Strange, i thought it had already been confirmed that there would be a set released for the DKR movie?? I thought i heard rumours of a Bane tumbler but i could've just had a dream about that.
-
I do agree with you Paul that "set bashing" in itself whilst not fair is an opinion that someone is entitled to, but the point I'm making is that all the time it's happening most LEGO designers won't come back to the site and that is our loss. Personally i love this set and i just think its a shame that we've upset the designer over it.

I do understand why people found my comments inflammatory but I'm just a little fed up hearing that official LEGo designers are avoiding this site because of a lack of policing and back-up from fellow Eurobrick members. What i said may sound harsh but if we want the designers to have more input on this forum then we do need to root out some of the rubbish thats put on here. Sorry that not everyone agrees but i for one would like to have more input from the designers on this site because some of them have some very interesting views and would take more comments of ours on board if they felt the forum was better policed.

Thanks for the post Kris! I like many others am extremely disappointed at some of the morons on here who seem to want to tear down a seriously great model someone has produced for us. It's little wonder that LEGO designers stay way from sites like these now when they get this sort of moronic responses from a minority of idiots. There are not "billions" of ways to arrive at the same designs in LEGO. for something to be authentic you often will need to adopt similar techniques as another skilled builder. That is a basic of any architecture. If it works well one way then you don't change it just because it may be similar to someone elses technique. I can't wait to buy this awesome model. And I hope the designer carries on building many more great sets just like it.

I've only heard of this one ASDA doing them now out of a reasonable number. It's a shame, I managed to make off with a heck of a lot of Aliens though for my latest MOC! I think this one store must have had some sort of mental episode, they said they were reduced to clear despite only recently being out. Scoring a number of Cosmic cube escapes and Wolverine choppers for £6 each made my week!

Comic con should be interesting this year. I think we will more likely see another wave of Batman sets than other DC material. At the end of the day any set that might include characters like the Penguin, Nightwing, Killer Croc and probably another Riddler set would almost certainly outsell anything else produced off DC. I would be surprised to see another Avengers set at this point. If they did one i think i'd rather see one based off the current Earth's mightiest heroes show that includes Black Panther, Wasp and Ant-man. I think X-Men will be the most likely with some Spiderman. They have to have another couple of villains in the wave. My guess would be that we will see Mystique, Sabretooth and possibly a Sentinel. I think it will be sometime before we saw more ambitious sets featuring characters like Apocalypse or Mr Sinister unfortunately.

Picked up some Monster fighters in Argos. the castle is too awesome to pass up. i could only find the dirt cheap Avengers sets in ASDA in Eastleigh. unfortunately they have run out now. The saving was ridiculously good and my brother found some sets hidden elsewhere in the store obviously by people coming back later. Still worth checking local ASDA's though, you never know what you may find.

Great minds thinking alike! Myself and my brother are just preparig to make some Supernatural stopmotion films with the supernatural characters and I have to say that your Sam is spot on! i would actually consider the sleepyhead hair from the CMF range for Dean and a different torso but really awesome! And great cap for bobby! Make up some nice MOCs for us mate. Although LEGo would NEVER touch this license it could garner a cult following and i could definately see Megabloks doing it.

An ASDA close to where my brother works are selling some super hero sets on clearance Loki's cosmic Cube escape reduced to £6 from £20 Capt America motorcycle £5 from £10 Wolverines chopper showdown £6 from £20 Might only be a one off as I've checked 2 other ASDA's an they haven't got any offers on but I'd check your local out.

Hi all, 2 new lots are up now. One is a massive lot of figures and the other is a selection of professors from Hogwarts. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEGO-Harry-Potter-Minifigures-MASSIVE-LOT-some-rare-/221045205693?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item3377522abd http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/LEGO-Harry-Potter-Minifigures-Hogwarts-Teachers-/221045208711?pt=UK_Construction_Toys_Kits&hash=item3377523687 Also if anyone is interested in Owls, i have a ton of them!

