This tutorial shows how to increase the firmness of your LEGO tires! If your Mindstorms or Technic creation is pushing the tires down like a flat tire due to heavy weight, or if you want less rolling resistance from squishy tires, you've come to the right place! I hope this tutorial is a big help! NOTE: You will have to search around for the right size, depending on the tire. One size does not fit all. Typically, foam inserts from 1/16 scale RC vehicles should fit on tires from 42000 Grand Prix Racer, 8110 Unimog U400, or 9398 4x4 Crawler.

CTS-eV3 is a Lego replica of the 2010 Cadillac CTS-V Coupe. With Rear Wheel Drive, lots of speed, and more than adequate torque, this motorized creation is like the real car. Having been over half a year in the making, there has been many trial-and-errors (including chassis, drivetrain, and exterior redesigns). But I am quite satisfied with the final outcome! CTS-eV3 has a 4.5:1 gear ratio (minus the differential), accomplished by driving a 36 tooth gear meshed with an 8 tooth gear in a unique setup. Actual speed is a few tenths under 4 Kph! This two door coupe has been relatively replicated, including the visible V8 piston engine along with the Corvette inspired supercharger!

[MOC] 1:12.5 RC Car
DamonMM2000 replied to Chade's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Very nice car, nothing short of clean! -
My first Technic pullback racer MOC, an aerodynamic race car with two pull back motors! Lightning fast + extreme torque! Features dual rear wheels for maximum traction and flexible metallic tubing. Upon further testing, Aero Racer was gauged at both a short distance test and a long distance test: traveling 10 feet in .9 seconds, and traveling 25 feet in 2.8 seconds.

I'm back with my first public LEGO stop-motion animation! This is a music video I made of the song God of Possibilities by Brian Free & Assurance. I've had experience with a few Brickfilms (some of them have remained a work-in-progress since years ago), and I have another one I've been working on recently that's coming soonish! I also apologize for the prolific 4:3 format; next time I will aim for 16:9 widescreen. Animated using iMovie: 6 FPS (Frames Per Second) Music: God of Possibilities, from album Unashamed, by Brian Free & Assurance. [MOC] Class 1 unlimited buggy

I love the low center of gravity while it still has nice ground clearance! -
Just a short, little video showcasing my modified 42026 Lego Technic Black Champion Racer. I replaced the street tires with balloon tires to convert it into an off road version, and I had to reposition the panels to fit the larger tires (look closely on the front and sides). In my opinion, it looks better with the panels relocated anyhow. And sorry to those who like the original model with stickers… this has no stickers. Acceleration is a little slower than the original, but top speed is a plus! Here's a little closeup of the differences. Compare:

Programming Ev3
DamonMM2000 replied to knotian's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
EV3-G, most likely, is the most popular programming language for Ev3. Robot C would be a good direction to go… -
The whole piston system fell to the ground. There was no way to fit the steering mechanism ideally without being misaligned, as shown in the pictures below. It was a learning experience though with pistons and gearing, so it may come in handy in a future creation. So I ended up tearing out the whole gear mechanism for the piston engine… Now with the pistons resting in an ideal position, the steering mechanism came together nicely, barely fitting in between the engine. This is the result for now! Keep your eyes peeled for a preliminary model preview tomorrow on my YouTube channel!

Nissan Hardbody 4x4 [WIP]
DamonMM2000 replied to piterx's topic in LEGO Technic, Mindstorms, Model Team and Scale Modeling
Piterx, how did you overlay those LEGO Technic pieces over the blueprint? That would be so useful to know. Thank you! -
Progress! So the main body has been pretty much finished here, except the rear and top (and wheels and such). The piston engine works perfectly! It is connected to a 8z gear which drives a 24z clutch gear. The drive transmits through a few universal joints and ends in a 12z gear meshing with the 20z gear used to drive the differential. Massively geared up throughout so that the piston engine runs plenty quick. More pretty soon…
