Hopefully the other two Castle Mixels have as much variety as the first one. Good marketing decision for Lego on this one. Next year looks to be very Castle heavy.

No, it's definitely a Castle sub theme. Being Chima's replacement, it's technically an Action Theme but can't go in the Action Themes forum because it's predominately a Castle theme. TheTang22's posts should explain this as well.

Seeing something at Comic-Con is pretty doubtful because I think we would have seen it on the "Event times" thingy already. I'll admit that my recent posts have caused a wave of reactions because I didn't word them properly. This theme will be Fantasy, but kind of Steampunk-ish. Fantasy Steampunk? Is that a thing? I've now succeeded in confusing myself as well. And no helicopters, motorcycles, tanks or any of that. This will be a different kind of weird. This theme will last for at least a few years (3 being a few), but, as long as everyone here continues to breathe, we will all wind up with what we like eventually. I personally am a fan of TLG's ambitious plans this time around because it shows that they finally have interest in the Castle line. After the bore-fest that was 2013, I wanted anything but generic Castles and Damsels in Distress, and I stick to that to this day. We shall see what the reception is here, but at least one thing we can agree on is that we've had a fair (1000) amount of posts of speculation leading up to this.

KK2 to the extreme, if you get what I mean. I know this for a fact. It's more like Ninjago than Chima by my estimation, but those two themes are sorta similar already.

Well, since Lego has to keep churning out new police stations for it"s City line, like, every year, I don't think that there's any room for a Modular one. New for 2016: Scuba Police!

It's not quite a return to fantasy, more like Chima and Ninjago than anything else. I thought that my post made it pretty clear that I know the name of the new theme, and it isn't "Castle". (Can't share it, but I could tell you that). You're onto something here.... EDIT: Just noticed that the Castle site on Lego.com is still up, and the message boards haven't had any announcements of the Castle board's end. I think that they're just waiting to re-brand the boards in January instead of starting over.

I find it funny how they have happy jesters and princesses in the regular Castle line and then have rotting skeletons in a line targeted at five year olds. Regarding this line, ( Which isn't going to be known as "Castle"), prepare your wallets.......

The usage of a book as a base to literally have a story "pop off of the pages" is a wonderful idea. Nice!

Using that hair piece as a tumbleweed is a very nice touch. I like it.

A thought: I think that we'll get a Classic Castle promo set next year. Last year there was a Classic Space one (And Benny's Spaceship), and this year there was a Classic Pirates one for this year to go along with the revival of the Pirates theme. Since Castle is coming back with new products next year, it would only make sense to make a promo set. That means that we will get a brand new CC, Crusader or BF fig next year.
