  1. I like your thinking! It'd be a shame for it not to happen.
  2. March may make some sense for some but not for TLG. They will want big sets out as close to the festive shopping period as possible. Disney and WB may have some say but lets remember this is a license and once TLG have it they will be making most of the decisions. Unless the license fee TLG paid is very nominal (possible) WB and Disney will probably not have a great deal of input.
  3. please do a brickfilm in this amazing scenery!!! I use the IKEA units too for my sons bedroom. Great for Lego displays.
  4. i agree there is more stuff that can be done but would it appeal to kids? The ships yes although possibly a bit too high on the price point. Keith Richards would be cool to you and me but the average 7-12 year old probably sees him as a drunken tramp and not a particularly cool one.
  5. I think you should be proud of thie MOC, glad you decided to show it!
  6. Bodes well for the future. Can't see TLG stopping them anytime soon. Wonder how many more ideas they have though, we're in a golden age for minifigs. Perhaps licensed CMF's aren't too far behind.
  7. Can't believe i hadn't noticed these before! I'd only noticed te SW funnies. I'm going to comment on here more and submit some stuff.
  8. Ah OK, I do understand that. It must take the mods quite a bit of their personal time to do this much anyway. I think it's something we all appreciate.
  9. Awesome build though Ruslik. Good idea well executed.
  10. I was under the impression that Indy didnt sell well at all. Apparently POTC exceeded it's target but that doesn't mean it was a huge success, the question for TLG is, can they now produce more sets that will have as much or more appeal as the first. They could release The Dutchman, but that would no doubt be an expensive set with lots of new minifig moulds. They've already produced Davey Jones so I would think they werent expecting on releasing the Dutchman. you don't see enough of Tortuga to warrant it's own set and they've sort of already released Port Royal. I think this theme is dead now. I can't see what else they can do with it.
  11. How good is this contest?! I love it when people are stirred up creatively like this.
  12. Absolutely brilliant, mate. Love it. Great MOC and great pictures.
  13. Great work as always Geertos and a nice use of your immense amount of HP bricks! I love the idea, that in a massive mansion like this and after years of looking after his young charge, Alfred is confined to an 8x8 stud room............ he might as well be in Arkham! love it!
  14. We've not had any pics yet or much concrete info but KimT has put it on the frontpage so I'm expecting it to happen, and if it doesn't I will tear my garments in half and beat my chest in Lamentation. A new Jabba's palace was on the cards anyway.
  15. I know there may not be hi-res shots of much yet but we could still have the front page laid out nicely couldn't we? I'm not trying to be picky but the SW forum is laid out in such a nice way where as this thread is a bit messy. I read this page at work and I can't trawl through 20 odd pages of old chat just to find any info on pricing or new pics. In fact why doesn't the superhero theme have it's own section on the forum? C'mon lets have a big shake-up!
  16. That is a very good point. Let's just hope they make such a good job of the first 2 waves that it gets an extended run. The Batman stuff should sell well. On another note, is it possible for a moderator to arrange the front page of this thread so that it bears more resemblance to the layout of the Star Wars 2012 topic? I think it would be nice to have a page we can refer back to that lists all the current sets (and prices where applicable) that we know of in each wave with a small picture. I get fed up of having to look back through pages upon pages just to get a decent hi res shot of one set.
  17. Buying collectible minifigs is the least of your problems mate. Fondling yourself whilst feeling the bags is when you go way too far.
  18. I don't pay for anything without fingering it first! but as i mentioned in the previous thread where this raucous conversation started, just don't start moaning with pleasure when you've found the figure you want...........it looks seedy.
  19. Jonwil, if you promise to go up to a stranger in an aisle and say "would you like me to help you finger your bags?" i will personally send you any figure you want out of series 7!
  20. True, but as much as i'd love to see more of the HP line, i'm pretty sure it's dead. The blu ray release combined with Pottermore and the years 5-7 game were the last real marketing opportunity for this line. I think it's finished, i'm sure most of us suspect it to be. Even if it got another set it would probably be a big exclusive to send off the line. Steady on there 'Tiger! This is a family product! I wonder if the invisible man said the same though, right before Superman bashed in his backdoors!
  21. I'm so sorry, but when i read your reply i had to re-arrange some of it because there were just so many priceless phrases in there! We do this at work all the time................. my job can be a bit boring.
  22. You can still get multiples, just wait for the 3 for 2 offers. If you thought the TIE would be $40 you would pay $120 for 3. If you get a 3 for 2 at $50 you will be saving $20! And just remember that most of us in the world would kill to pay $50, we will probably pay £50 which today is $80!! and the median US wage is above the UK. Still having said that I've got some money burning a hole in my pocket so BRING ON THE NEW SETS!!!! "whooooooooooo!"
  23. I think this is by far the most eloquent post on the matter for some time. Patience is the key people, I know most of us find it hard waiting a few months for any news but perhaps we should put our time to better use and get on with our jobs instead of surfing the net............... HELL NO!!!!
  24. Well with Potter canned and PotC uncertain it doesnt really have much competition to be fair. I think Batman will sell well but other than that i can't really see boys getting into WW, Supergirl or Batgirl............. to be honest I don't think most boys even like the idea of the incredibly effeminate Throbin'........ sorry Robin. most superhero films nowadays have gone for a slightly more realistic interpretation of their themes. Batman, and X-Men being the best examples. I don't think there is much place in the world anymore for the camper superheros but please feel free to shoot me down in flames.
  25. A free annual pass?! Are you serious? Prep the theatre...............it's time for open wallet surgery again!
