[MOC] Mini Monster Car
Immo replied to Oliver 79's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Nice child of Model Team and Technic lines, created with taste and skill. Well done, I love it. If you'd manage to hide this huge gear inside the cockpit, the thing would be near-perfect. EDIT: And yes, please do upload the LDD file :) -
Bob's Mini Models
Immo replied to British Bob's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
I always like this simple yet functional method of implementing HOG steering. Nice build for such small scale, I like the way you handled the harvester trailer's mechanics. The only thing I don't quite like is tractor's tad too big ground clearance, but otherwise it's cool. -
I would order all of those parts immediately if I had the Constraction FO Stormtrooper It's spot-on!

42055 - Bucket Wheel Excavator
Immo replied to Jim's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
First device designed to scratch backs I would actually want to have Pretty awesome, it looks a bit like a MOC, indeed, but, man, nearly 4K parts? It's a mean business. -
I was 17 1/2 when my Dark Age started. It ended when I was 26 1/2. Is it a legit Dark Age? Couldn't said it better myself.

[MOC] RV
Immo replied to Chapachuk's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
This is not an MOC, don't lie to us! It's an actual RV that was cleverly covered in the mesh of thin lines to make audience think it's made of Lego! (that's my way of saying it's an awesome build; great job!!!) -
I'd also try to look for local offers of guys selling their collections, even the assorted mixes of bricks. They could be obtained cheap sometimes and may prove useful if you want to build something of your own - and that day will come.

I had my Dark Age since 2005 to 2013. In 2005 I moved to a new apartment and got more seriously into writing and my Lego collection gathered dust - one of my huge (colorful) MOCs stood half-built on a shelf for years. In 2013 my GF gave me a small creator set. I kinda felt the Lego thing starts to interest me again. A few months later I was sure that was the case. Now I feel Lego's gonna be a huge part of my life, very important hobby and a way to keep me (and my shelves) occupied.

Thrill of a chase or laid back touring? Here's your powerful kustom chariot. Flamboyant, sleek and fast, this street rod is a perfect machine for touring or racing. Powered by a boosted V8 engine adorned with velocity stacks, this automobile with a getaway car vibe has a dangerous stance and even more dangerous exhaust manifolds. Features: ► V8 engine with rotating pulley and velocity stacks-adorned intake manifold (no cylinders) ► rigid transmission (three Cardan joints; without differential) ► steering with working steering wheel and a HOG ► rear hinged ("suicide") door ► detailed cockpit with a steering wheel, dashboard, gear shifter and two seats ► "winged-boat-tail" design body with coupé roof, spoiler-mudguards and two straight, quadruple exhaust pipes ► details such as doubled rear wheels, fake brake discs and brakes, floodlights, rear lights, turn lights and suicide bumper 42024 C-Model

Sorry for a bit of offtop, but I just realized the 30276 TIE and 30278 X-Wing are wrongfully designed: TIE's wing-panels are strengthened with grilles that spoil most of the similarity to the original fighter. Can be easily remade to look slightly better and the panels are still tough enough to maintain swooshability. X-Wing's wings are in a wrong configuration and it looks like either overlook on designer's part or purposeful move: they have reverse orientation (lower should be the front-faced while top should rear-faced). Easily fixed. Now the duo looks like this.

30276 First Order Special Forces TIE Fighter and 30278 Poe's X-Wing Fighter. Impressive at that size and in the same scale as far as I'm concerned. Awesome little sets, perfect for adorning your desk.

Vladek ("Władek" in Polish) is also a diminutive form of Polish equivalent of Vladimir (Włodzimierz). In Russian it's Volodia. The thing I like is the so-called tuckerisation - using and anagramming someone's name to create new name - like the aforementioned Rob N. Hood.

Great! I think it's confusing for some to see all those ĄĆĘŁŃÓŚŹŻ-es - but remember they bring you more points! Scrabble with more letters is awesome! :D

I just got 30279 Kylo Ren's Command Shuttle polybag. Was added to "Donald Duck" comic magazine that costed an equivalent of $2. Crazy

That's bad news Maybe they'll change their minds in the future, when facing intense pressure... How about starting a petition?

Nicely done! Way better than the original thing. Love how Finn's turned head gives the impression he's asking the observing stormtrooper: "this stun baton guy's like gonna be a new Boba Fett, right?" Anyway, this set proves to be a nice material for vignettes and dioramas. Droid Escape and Carbon Freezing Chamber are actually the thing many adults wanted - a more decorative pieces to be put on the shelf of an adult geek. And they maintain the playability for the kids. In short, those are "DisPlay" sets, with less emphasizing of the "building toy" thing. Actually, I'd buy the Droid Escape as a display piece only. Would look great on a desk (especially if you can afford having sand on your desk ).

Nice ship. I agree that cabin is too high and a bit too bulky. The vessel needs more sails with a structure like that - and a class like that, too. To be a sloop, she needs a gaff mainsail, if I remember correctly? Wasn't the clear red jack a message "we kill everyone without mercy"?

How much time before it's no longer considered a spoiler?
Immo replied to Captain Settle's topic in Brick Flicks & Comics
Precisely. If someone considers him/herself a fan enough to suffer a rage attack after a spoiler, he should have seen the topic in the first week. The exception, of course, are ill or otherwise unable to go. But after 3 weeks I think the spoilee gets what he/she deserved. -
Same here. Just recently I applied all the stickers on my 42050 Drag Racer after I cringed seeing how my GF applied them; after I re-applied the stickers, everything went smooth. The only utensil I find handy is a sharp, flat knife to carefully remove the misaligned sticker - if it's done gently, the sticker is as good as a new one.

I'd love to acquire 42040 Fire Plane, but it's probably impossible. Some small Creators or polybags are more probable choice... ;)
