I've been waiting for a Rancor Pit for ages! I think it was always going to be a mold after the Dino range. TLG were experimenting with getting the process and painting just right probably as a test for something like this. Having seen it though, I am impressed but there is this gnawing feeling in the back of my head that maybe TLG are now focusing a little more attention on other lines........ That Bag End is pretty incredible and there could be some amazing new Super Hero stuff on the way.

Very eloquently put. I tweeted Lego group about it earlier today, my first ever grumble at them. Within an hour I had my missing roofs from the Monster fighter vampyre castle posted through the door! I felt so ashamed, guilty and dirty I had to go and take a shower.

Hi, I'm having touble with designing a head to go with the awesome Kang the Counqueror torso design that Daimar did for me. Does anyone fancy having a go? Complete with his helmet?

Pervert! I'm not a big fan of these cheekbone designs. Look too much like scars to me.

It some ways this could be my favourite set. There is nothing in there that you wouldn't want! Great Uruks, good ballista, nice addition to the deeping wall and Eomer and a soldier of Rohan. The ultimate army builder.

Luckily they still honoured any reservations that were made before they took the sets down of the site. I picked some up yesterday and have Wethertop to pick up tomorrow. they are better than I expected.

you not a fan of petrol prices, Ash??? It was difficult to tell. Don't go to the middle east, they almost look embarrassed when they tell you it's cheaper for them than bottled water!! The point is a fair one though, there are too many factors involved to beat yourself up over it. I think the prices are OK to be honest. I'd rather them cheaper but i was actually expecting much worse.

It would make sense if they have been taken down already. TRU have them up on their site as being released August 1st and at much higher prices! Don't think the prices will come down from what Argos are currently advertising but dont worry i'm sure there are some 3for2 sales aroudn the corner.

The mouth of Sauron was only in the special edition of RotK and would probably not be made by LEGO. A little too graphic i think for the intended audience. Unfortunately i don't see us getting many (if any) of the LOTR trilogy in the winter wave. I think Orthanc will be part of a next wave though if we get one. With Saruman, Grima, Treebeard, 2 Orcs and one of Merry or Pippin, hopefully both.

The problem isn't just limited to exclusive giveaways but I think a lot of people are dismayed that TLG seems to actively encourage grey market sales on a childrens toy. For a company of their reputation it doesn't seem very ethical nor in keeping with their ideology.

It's a golden age in terms of sheer commercial success but TLG also need to be carfeul. They have rival products that will in time get closer to them in terms of quality. And they have to be careful about oversaturating the market. LEGO has a pretty timeless quality but i feel that they do sometimes live off their repuation and feelings of goodwill amongst customers who have grown up loving the products and have passed that on to their kids. if they don't price carefully then people will change allegiances if there is a suitable alternative. We consumers are quite fickle!

I think the assumption has been there since we knew about this figure that it would be used int he Batman range. They even call it a manbat. I've already got 4! they're awesome!

Fair points, after playing the new LEGo Batman 2 game today it looks as though a lot of the jokers henchmen are being based on the Clown and Mime from the collectible minifig range. They look awesome too!! maybe no need to make a BP now.

in the world of commerce it's never silly to use your successful products as a yardstick to forecast future ranges. The point i was trying to make was that there is nothing about a generic goon figure that might make it stand out more than any generic criminal figure currently in LEGO's product range. If you think of a Joker's goon or henchmen there is not a particular uniform or motif that makes it recognisable enough to base a BP around in my opinion.

Hi guys, I'm struggling a bit with designs for some custom figs. Would anyone like to attempt these figures from the Avengers : Earth's mightiest heroes series? Kang the conqueror Wasp Ant Man Thanks in advance to anyone who takes up the challenge.

I don't see Battle Packs happening. TLG will not maximise their sales potential by outting figures people want to see in anything other than construction sets. It makes no sense for them to do that. I also dont think they'd release a BP of henchmen either as they aren't as recognisable as the SW BP's. Would you rather a pack of JOkers goons if you were a kid or Stormtroopers or Mandalorians? I think the first few runs of DC will be mostly Batman sets. If people didn't pay to see a Green Lantern film then they won't pay for Green Lantern lego sets. I think X-Men, Spiderman and Batman will and should be the next big wave. The toys of all sell, the comics sell better than any historically and they all are riding on the momentum of successful films.

Argos actually has all the sets but if you're online just put in LEGo Monster instead of Lego monster fighters. If you put in the second option you won't see The swamp creature set or the zombies. incidentally i like the prices! And the castle is awesome. I might buy more when they do 3 for 2. I wonder what price the Manbat figure goes for on bricklink.

Same for the 3 local ASDAs to me. Sets were actually higher than i expected. I think it was just this one store unfortunately.
