LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion
Vindice replied to whung's topic in Special LEGO Themes
Yesh fingering bags in the Toys aisle is a sure way to get yourself eyeballed by security guards. just don't make pleasurable groans when you find the one you're after! -
Got 2 7675 AT-TE's for £100 on ebay with my 10% off voucher. Both 100% complete but one without box. I actually only wanted one but let my son put in a cheeky £55 max bid for one which got the item................... wife was not pleased!

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 7 Discussion
Vindice replied to whung's topic in Special LEGO Themes
This series is impressive! To me it could be the best one yet, the space marine dude is very cool. I can see some Mass Effect MOCS in the future! -
Thanks guys, both very helpful suggestions. Emerald night looks quite good value for money actually so i will take a look at that, thanks.

The prices do seem to have a huge mark-up. Lets just hope the TRU 3 for 2 offers come around with the same regularity next year as we may need them! Failing that, it looks like a trip to America! Who's with me?!

Hi guys, I'm really sorry if this has been asked before but I've tried looking through some topcis and pages to find this but I can't. I really want to build a lego version of the Mallard and either Tornado or the Flying Scotsman for my little boy. He tried building one himself yesterday (He's not 5 for a few weeks yet)and although I thought he did well he was obviously disappointed with the result. I have seen some MOC's of this train and I was wondering if anyone knows if any instructions have ever been put up of how to build one. I would attempt it myself but with work at the moment I barely have time to build a new set from instructions let alone figure it out for myself. Can anyone help, please?

Looking back at the 2011 P&R thread, it looks like the winter wave came out in early December last year. Is there any information as to when this years will hit shelves? It would be cool if we do get them before year end.

I posted in the Pirates forum last Friday that it's available in Argos already. Most stores have them too. Yes I think you would have to put in an extra £5 worth of goods to get the free delivery.
-
That is extremely generous of you Penguin! I think I'll take part in this, that level of generosity deserves all our best efforts i think.
-
For those in the UK, Argos now has the Black Pearl in store. 901/3823 is the cat number.

I'm with KimT, it is a toy and as much as we love them, they do a great job in getting these sets out when they are working under the constraints of deadlines and budgets. For every one AFOL that doesnt appreciate how they have done it there will be a thousand kids that love it. If we're not happy with stuff then we can mod our own. It may have sounded a bit harsh but it is the truth.

A Guide to building a Medieval Village
Vindice replied to Derfel Cadarn's topic in LEGO Historic Themes
not only have you written that in a superb way but you deserve a lot of credit for selflessly sharing your techniques with us. My little boy would absolutely love this so thank you, Derfel! -
I missed out on the last Batman theme so I'm happy to buy them as I know my son will love them. To me they don't have the same visually stunning appeal as the SW stuff so i don't expect it to capture the AFOl market as much. I'm sure Marvel will follow the same formula, vehicles, vehicles and a decent playset.

LEGO Star Wars: The Padawan Menace TV Special
Vindice replied to Brickdoctor's topic in LEGO Star Wars
I would think it must be available on a torrent site. Try the piratebay or isohunt, bound to have it. -
I understand why you are putting ads on there, to make a little something extra. But please be aware that what you make in small amounts on advertising will be outweighed by the negative impact and loss of sales on your business. This is a friendly suggestion, please remove them. I like a lot of others do not buy from sites that use these tactics. you can advertise much more discretely.

one of the top two sets i ever bought based on value for money in my opinion. I would get as many as you want before it gets discontinued.
-
I don't have too many, and all recent Cargo train (2010) Passenger train (2010) hogwarts express (2010) and TS3 Western train chase My son is steam train mad though and has now seen the most recent catalogue so he wants this years new ones plus the Emerald night. I would like duplicate hogwarts expresses to do more carriages too. He keeps siphoning off funds for Lego SW purchases so I'm thinking of trying to convince him to do a Coruscant railway and station. If anyone has any ideas for inspiration then please let me know. I've got a cool idea for some animations centred around it.

Actually thats a really good call, the endor bunker set is one of the best I've ever bought and superb value for money. It's the closest thing in SW to the MMV set.
-
I'm in a similar situation. My son is 5 in just over a month now and loves Lego, especially SW. none of the sets are bad if they are naturally careful with these sorts of toys but the Millenium Falcon isnt very swooshable for a kid of that age. The pod racers too can be a little fiddly but look great. by far his favourite sets are the turbo tank and the infiltrator. I'd really recommend the infiltrator as it may also be something that he could enjoy building. It's an ideal size, has a great character and is easier on the wallet than most too.
-
Made use of the recent TRU and Argos toy sales to bag an At-At, Millenium Falcon, Sith Infiltrator and Podracers. Incidentally, the podracer box seemed sealed but when i got it home the bag with the minigfigs and most of Anakin's pod in was missing. I took it back and had it exchanged but I think someone took out the minifigs and carefully re-sealed the box. Pretty disgusting I think but has anyone else experienced this before?

Lego colelctible minifigures.......... I think this could potentially happen. TLG realises that the minifig market is stronger now than before and there is some considerable money to be made from it. Question is, would having the figures available separately affect sales of sets? Or would they even have the figures in the sets as exclusives that you can't get separately? I'd want to see Mr Sinister, very easily done after the dracula colelctible minifig. And a large action-figure style, Apocalypse, maybe in a set with his horsemen.
-
Well said Matn, couldn't have put it better myself!
-
Unfortunately the lack of news would seem to indicate the end of the line, especially as most of the sets for the winter have now been leaked. I think our only real hope now is that there will be a nice exclusive set to round of the theme. But even this is more hope than expectation.

Need simple builds ideas for 4-5 yo children
Vindice replied to Professor Jones's topic in General LEGO Discussion
Problem is that it all depends on the attention span of the child. My little boy picked up an instruction manual last weekend and built a scout walker from the Clone turbo tank set. He was reading the instructions for over half an hour and needed minimal help. The next day he helped me rebuild Hogwarts castle and built the astronomy tower, once again with minimal help. He is 5 in November but does have very good concentration. When I was young I couldnt concentrate on the manuals very easily but both of my brothers were quite good at it. -
Awesome pics!! Can't wait to let TLG perform open wallet surgery on me!
