  1. 2015: Pirates 2016: Castle 2017: Space? Shouldn't be far away.....
  2. ^ Nope, but we do have Chima's writers, who are rumored to be working on a Castle TV show. Not sure if that's a good thing, though......
  3. The concept of futuristic Ninjas flying around in tubes and fighting Ghost-people was a stretch ten years ago, wasn't it? Wait and see........
  4. If I have to choose between the MVR and the KJ, I would go with the MVR. Village sets aren't that common in Castle these days, and with Fantasy sets on the horizon, I doubt that there will be a new one soon. If you can find it for a good price, buy it. The Joust, while a very good set, isn't as unique as it is grand. Lego usually makes a new jousting set every few years, so I'd expect one in 2016 or 2017, especially since the Joust isn't on the site anymore. The new Joust may or may not be better, but the MVR is a concept that I know Lego won't bring back soon. Hope that helped.
  5. ^ Since we're just sitting around waiting right now, how about we re-do the poll to see if the results are any different? Also, I noticed that a lot of people in that poll liked the Lotr orcs more, but still liked the FE ones. The FE orcs fit better into the System Castle world, and if more detailed ones were made, Lego would start to make the human's faces more detailed, which, as we know with Star Wars, would be a disaster.
  6. ^ I think that they were, but there were only a few of them. Galaxy Squad came out the year that Chima did, so I guess Lego never used those insect concepts (even in 2014) because the GS bugs were fresh in customer's minds. After the Outlands arc was over, it would have been impossible to use them because of the Fire and Ice arc, followed by the end of the theme.
  7. Hello and welcome!
  8. ^^ About that. Some of us know more about Castle 2016, but I'll give you the watered down version of what's basically concrete at this point. It will have some element of Fantasy. The first wave of sets will come out in January. There will be a castle. It is very likely that new parts introduced in CMF series such as the King's crown, Wizard's hat, Goblin's hat, Princess hat/hair, etc. will be used in the new theme. This theme will be more interesting than Castle 2013 (Not like that's hard). This theme will be similar to Fantasy Era, but we're not sure how similar. That's basically all we know so far, but I can assure you that we will hear something new soon, such as a storyline description or set numbers.
  9. Well, it'll be interesting to see how they make BB-8 roll......
  10. ^ It's officially dead once Lego itself announces the end of the line on the Lego.com message boards. They've never been wrong there. Knowing this, I looked around in the Lotr section and found this, posted by a Moderator: "LEGO Lords of the Rings and LEGO The Hobbit have been retired. Unfortunately older themes simply must be retired to make way for the themes of the future. We just can't make everything forever." I'm fairly sure that those Mods can't tell the kids on the message boards that a theme is discontinued unless they are 100 percent certain, for quite obvious reasons. So, I, Dr. BrickJagger, proclaim this theme to be dead. An autopsy will follow shortly.
  11. Not sure if this has been posted here already, but the Scooby-Doo teaser site is up.
  12. I agree with everyone here against excessive printing. Newer kinds of printing (Side printing, back leg printing, etc.) add to much detail to the very basic and iconic design of the Lego figure. I guess you could say that it ruins the charm of the figure. I doubt these new Castle figs will be overdetailed but they will probably lean toward the "more detailed" side rather than the 2013 Castle side nonetheless.
  13. Interesting concept, executed perfectly!
  14. carnivorous
  15. Great Work! Nice to see all of those great MOCS integrated into one beautiful layout!
  16. I am counting polys and promos, as they are also sets, but I guess that I forgot about the battle packs. The point is that it isn't close. 26 to 7 is still more than three times as many, so my point stands. Sure, Lotr and the Hobbit do seem like a drop of water, but the four years that it lasted were four years that we weren't getting real Castle sets. Castle has had hundreds of sets released, but it's rare to find one person whose been a Lego fan since 1978 when the theme first came out. Plus, there were only two or three sets released a year back in the eighties, and, even using your count of 26 sets, Lotr and the Hobbit combined would have had 962 sets made by now if it had come out in 1978, compared to Castle's 280. I know that Lego never would have made that many for a single license, but I'm just trying to illustrate my point. The point is that Middle Earth has been making sets at ludicrous speed and fans of those themes should be grateful for what they have. Now that it's over, you can buy sets from the 2016 theme or another theme entirely. No need to dwell on what's already happened.
  17. He's clearly talking about the Hobbit sets as well. You can't say that the Hobbit and Lotr aren't the same series, as that would be like saying the Star Wars Prequels and Original Trilogy aren't related. So, by my count, there were five waves, which would justify him saying "Wave after wave". It is true that there was one Castle wave in there, but we can all agree that it was an afterthought and was poorly designed. Even the worst Middle Earth wave (2013 Lotr) was still far better than the Castle one from every standpoint, despite people here complaining about the set choices. In the past four years, there have been five Middle Earth waves, totaling over forty sets, and only one cheesy Castle one, with five.
  18. Niiice. I like that new mold a lot. One question: How is Lego going to make the torso so that the Gargoyle can crouch? A new leg piece?
  19. Since Grumpy Sparrows was announced today, I think that it's likely that we'll at least get official confirmation soon (and maybe a release date as well). Regarding the fear of this line being botched, as long as it's not mini-dolls, I'm okay with it. I don't think that this line will be as kiddy as the last one because Lotr is gone, but I also don't think it will be "dark" or realistic. Probably something like Ultra Agents: Not too childish but not too adult-oriented. A_ngry Birds gets changed to "Grumpy Sparrows"?
  20. Pretty sure that was sarcasm........
