Excellent work! Shape of the building and the rock base is excellent as already mentioned. I too would like to see a tweak with regard to the water and waves crashing at the base. Think it would go from excellent to exceptional.

MOCing hell! What a great contest! I've just started my first MOC which will be a large minifig scale hogwarts for my son. I'm actually going to do a blog from the start to finish (which will probably be a year away!) there are a lot of possibilities for this contest and as much as i'd love to win that Diagon alley, I'm most looking forward to seeing what MOC's people produce. It's been discussed on here already how the future of the HP line is uncertain so I think MOC'ing is the best way we can keep this going. I've shortlisted some possibilities and now I've just got to convince the wife to let me make another brick order! Bad timing considering she just authorised a big one last week!

Ah ok, i'm quite new to the HP license having only recently re-started collecting lego for my little boy. He's currently helping me design and build an large MOC hogwarts castle! One thing that i think is very necessary is a good Nagini figure. I'm not sure how they'd do this though!!??

Leaky Cauldron and Godrics hollow are both good ideas. From a selfish MOC'ing standpoint i'd love to see a detailed Room of requirement. Lots of accessories would be nice. It would not surprise me to see one next year as there is a big scene in there with Harry, Ron, Hermione, Draco, Crabbe abd Goyle. A shrieking shack too would be good. From PoA or DH2

Thanks Lord Embo, Sounds interesting. Liek the sound of the Queen Anne and what sounds like a lighthouse set. Could be a lot of life in that license if they get off to a good start. Can't help thinking a better start in sales would be achieved with the Black Pearl in the mix but then they know what they're doing!

I live about ten minutes walk away from the Victory in Portsmouth. This MOC is an unbelievable recreation of a great ship! Well done the city of Portsmouth would be proud to see this in our home town!

Don't feel bad Matn, especially after all the lovely MOC's you've given us! I thin the reason why people may get upset is because your voicing fears that they probably already have but don't want to realise. Judging by current trends there may not be much more life left in the range but as you pointed out this is a business and if it continues to make good money then i think it will see more releases. Prince of persia was a rubbish film that wasn't really for young kids and had very limited scope for lego sets. It was a poor choice of licence and they paid the price. indiana Jones had a bit more scope but was also quite limited in terms of variety. Harry Potter is different it's a universe as close to star wars as any licence will ever get! (Unless they did lord of the rings), it has enormous potential for creativity and variety whilst appealing to boys and girl fans of lego. Also remember that in terms of money making potential Harry Potter dwarfs Prince of Persia and Indiana Jones in terms of revenue. If the Lego group base their decision on profit (they certainly do!) and if the reaction to this years sets are positive then there will be more sets. Take that to the bank!

I think we just need to be patient and until we hear more news I think we should all just get MOC'ing!! After all you can't beat making your own stuff really can you?? I do think we'll get a Ministry playset with a dragon and may be the lestrange vault either in the 2nd or 3rd quarter of this year. Let's all be positive. On a positive note, it's very hard in the UK at the moment to get hold of Hogwarts castle! there are many shops that have sold out so i think sales are good. Fortunately I have mine and as much as i'd love some more I'm more than happy to see this development. It can only be a good thing for the consumer in the long run. Could'nt have put it better Matn, I've just started my first moc. It's just the great hall at the moment but I'll be starting the astronomy tower this weekend. We can create much better stuff than will ever be released anyway as we have no constraints (other than lack of money!) on us. I'd personally love to see more great harry potter mocs. Some that i've seen are great but it seems like a small minority of people doing them. May be I'm wrong.

My opinion is that the 8 sets will consist of:- Black Pearl (it's almost madatory as boys will not buy into the pirates line without this ship) Question is who comes with it, some skeletons, a couple of normal'ish pirates and either Barbossa or Sparrow Flying Dutchman or Interceptor I can't see them doing the dauntless because of the exclusive Imperial flagship, I think it would come with norrington, gilette and 3 or 4 british soldiers Tortuga or Port Royal playset with either a selection of pirates for tortuga or some soldiers, Governor Swann, Will and Elisabeth, 2 soldiers, canons and a small prison with Jack mini-fig for Port Royal Wheel battle set comes with Jack, Norrington and Will turner Battle pack featuring 2 or 3 soldiers with canon battle pack featuring 2 or 3 pirates with boat not sure on the other 2 sets but my main concern would be price points. The imperial flagship is amazing, if the Dutchman was any less than £130 (like the cargo train) or the Pearl any less than £100 (like the passenger train) then they simply won't compare.

I do like some of these ideas especially the Snape's memory set. unfortunately i can't see most of them happening. You've got to try and think like a kid and then you might have an idea of TLG's thought process. What I think we might see will be:- Re-release of Durmstrang ship (although could the PotC line push this back?? too many ships?) I don't believe a beaux batons carriage is likely as boyswon't buy it. A maze challenge set would be interesting but doubtful. I think shell cottage is where you'll get Fleur. A re-release of Sirius Black's escape. Room of requirement with members of the D.A Chamber of secrets re-release from the Deathly Hallows I think we could see:- Ministry play-set, so much potential for this one! Shell cottage complete with dobby with knife sticking out of him (only kidding!!) Death eater chase, the scene from the start with a couple of death eaters, harry, hagrid and bike. From the second film there could be a lot of sets but not until next winter i don't think and then HP will be no more and we'll all be MOC'ing our brains out!

What i really like about this is that aside from being an amazing piece of work, it tells a fantastic story too. I find this pretty inspirational.

[Hi guys sorry to repeat my last question but in more succinct form does anyone know if the Atlantis theme will last throughout 2011? Or even into 2012??

hi guys, i'm new to the site and this is my first post! I really like the new Atlantis sets, my son who is 4 very soon absolutely loves Lego and Atlantis and City are his favourite range (I've tried indoctrinating him into Star Wars but with limited success!) my problem though is that Lego seem to constantly discontinue themes just when i'm getting into them!! Will there be anymore Atlantis sets past the beginning of 2011??? If it ends at the temple then i'm tempted to say forget it and just start getting loads of lego SW which seems to have a load of life still left in it.
