  1. Update on gas (petrol) station. i have decided to make the left side of the building a pizza diner. The rear of the pizza oven will have a light brick to give the oven an orange glow. Here are some LDD work in progress pictures. Enjoy :)
  2. Due to the size of the 911 spoiler it was called a whale tail ?
  3. True. On closer inspection of the photo I have to agree with you. They will still look good on my future MOC's.
  4. I love it when new colours come out for the SC mudguards (fenders) that I can use in MOC's. Now we get dark green and lime green to add to the dark blue one. ?
  5. Wow ? I won prize A for Allan and my picture made it on to the calendar with just 2 days to go. I hope the Manatee can swim or fly all the way to New Zealand. ?
  6. Hi Nightfall. Here are some photos. I have decided to put the petrol pumps and canopy to the side so they do not block the view of the building. The left side of building will have a diner and the right side will be shelves of stock and a service counter. The angled windows use the new angled door frame. The scale of the SC cars mean that the large baseplates provide more room. The top colors are currently a black and white checkered pattern. This could change to Octan colors, or dark red like lines like on my car wash or it could have Shell colors. I have multiple unopened boxes of all the 1999 Shell promotion sets that I could use for parts. This is not the final version, a lot could change during the build. Enjoy :)
  7. Thanks for posting the list in response to my question. I believed it. A few years ago a very friendly toy shop would give me a copy of an Excel spreadsheet used for ordering all the sets for the next year. I used to list the sets on different forums here, but could not reveal my source. ?
  8. Thanks Nightfall. I agree the jaws are too long. It wasn't easy to find something in LEGO. Have decided not to build it in real bricks as I will not be doing a demolition scene on my SC layout. Probably just a road repair scene. Instead I have started to build a gas (petrol) station to go with my car wash. The building will be on one large baseplate and the pumps on another.
  9. This is the only forum I frequent. I love to post my creations for all to see. I don't mind if there are not many comments, the view count let's me know how popular my creation is. Also I post a lot of LDD pictures of my creations before I build, so I don't expect comments again when I post photos of the finished creation. As a LEGO town collector and builder for over 30 years I still get inspired by the creations and layouts I see in the town forum.
  10. Thanks. It's great to see road going cars and road based racing cars. They will go nicely on my Speed Champions layout. I am not a fan of F1 in this theme so don't miss not seeing them in the list. I have owned real Ford's in the past. And always dreamed of owning a real Ferrari or Porsche.?
  11. Do you have official names for the rest of the 2018 sets?
  12. ? I saw you mentioned 2 store names in a UK Sales post. Google is very helpful, even from the other side of the world in New Zealand ?
  13. Looks like you can swap the engine cover for one with row of lights on the front edge for a bit of night time rally driving. ?? And front white and rear dark blue mudguards. ? Also white wheels and white wheels covers. ? Based on this 2017 Ford Fiesta WRC at the Sweden rally early this year.
  14. My guess is he lives in Douglas on the Isle of Man. ?
  15. Blocks magazine has excellent articles on building curves. Issue 20 from June 2016 and issue 33 from July 2017 can be bought in digital form. Blocksmag.com
  16. This morning I designed the demolition pincers for my excavator. They can open and close and rotate like the real one. Will put in a Bricklink order for the parts. Enjoy :)
  17. One of the excavators across the road changed the bucket to a pincer. Maybe I should too. Enjoy :)
  18. Some more photo updates. Ford Hoonicorn dressed in Nexo Knights (lava) flames. Enjoy :) U Haul trailer. Enjoy :)
  19. Al's Autos has expanded into selling boats. A new boat yard has been opened called Al's Boats. Due to the rush to open for the Summer season shipping containers are used for the office and spares department. Enjoy :) For sale is one fast speedboat suitable for skiing behind. Next for sale is a Sealegs amphibious boat. Designed in New Zealand and sold worldwide https://www.sealegs.com/ Enjoy :)
  20. Thanks for the last picture. It gave me an idea for a Drive In Diner for my recent truck and car MOC's.
  21. Last photos for today. Al's Avenue needs SWAT protection now and again. Based on a Lenco Bear and on SWAT vehicles found online in dark blue. Has a battery ram stored on the roof and gun ports on the side. Also a boat to protect our waterways.
  22. My construction vehicles need protection while working on the roads. So I built a retro Landrover using Speed Champion parts to tow my flashing road sign. Enjoy :)
  23. Anything bigger than a letter has to be delivered by Fedex. This vehicle uses Speed Champion parts and also has sliding side doors. Enjoy :)
  24. Another replica built by my minifig mechanics is the Batmobile from Batman the Animated Series using the Speed Champions mudguards (fenders) and wheels. Enjoy :) All of the companies along Al's Avenue ( Drive In Movies, Showroom, Service Center, Motorbike Shop and Boat Yard) are serviced by USPS for their mail. Built again using Speed Champions parts. Enjoy :)
