  1. not good enough to do it justice?! Without wishing to bow smoke up your a*se, Derfel, if anyone can do this it's you! how about a nive riendell afterwards or maybe hobbiton, looks such a nice place to live!
  2. 4) Joker makes a withdrawal - 3pts. Difficult choice, i couldn't pick 3 out for a point each so gave full marks to my favourite.
  3. 11) Crocs sewer, 2 points 5) Cat burglar, 1 point Thanks Penguin for a great comp.
  4. Brings up an interesting question, are LOTR fans even more geeky and protective of their beloved story than SW fans?! There will need to be a good dose of realism for them as there won#t likely be any UCS style Minas Tirith until this license has achieved a good few years of excellent sales. derfel will you be doing a nice MOC of the village of Bree or even Meduseld?
  5. no need to be like that about it, I think the point here is that with another license replacing a core line that there is a feasible point that we could see yellow heads become extinct. Depends what the consumer wants doesn't it. Is THAT hard to understand?? I think as regards sets we will see all the fellowship split over several sets. Wethertop is a good scene that would see frodo, Aragorn and a couple of wraiths only, as they are core cahracters to the scene. Balins tomb would be a good payset with minimal scenery, a couple of orcs, troll, Legolas and Gimli, i don't see the council of Elrond, just wouldn't excite the kids i don't think which is a shame. Amon Hen maybe for a nother couple of bits of scenery plus Boromir, Uruks and maybe either Aragorn or Merry and Pippin.
  6. Finally some confirmation. I take back all the negative comments and my hat has now been eaten! At least i can now stash away some of my budget from the new year to cover the ever increasing amount i will need for the summer!
  7. Lov the way you've done the tree in the aviary. Looks a bit precarious at the top, one more level and it would be a goner i think!
  8. Just when i thought things couldnt get much better! This is great, really well done.
  9. Love this! Great MOC. You disliked the film?? I'm staggered! Not quite as good as the first but still incredible storytelling. I thought so anyway.
  10. Love this moc! Awesome idea and execution but i do agree with Sok, the smothness doesn't suit the sewers, makes it look to clean.
  11. I like the fact that you've contributed to a great competition even with a shortage of bricks. It's a nice concept for a MOC too.
  12. nice job indeed! The lighting is very cool!
  13. I bet Batman had a few peep holes in this building!
  14. Why are you assuming LOTR will sell more than HP and POTC? All these franchises were huge blockbusters and in terms of modern day popularity HP would top LOTR.
  15. TLG will make what they believe will sell, i don't think they are limiting themselves by season timelines.
  16. I think Arkham asylumn is a big possibility. Popular playset, good chance for exclusive minifigs and they have the game that boosted it's marketability.
  17. That would be awesome. not likely though.
  18. great stuff lightening, I'll never see Bane the same way again now! Robin looks quite good in the batcave set i think. I suppose you could make an argument for most Batman characters being a bit camply dressed although not as much as Superman.
  19. No disappointment here. Do we get Batman in his black outfit in any of these sets?
  20. I still remember my first read of the Killing joke, how many years ago is that now? Got to be getting on fro twenty soon hasn't it? Awesome MOC though, nice use of the Hazmat minifig.
  21. I love this idea, all depends on someone having the time to do it and maintain it though. A lot of these guys are already giving considerable amounts of their time to us in keeping these forums fun and interesting.
  22. i'm not usually a fan of microscales either but this is really good!
  23. i LIKE that idea! it doesn't matter if we think vehicles are necessary, TLG obviously does! Lets break it down seriously. SW vehicle heavy and some playsets Batman, vehicle heavy even when vehicles play little part in most stories. (Batmobile excluded of course) Harry Potter, 3 versions of the Hogwarts express! They even did the Durmstrang ship These are their best licenses to date. LOTR action figures were horrendously awful sellers even during the films, boys pay with cars first and foremost and then spaceships, airplanes and trains. LOTR is risky, they can't flood the market with too many playsets as it impacts sales across the board then. And vehicle replacements? If you were a kid and your parents told you that you could have one set would you go for an X-Wing or Grond? AT-AT or Mumakil?
  24. I'll be shocked if we don't get at least 2 years of good waves.
  25. very true mate! Be great to see it happen although my wallet won't thank me and my wife may leave me!
