The CMF werewolf would suffice wouldn't it? It's exactly the same mold as the elf hair. I sure hope so for animating purposes!
-
Aanchir, your point is excellent made and I can't disagree with that. I do think that the Ninjago theme has possibly benefitted from a larger budget possibly from TLG. It is a very well built range!
-
I think this is a really good point and also where TLG is a bit stuck. Both Atlantis and Pharaohs quest were excellent concepts but the brickbuilt "monsters" don't resonate with kids. I think they have it right with the new dino attack range in having new molds for the large beasts. Brick-stuff looks in-authentic, best to reserve the bricks for vehicles and playsets......or large robots! I would love to see a mythological range but until the decide to go with molds i#d rather they steered away from it. I don't want a brickbuilt Griffin or Cerberus, I want it as a mold like the Triceratops.
-
That is excellent news! I only have to get 2 sets the Quinjet and Helicarrier! Don't want too many of that muppet Captain America! I suppose I'll have to resort ot bricklink for Loki though.

Superheroes is in TRU in the UK now.

With current molds for the colelctible minifigures i could easily see a Silver Samurai based set for Wolverine with Lady Deathstrike thrown in for good measure. I think most X-Men sets will unfortunately centre around ol' Muttonchops. He maybe the most famous character but X-Men is rich with so many good characters. How about sets based on X-Factor (no, not with Simon Cowell!) and/or X-Force?

With ref to the Nick Fury figure I think people are ignoring the best possible version they could do.........DAvid Hasselhoff!! In all seriousness why would he be in the xmen range? It doesn't seem very likely as there are probably over a hundred characters that would be more likely to show.
-
Especially when he goes stalking through their bedrooms at the dead of night.............in this day and age isn't a bit weird that we still tolerate the idea of a fat, bearded weirdo unsupervised in kids bedrooms????

Interesting point, i am currently recycling my six hogwarts castles to build a large scale wayne manor with a batcave underneath! Arkham city sets would be fantastic but i'm not sure. The games are pitched at the older kids and I don't think the minifigs would be popular with parents. Can you imagine a kid going up to his mum in TRU and saying "Can I have this Poison Ivy mini fig with her hooters on show and her a*se hanging out? Or This Slutty nurse Harley Quinn?"

LEGO Collectable Minifigures Series 6 Discussion
Vindice replied to Rufus's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Fantastic idea! This should be done more often. I've updated with Argos in Havant. Bought 6 random today and got 2 minotaurs! The mechanics hair is awesome! -
This is really nice, the only thing I would say is that I'd actually like to see it a little bigger with a bit more space between relics. You could do a nice moc of the British museum or there again maybe the museum in cairo is what you're going more for here.
-
Love this, so many interesting details if you look carefully at it. Your MOCs really are outstanding.

For one wave they've made a big investment in molds! I'd be pretty shocked if this didn't get at least one more wave like Atlantis and bare in mind that dinosaurs as a toy is already a wel established market.
-
Very true! But do the kids hate it? Dinosaur toy companies tend to quite like the Spinosaurus, i guess it makes a good battle rival for T.Rex with the kids. Considering the leaks so far I'm kind of surprised we don't know anything yet of the next wave.
-
Unfortunately I don't think the marvel line will be so x-men centric to have all those x-men ideas which is a shame as it's so much better than the avengers!! Having saisd that, a brick-built sentinel is an absolutely awesome idea!

Argos in the UK had the new sets listed even before S@H!! X-wing and Tie fighter £49.99, planet sets are in and the others are £11.99 - £19.99
-
C'mon seriously?! So far there is already loads of highly recognizable dinosaurs ommited so why do something like Giraffatitan?? If there is another wave, we should expect Stegosaurus, either one of Brachiosaurus, Diplodocus or Apatosaurus and if they want to really push the vehicle assignment something like a plesiosaurus for a decent sized boat. (TLG love boats!) Then I would think something like Spinosaurus as it's sufficiently different from T-Rex and would capture the Jurassic Park lovers attention. Argos has them listed now.
-
they will only do one mansion max and it would be the far more iconic X-mansion, I'd expect that to include Prof X, Jean Grey, Cyclops, Beast, Rogue and one of Colossus, Nightcrawler, Iceman or Gambit with either Juggernaut or Magneto attacking. Arkham Asylum with Batman, and any possible villain, possibly Penguin as currently missing. Spiderman set with Venom and possibly Carnage although that may be too much to hope for. At the end of the day they will want the sets to get a foothold so you use the most recognizable heroes and villains.

I too think that the best chance of seeing the Witch King outfit will probably be in a battle of Pellenor set with Eowyn, Merry and Theoden. Could be a big minas tirith set that features some Orcs and soldiers of Gondor too. who knows. Sauron isn't actually as necessary as Darth Vader because Darth Vader is actually the most recognizable face of the SW franchise. Sauron does not appear in the books in physical form during LOTR and is only seen in the battle of the last age flashback. there is a chance I think of a battlepack for Rohan. They may make it to encompass the battle of helms deep and put in an Elven warrior too. Does anyone know for sure that the Elf in the helms deep set is Legolas and not Haldir? I expect it will be Legolas but you never know.
-
Those movies were the best take you will ever see on Batman in a cinema. I can't wait to see some sets from TDKR.
-
Love the vampire castle and the theme in general. I think nezxt year is going to be fantastic for kids and for adult MOC'ers!
-
Anything shown on the box has to be representative of what's inside so no morphing, otherwise trading standards will have a moan and then there is a packaging change (expensive and pointless!) Lego are quite hot on that. Prices will make or break this range so i hope a lot of sense goes into this. If it's overpriced then people will only buy stuff in the sales, meaning less profit and no future listings from retailers who have lost something on their margin. I think a realistic price will be Gandalfs cart £9.99-12.99 Wethertop £39.99 Helms Deep £102.99 Moria £72.99 Uruk-Hai army £24.99 Some might think these prices are too low but i genuinely think Helms deep will be comparable in terms of piece and figure count to Hogwarts Castle. and Moria close to the Batcave and Burrow sets.
-
I think that there will be old helmets for the normal men of Rohan and a new one you would think to separate the Eorlingas. only one troll in that scene of the film so I think this is good, i agree about skeletons, we've all got loads, give us an extra couple of goblins!
-
Shelob's attack was a big focal point of the film and books. Arwens escape would require a lot of minifigs that they don't normally do and doesn't even exist in the books. Should've been Glorfindel. Warg attacks would also require a lot of new moulds and minifigs.
-
Actually im entertaining the idea of minas tirith since getting the films on blu ray a few weeks ago. It was good watch8ng it again. Won't be minifig scale but sizeable.
