  1. Picked up the Anger Fish Villain CMF today. I quite like the Ninjago Series, it has a lot of variety for someone who doesn't collect the theme.
  2. Don't want to bump the 2016 thread so I'll put this here: Really interesting stuff, it's from NK's early development stage in 2015. Thoughts?
  3. Take a look at this beauty and tell me with a straight face that you consider Brickipedia "reliable".
  4. (Quoting image so people will see it) Needless to say, the hype train has finally started to roll. Did this image show up in an American or European magazine? I'm hoping that it's not an EU exclusive but I'll still order the sets if it is. As this theme has gone on, we've pretty much come to the conclusion that the "Final Battle" won't occur until Monstrox gets his true body back. It doesn't look like that has happened yet, so can we expect a summer wave as well?
  5. Exactly. He's the best promoter they have and he doesn't even work for them. If for some reason he decides to move away from reviewing Lego it could immediately effect Lego's sales worldwide.
  6. Crazy. As far as I know he legally purchased those sets and reviewed them on his own time. What was their issue? There's only a few days (weeks?) before Force Friday, pretty much everyone, Chinese imitators or not, has seen these sets. There's no defending TLG on this.
  7. I think it has to do with the members who refer to them as classics themselves. There are a lot of people on this forum (even more so back in EB's first years) that were kids during the seventies and eighties, and they consider themes that came out during that era as "classics" because they have fond memories of them. Younger people aren't going to relate as much to those devotions because sets back then were fairly bland and simplistic compared to today's sets, with a few notable exceptions. Bionicle isn't considered a classic by the general public because it only appealed to a niche audience and doesn't mesh well with regular themes. Bionicle was targeted at 9-10 year olds when it came out, which means the average Bionicle fan is about 27 (I can attest to that based on my experiences at Brickfair as well). Older fans were never drawn in by Bionicle to the extent that group was, and today's kids clearly didn't like Bionicle's failed reboot. An example of a classic theme in the making would be Ninjago. It appeals to a wide variety of people and has a very strong core fanbase, so strong that it was saved from cancellation in 2012. Practically every younger kid I've come across that likes Lego is almost obsessed with Ninjago, and there's no doubt that people will be referring to it as a classic a few years after it ends.
  8. Agreed. Those plain stick pieces they used to use didn't feel very, well, magical.
  9. Highly unlikely as there is no movie planned for that book. Fantastic Beasts has a movie coming out next year.
  10. Thanks! The update doesn't give away too much but those rocky mounds seem to be spreading across the land (notice how one of the buildings has been overtaken). The tech-like effects on the mounds are quite strange. Hopefully they're tech-based baddies instead of *yawn* more rock monsters.
  11. Looks great! Will definitely be picking this up when it comes out. Pros: - Corner building - Compatible with the Winter Village Train - Covfefe Coffee Shop - Bonus train tracks - Bus Cons: - The station itself is a little small and is in need of a larger interior - People who didn't buy the train probably won't buy this set either; limited appeal - Figure selection is fairly bland and one or two additional figures would have been appreciated - Lack of scenery/side builds Overall, it's a worthwhile edition to the WV line and invokes the same spirit of the original buildings. Kudos to Lego on this one.
  12. I thought we established awhile ago that Amazingbrick's source was lying to him...
  13. This pretty much confirms that we'll be getting sets next year. Could you take a screenshot of that for those of us who don't have the app? Thanks
  14. Nexo being an EU exclusive could indeed be the case, I hadn't thought of that before. Would you mind describing the sets some more? I don't think we'll be getting pictures for awhile.
  15. I'm happy that HP is coming back, the theme always had quality sets and I enjoy the movies. I currently have a MISB 2010 Hogwarts Castle, should I sell it before the new sets are announced? I'm leaning towards no but advice would be appreciated.
  16. He's now saying that the pictures he posted are not his, but instead they're screenshots from a catalog that a different guy shared on Facebook. That guy is now saying that there's no Harry Potter or Nexo in the catalog. I have no reason to believe you're wrong, you're very reliable and you've been on this site for over a decade. I also doubt that this guy is making it up since he has shared the prelim images and there's no point in lying about what he did or did not see. I would recommend that you contact this guy if you can to sort this out. Who knew that asking a simple question would turn into this?
  17. The guy in question is lego_peru on Instagram who has been sharing images from next year's catalog. I don't think the mods will allow me to link to his account but you can find it with a simple search. I don't doubt you at all, I'm just sharing what he told me. The sets are coming in January, correct? Edit: Better question. You said you saw the prelims back in July, were they in a catalog as well?
  18. No problem. He just confirmed that there will be a 60th anniversary line (Keep in mind that rumor originated with SVL). However, I sent him the 2018 NK set list and he claims that SVL has "failed this time". @Sir von Lego do you have a response to this?
  19. He confirmed they're in there. He'll probably post pictures soon.
  20. I DM'd him. I wouldn't be surprised if he's wrong. SVL is the most reliable source on all of EB and not only posted a set list (with numbers) for next year's sets, he even described a couple. This guy just started leaking today. This was the conversation btw: Me: Are there Nexo Knights sets in there? Him: Nope. No sets for the first months. Probably for June-Dec 2018 catalog. I then asked him about SVL's list, and although he read the message he did not reply.
  21. According to lego_peru on Instagram, there are no Nexo Knights sets in next year's winter catalog.
  22. Isn't it in the helicopter set? I thought I saw it under the helicopter's front wheel.
  23. They really need to stop making Police sets. These are obviously unfinished but they're simply terrible, especially the station. The tree trunk costume and the moose are both useful, though.
  24. The actual set pictures seem to be out as well. One set appears to be Lloyd's car that was in the trailer.
