  1. Oh god, that crane arm is far much better than the official one, i am not sure why they didn't make it like this, but this would be a very cool mod.
  2. This is a really fantastic creation, the gearbox is amazing, it has the perfect balance between speed and torque, and the whole vehicle seems very capable for off-roading.
  3. This would be a very good idea, judging from this pic: http://www.technicfa...055-Buckets.jpg and i think an L-motor will fit inside the bucket perfectly.
  4. That is a very interesting system, do you have any more information of pictures to show about it?
  5. That Diff-lock mod is amazing, now, for the front axle it will be a very hard way to make it, but it looks good.
  6. I think that the conveyor belt and the bucket system should be driven individually, or at least the belt should be driven by the bucket, and not the opposite; but all the mods that suffocation mentioned would be nice to see in the model.
  7. Well, if you do that "mod", please post some pics, i might want to make a similar mod. It would be cool if someone could recreate the 42055 in LDD, so we all could mod it with no problem.
  8. I hope these videos are made to test new ways to make Lego parts, i mean, include things that many people would love to get by buying the models, and i am talking for example, like they did with the Lego 42054 new tires, things like these, new tires, motors, cameras, maybe lasers, are the tings that many people might want, and would be amazing to see them as official parts, so purist or not, you are able to use them with no problem, and i also think that these videos would be cool for maybe, basic or complex improvements or mods for some models, which is nice to see from the Lego company. Also, that drone is freaking amazing.
  9. That is really good, let me know if you make any progress on it, and also, another question, what would you think about putting the Tatra´s suspension system with portal hubs on the mog?, i made some small experiments in LDD, but seems that it might work, i will post some pics soon.
  10. Well, so now we have seen some reviews of the new LEGO models, and modifications and improvements of the other ones, and i think its time for the 42055, so lets start: My first modifications would be improve the force of the bucket, because as far i could see, the bucket is driven by the chains of the conveyor belt, so even an small object is able to stop it (like Sariel showed in his review), i would put an axle going from the gearbox directly to the bucket, or even a motor behind it, so there would not be too much power loss. Another modification i would like to do is in the tracks, i would like to put an small gearbox in the lower frame (i think there is enough space there), to select between some driving types, maybe something like a subtractor gearbox. And for the last, i would improve the turning system of the lower conveyor belt, as we can see in the review of Sariel, there is an small backlash in the system when the excavator changes the turning direction. So post any more idea or suggestion you have for this huge and impressive set.
  11. It looks really amazing, i love 8-wide trains like this one, you made an excellent work by replicating the shape of the real train.
  12. Hey MRP, for a basic motorized drive and steering for the unimog, i think this video is really helpful: By the way, has anyone ever made a rear steering mod for the mog? Alsom GBryan, the mog looks pretty good, i would love to see a video of it in action.
  13. I have the same feeling as you LXF, many time ago when i was a kid, i always struggled to find the right piece, but for me, that was part of the challenge when building, it makes the builders to have a more enhanced vision when looking for the pieces, it is sad that everything is now upside down, now the kids get amount of details while building, pieces come in brilliant colors to make them find the pieces faster, is like kids are becoming lazier than ever before, what is next? Duplo sized bricks?, pre-assembled or out of the box models?, if this continues, it will be like a game with hacks, at the first time, you feel like god, doing everything you want and feeling amazing, but there will be a time when you will not feel so satisfied and challenged as it was before, i hope this stops before is too late.
  14. It seems like a good partner for the 42053, it looks fantastic.
  15. Thanks to Dafgek and Effe for the information, by the way, i am not sure, but what do you think of modding the tractor like the Saddle Trac version that M_Longer showed, and putting the crane behind the cab?
  16. If the Xerion has no suspension, how does it performs in rough terrain, is does it like a skid steer loader?
  17. This is not in the Town forum, but it is at minifig scale, you might find it a bit interesting: http://www.eurobricks.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=137674
  18. This would be a nice mod, and i am thinking that this could give enough space for some other functions inside the model, maybe a PTO selector, or even a pneumatic pump, another nice mod could be a suspension, not sure if there could fit a drivetrain, maybe if the steering system is improved and reduced.
  19. Effe used these wheels for some 2.2 inches 3rd party tires. i also made a test with these wheels on the unimog's tires, they fit, but looks very ugly.
  20. Looks very good so far, i am looking forward for more updates.
  21. They seem very robust, and would be perfect for a large scale bulldozer, nice idea.
  22. It is a really amazing truck, the suspension system is very clever, both functions and aesthetics are really great, it also seems to have a very good off-roading capability, nice work.