I will change that but just be aware that postage will be higher. not sure by how much yet though.

Do you really believe that Murdock?? Do you think if Action Man was gay that he'd actually sell? And would a movie studio ever even have made Harry Potter or Indiana Jones or Batman films if any of the leading characters were gay? Like it or not it still has a massive influence on marketability.
-
Hi everyone, Sorry I went quiet for a while on this subject but I now have the first lot up for sale on ebay. The item no. is 221040983625 I will be adding a lot of teachers of hogwarts and a lot of other HP figs over this weekend too.
-
I agree totally with this. I think DC is a tougher sell. Batman will always be popular because it appeals to all age groups and has had superb films. The other DC stuff is not totally relevant to todays audience. How many kids are going to buy Green Lantern if he's gay? I'm not being homophobic, just stating the obvious. Marvel has 3 excellent brands to draw on, Avengers, Spiderman and X-Men.

I agree that the Flash is not an official minifig design. It is a TT design and I would expect the flash to have a printed head design like capt America. I wonder if TLG will ever do molded head designs to make them look a little more authentic. I'd happily have minifigs that you can't remove the mask from.

Brilliant, thank you for the input. I'm not too familiar yet with Hero Factory and Bionicle but I did see Witch Doctor and thought the size would be ideal. Some really good advice in there, thanks.

LEGO Collectable Minifgures Series 8 Rumours & Discussion
Vindice replied to Piranha's topic in Special LEGO Themes
I've heard there will not be another series of CMF now until next year. Has anyone else heard this rumour?? Perhaps they're going to slow down the release of each wave now so as not to flood the market. When you go into some shops you can still find a small helping of series 5 next to season 6 and 7. I can imagine a lot of retailers are asking them to slow down. -
Hi everyone, my 5 year old son pestered me into buying him his first ever LEGO action figure the other day. We bought the Hulk from the new superheroes line. My brother also recently gave him a rock monster from the power miners range. I have to admit, now that i've assembled a couple I'm really hooked!! I would like to try and create some sentinels from the x-men comics for a MOC/animtation I'm planning and was wondering if anyone has any ideas. Ideally I'd like them to be at least 12 inches high. Are there any Bionicle or Hero factory figures which could provide a basic structure or template for me to build on? I'd like to try and keep to the proper colour scheme if possible and use dark red and probably dark blue bricks, however I'm not sure if this will be possible. Any help will be greatly appreciated!
-
You seem to like big boobs! Capt America is particularly good.
-
Having just got round to opening the Capt America set he seems to have a much darker blue colouring than I've noticed in the pictures. Anyone else noticed this?
-
Yeah and I for one am pleased about this. I do like most of the movies (especially X-Men first class) but I would rather have sets based on the comic characters. i don't like the black leather X-men outfits, much prefer traditional ones.
-
Faefrost hasn't their morning coffee I see! Thanks Grogall for the pics, much appreciated. I was hoping to control my spending a bit more this year but you may have just ruined me for the year again! I want to concentrate on OT a bit more so the Skiff and Palace are must have's for me. They look terrific.
-
hmmm very nice mate. A worthy rendition of Arkham. Like many others i could imagine this appealing to LEGO as a cuusoo set.
-
Like TLG, I'm abandoning Harry for pastures new and as such am beginning to sell off all my minifigs on ebay. They won't be going individually but in lots - Teachers, Death Eaters, Students, etc. I'll post links later to in the selling section. Also if there is much interest i may list a substantial amount of Sand Green bricks and plates as i had 5 Hogwarts castles in the end.

It wasn't just you Fives. That movie was beyond crap, it made crap look good! I loved the PotC movies until I saw this. The only redeeming part of it was Geoffrey Rush. Whilst tooling is very expensive, (i'd be surpised if it was a quarter of a million though) I'm sure TLG have no problem with the outlay, the concern would be over whether they could get enough use out of it to justify the cost.
