put WIP pics in the lego subreddit as soon as I receive the order.
  17. Hi, this is just a small build I made this afternoon while waiting for a big parts order to arrive. I have the 9496 skiff but I really wanted to make a tan version. I don't know how I feel about the latest iteration of the ship, though - it feels too bulky. So, I made a slimmer, smaller version that does the trick and has enough room for the essential minifigs. I hope y'all enjoyed it!
  18. In a big bag? Like, all the pieces came in just a big bag? You didn't purchase the Falcon with the box? From all the pics of people buying Lepin online, I've always seen everything come in one big brown generic box and a big bag inside - no LEGO box, that I recall.
  19. I think I read someone say that, when making minifigure-scale vehicles, the minifigs end up feeling like very "midget-y" versions compared to how tall the actual characters are. I agree about the nanofig vehicles. I'd love TLG to releasing ships scaled like Mortesv's Tantive and Rebel transport. Although, even at that scale, Star Destroyers and the Home One would be huuuge.
  20. Hey man, just saying, some of your pieces are Lepin - they're ripoff. People are going to point that out when you are in a LEGO forum, alright? Seems like accidentally purchasing Lepin bricks may become a bigger problem since they're hard to identify unless seen from real close.
  21. Lepin is a chinese copy brand of LEGO. They copy LEGO sets, produce them and sell them for cheap. Your friend seems to have sold you one of Lepin's Millenium Falcons. While the mods are great, your friend sold you "fake LEGO".
  22. I don't get the point of this. She just thought Poe's X-Wing was cooler than the other sets. Except for the A-wing and the Bounty hunters BP, I haven't bought a SW set since the UCS Slave I because the sets from the new movies don't appeal to me... I'm pretty interested in the hut as well, I'm glad TLG is releasing more location-based sets.
  23. Never heard anything about this. Where'd you read this?
  24. Either this is some marketing scheme to make the hype grow or they just wanted to play it safe - too safe - since, yes, this may be the UCS Falcon, but it's also an 800$+ set. As for being furious, well, people should find something to get distracted with in the meantime. Build something else, y'all!
  25. Couldn't agree with you more on the Barge. Making it minifig scale would probably place it in the 350 - 450$ price range, since it should be at least 72cm long. The desire for a UCS barge is killing me so I started my own and there's definitely tons of potential for a playable interior.
